SEE THROUGH ⋆ @lgcjisoo / the sound of lockers closing resound around them; the late hours of the evening filter out before them. they had just finished a handful of laps around the pool; a towel runs raggedly through his wet hair, the locker room shampoo fills his nose and he holds back the urge to sneeze.
fuck — was he getting a cold? hope not.
“did you get chocolates this year?” it was a question asked a month too late, but jino had been curious all the same. the days were numbered, white day was running straight for them and while jino was still perplexed about the idea of a separate holiday between genders, he also didn’t mind the extra month of leeway for extra love. it seemed kind of sweet, not in a obvious corporation-driven way, but in a romantic lover’s dream sort of way.

adjustment periods were usually difficult, this nina could attest to— the awkward phases puberty brought on, the unavoidable isolation of moving countries after a family breaks, the confusion felt in trying to stay true to yourself as you mature into adulthood whilst simultaneously working towards a future that becomes more unclear with each passing year.
reaching the goal but feeling as though you've not reached a thing.
her mind is muddled, unsure as to how she feels, unsure as to how she should feel, in light of everything that's happened. no, happening— by all accounts, there's nothing for her to feel confused about, not when she's set to debut ( god, she's debuting, an unreal reality despite how quickly her weeks of catch-up have been progressing ). she's glad, grateful that her years spent training won't be a waste, but it's been a turbulent year, one that's changed a lot. she's teeming, festering with thoughts she can't seem to put to paper as usual or get out to those in her new, immediate vicinity ( she doesn't want to be negative, not when this was all positive, so she holds her lesser, more troubled thoughts back ).
nina is glad for the dorms current blanket of quiet, sori off to her own devices, leaving nina with downtime to stew in their room— something she shouldn't do. reaching for her phone, she scrolls, searching for a distraction. she's unsure how it happens, but a familiar name pops up, the color blue flashing in her mind, and without thinking, she hits call. don't pick up, you're probably busy and this is so random. "five rings and that's it . . . "
the morning begins quite abruptly. one moment, minji is asleep in her bed, and in the next, she's shuffling down a series of arrows to a line created by the staff to a line of people pulling papers out of a box. she passes in her first try, and although she's a bit disappointed that her question was rather easy, she's more than happy to watch the commotion that ensues afterwards.
having been one of the last retreat attendees to join the line, the second round starts shortly after. as she watches jisoo, the first member of fabula in the second round, pass his task, she can't help but notice that they're now allowed to shout out answers. the girl, although known for her kind and bubbly nature, decides to get a bit mischievous, and also perhaps a bit silly.
"hey, i have an idea." she quietly says to jisoo as the round continues. "it's a wizard!" she shouts as jinhyuk of type zero is asked what a speleologist studies. "doctor francisco margarine!" she makes up as crystallis's soyoun is asked which scientist was responsible for inventing margarine. the young idol is extremely competitive, and it's showing through her playful banter during this activity. even if they recognize her voice, she hopes that the commotion will still at least require the competitors to become confused, or at least second-guess themselves. "try it!" she says to jisoo, "it's so fun!"
Cupid Seyoon was on the move, ready to hand out matching candies to his fated couples. He walked around the entire Halloween party ground, pretending to be innocently admiring people's costumes while in reality, diligently observed and schemed.
If any of his ships end up sailing after tonight and people get laid, he shall consider it his contribution to humankind and expect karmic rewards.

The first person he pulled to his side was Taeha (@lgctaeha), just to let her know that it was time. As Cupid's assistant and fellow Legacy shipper, he intended to take her opinions into consideration (because let's be real, his alone should not be trusted). Of course, he also had a match for her. "Here," he said, passing her a strawberry candy. It was identical to the one he had handed off to Wenjun (@lgcwenjun) earlier because he thought they would make such a cute couple. "Your match is tall, gorgeous and incredibly sweet. He's one of the only two men I really trust here at Legacy." Only the best for dear Taeha. Seyoon considered this ship sunshine x sunshine, and thought about everlasting summers.
He went to Yoojoon (@lgcyoojoon) next, because his brother's wellbeing was always on his mind. He handed him a peach candy, which was the same kind he had given to Milan (@lgcmilan). "Your match is a real peach," he promised Yoojoon after explaining his little game tonight. Milan was a pretty Christian girl and probably wanted a vanilla good boy. Who would be a better fit than his step brother? Nobody. Seyoon gave this ship the name of holy union, because both of the people involved were angels, at least in his eyes.
"Kiwi for you!" He grabbed a wild Ollie (@lgcoliver) by the back of his shirt as the guy was running past and placed a bright green candy into his hand. Seyoon planned to hand the matching candy off to Jaekyung (@lgcjaekyung) because she was really fun and could probably match Ollie's energy.
Seyoon looked down at the next candy he'd pulled out of his basket. It was watermelon, which was the flavor he gave to Yujin (@yujinlgc). The idea of matching her hurt, because she was a goddess and his idol, so nobody really deserved her. A part of him wanted to take the candy back for his Yujin shrine, but the other less selfish part wanted to find her someone. While contemplating, he accidentally bumped into Akio (@lgcakio), and ended up dropping the candy into his pocket. It would be weird to reach into his fellow trainee's pocket now and get the candy back, so instead he accepted fate and gave Akio a sulky look. "You better treasure her," he told the guy. All things considered, this one was not a bad option - Akio was a good man as far as he knew, better than a lot of the others.
Minjun (@lgcmjun) was a difficult one, because Seyoon still couldn't look at him without feeling the guilt. He assigned the guy grapefruit flavored candy, because that was Asher's favorite and gave the matching one to Jisoo (@lgcjisoo). Maybe back then, he, Jisoo and Asher were never meant to be a trio. Sometimes he wished he could go back and change things. This was his attempt, he supposed.
Perhaps BK (@lgcbk) would be confused about getting paired up with Sori (@lgcsori) via the apple candy but he should trust Seyoon's judgement. Sori was a cutie, especially whenever she got a bit tipsy. There might be a party girl hiding inside and those rosy cheeks were incredibly charming, which he highly doubted any man could resist.
Who on the earth should he pair up with Yuxi (@lgcyuxi)? She was real spicy with guys, but Seyoon had seen her interacting better with the ladies. Since Yuxi was working with the cool older sister vibe, he figured he'd find her someone with a little sister look. Maybe Amelia (@lgcamelia) would be a good choice! They can enjoy their raspberry candies together.

jinyoung is enamored by everything regarding this trip. he never thought being smart would pay off like this. now he truly thanked his brain for being naturally gifted in soaking up knowledge with minimal effort. the gym was already calling for him tomorrow but today- today he would indulge himself. that’s what they were here for after all, right?
“do you think they’d be shocked if I ended up eating everything? I want to at least try it all,” jinyoung asked with a smile directed at jisoo, already aware of the potential judgement he’d face but not entirely finding it within him to care.
it wasn’t like this would be his first cheat day ever. he was sure his metabolism could shoulder the additional calories for just one day.
It’s the perfect day for an adventure. Just as Teddy had predicted it would be. Despite the early start, Teddy feels wide awake as he steps off the train at the small station, checking that Jisoo is right behind him before setting off. He’d begged Jisoo to let him bring him to this little town. There wasn’t much here except a main street with a few shops, including a general goods store and a little diner sort of place, and miles of fields surrounding them in all directions. But there was a hilly forest right behind the town that he’d explored once before that he wanted to take Jisoo too.
“See! Isn’t it great?!” He exclaims, beaming as the sun beats down on them so brightly he has to lift a hand to shield his eyes. “The town’s really cute, but the forest is our main destination.” He starts off across the platform and through the station that consists of little more than one room with a ticket booth. “I know there’s forests closer to home, but it’s far more exciting coming all this way, don’t you think?”
Once out of the station, he turns to walk along the country path, keeping to the very edge, as there’s no footpath, and he doesn’t fancy being squashed by a tractor. He walks ahead of Jisoo, leading the way with an eager stride. He’s trying not to think about the prospect of a whole day with Jisoo so far away from the city. There’s no chance of bumping into anyone they know, and something about that makes his stomach do nervous little flips. Trying to ignore it, he reminds himself that this is just a friendly adventure between friends. It needs to be, for his own sake.
