𝚜𝚞 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚎𝚛 𝚏𝚞𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚎 𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖𝚜 𝚜𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚘𝚜 𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚔 𝟹 ↪ 𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 + 𝚛𝚒𝚟𝚊𝚕𝚜

“Where would you rank yourself amongst the other contestants? Keep in mind there are twenty-five trainees, so we would like you to be as specific as possible.” 

Parker nods a few times in response to the question, seriously taking in the PD’s words, wanting it to be clear that he is listening. In the moments that follow his brow furrows and his eyes seem to examine the air over the staffs’ heads as he tries to rationalize where in fact he would place himself. He is fairly confident in his own abilities, but more than anything, Parker wants to answer realistically. He had no shame in knowing that some of his peers excel in areas he didn’t, and to overlook his own shortcomings seems unfair to himself. Though there was no way he could even consider himself at the bottom. 

“Definitely top five, maybe even number five,” he answers with a soft laugh and a wide smile. Curling his fingers into the seat between his legs, he leans forward almost childishly and laughs again. “I think there are some really talented trainees— @lgcnabi and @lgckeeho, come to mind as people who have a really great skill set, and are definitely more rounded than I am, but I definitely think I’m a better singer.” To emphasize his sentiment, Parker raises one hand and grins as he holds up a single finger.

“Very well, if you think you’re that good at singing, please tell us who you would consider your rival when it comes to that skill.” 

Parker straightens a bit at the question, seemingly taking it more seriously than his own rank amongst the greater group of trainees. “Probably @lgcteddy,” his expression is more neutral but still the corner of his lip twitches as he speaks, like he can’t help but open his mouth without some kind of smile on his face at any given point. “I was really impressed by this performance last week. His technique and overall control is definitely not something to sneer at at all. I genuinely thought he did the piece justice even though we were given such a short time to show our skills.” The smile that he had seemingly tried to suppress returns, and Parker’s eyes seem to join along in his good humor. “Teddy’s also a really cool person, so I think it would be fun to go head to head.”  

“An idol can’t only focus on singing, so please let us know who you consider your rival when it comes to rapping and dancing.” 

“Rapping?” Parker’s voice is full of mirth at the very notion, and his cheeks starts to hurt at how hard he’s trying to hold back his laughter. “I don’t think anyone wants to hear me rap at all, honestly— I mean unless it’s all for fun — I can show you how my money jiggle jiggles, if you want?” Parker bends his arms slightly, and moves them from side to side to indicate the tiktok challenge that seems to be everywhere these days. It takes him a moment, but eventually Parker seems to remember himself and tries to regain his composure enough for the camera. “Honestly, I’m just a vocalist, so rapping is completely out of my comfort zone. I believe @lgcmiyu is the same, so if we wanted a fair fight I’d definitely pick her; however, if I wanted to challenge myself…” Parker lets his words drift off as he does honestly try to think of someone, anyone he wouldn’t mind potential losing to. “Perhaps @lgcxmax? I honestly think he would drag me so bad, but because we’re friends, I think I wouldn’t mind losing, but also I think I would be less self conscious about actually trying to rap.” The confidence in his smile slips away a bit to reveal something more soft and earnest before he attempts again to go for a laugh, “at very least it would be entertaining for the audience.”

For a moment Parker seems a bit lost in his own thoughts before the second part of the prompt jerks him back to reality. “Ah right… dancing,” he smiles a bit sheepishly. “ I’ve actually been trying to get better when it comes to dancing, “ he leans forward and winces a bit, “did you notice last week? Really, I’m not lying when I say I came to Korea to sing, but I really have been trying to be someone worthy of being on stage. I want to be an idol, not someone who can only stand there and sing ballads.” 

Resting his hands politely in his lap, he leans his body and his head to one side, eyes still on the camera, “As for someone I would consider my rival— probably @lgcdowoon.” The soft, mindful expression returns, and he nods with a good amount of certainty. “I’ve actually been practicing with him lately, and he’s really good. He’s younger than me, but it feels like he has a good grasp on dancing, and remembering choreography. Honestly he seems like someone who could easily pass me by if I don’t pay attention, so I choose him. I’m the hyung, so I don’t know if my pride will let me be surpassed by him.” The laugher returns, bright as ever, bits of bashfulness peppered in as he adamantly names someone younger than him as his rival. But he means it, for all of them. 

Every single person makes him want to be better.

twist & tangle

caught in the trap @lgcteddy​

it’s the lack of a physical presence that had jungmo glancing around the halls of legacy for what felt off. a couple of hours passed and by now, he would have been greeted by a certain someone with the vibrancy and the vigor of well, a puppy-dog. jungmo didn’t have much to go off of when it came to teddy but the fact the other trainee always approached him first in their interactions was interesting to note. the guy was cute, had been the one to approach jungmo first and even brought him drinks or snacks. suffice to say, jungmo liked teddy well enough to want him around more. 

jungmo grabbed an ice cold electrolyte drink and a couple of tangerines stuffed in his hoodie’s pockets and made his way through the hallways to find his target. eventually, he did find teddy sitting and resting in silence. he observed the other for a little bit longer before deciding to give him the drink. striding over in quick steps, jungmo immediately pressed the cold beverage to teddy’s cheek with a grin on his face.

“i had to ask a couple of people to find out where you were.” he plopped himself down next to teddy, now offering the drink for the other to take. the grin on jungmo’s face softened into a gentle gaze as he playfully bumped teddy’s shoulder. “you weren’t trying to avoid me, were you? i’d be pretty sad if you were.” untwisting the cap to his own drink, jungmo took a big gulp to swallow. “i was waiting all day for you and your pretty smile to greet me so when you didn’t, i decided to go to you first.”

can’t cool me

         the past months had definitely been filled with a lot. hyoseop wouldn’t complain about the variety shows, future dreams nor debut bootcamp, but it had felt like he’d barely been able to catch a break. he wanted to practice hard, he wished to continue to practice with all he got, but barely having anything to cool him down didn’t help. he just needed some sort of thing that could calm him down. so with sunday being his only day free, he decided that this sunday he should do more than just sleep for like fourteen hours. 

winter bathing was something he’d done with his dad when younger, but as hyoseop grew older and they both became busier, there wasn’t much time for jumping into a lake on a cold winter day. it was something who helped him then, so upon his wish for something to calm him down, he’d decided on winter bathing, not alone of course, because when is he ever alone. teddy was on the team to perform jikjin too, and hyoseop was starting to hate the song with a passion, having heard it too much, and still not be completely good at the choreography yet. hyoseop had decided that the two of them needed this after the long week, so he dragged teddy with him to a lake.

he  was wearing swim shorts, a hoodie and sandals, those sandals somehow stayed on the whole year, so even with how cold it was, his sandals were on his feet as usual. “i’ve brought towels for us both, i’ve also brought a hoodie of mine if you want to borrow it” he dips a foot into the water “it says four celsius, which is cold, but it could be colder i guess”. “have you tried jumping into water this cold?” he smiles to the shorter. he takes off his hoodie then sends a smile to teddy “want to jump in together, or want me to jump first?”.
