Liam groans as he pushes the door to his room open, rolling his shoulders in an attempt to ease the tightness in his muscles. Every inch of him aches, the deep, unrelenting burn of hours of extra training. Xaden has been ruthless lately, pushing him past his limits, and Liam is starting to feel every single second of it.
Y/N follows him inside, arms crossed as she watches him move stiffly, his usual fluid grace replaced by something more rigid. “You look like you just survived a death match,” she teases, leaning against the doorframe with a smirk. Liam throws her a look over his shoulder. “I feel like I did.” He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck before collapsing onto the edge of his bed with another groan. “I swear, Xaden is trying to kill me.”
Y/N chuckles, stepping closer. “You did say you wanted to be stronger.” “Yeah, but I didn’t mean this strong,” he grumbles, rotating his shoulder with a wince. She watches him for a moment, taking in the way his muscles flex beneath his pale skin, how his blonde hair is still damp with sweat, sticking to his forehead. He’s an absolute mess, but gods, he’s a beautiful mess.
With a shake of her head, she moves behind him, resting her hands on his shoulders. “Alright, sit up straight.” Liam tilts his head back slightly, looking at her with curiosity. “Why?” “Because I’m going to fix you,” she says simply, already pressing her thumbs into the hard knots at the base of his neck. A deep groan rumbles from his chest, his head falling forward almost instantly. “Fuck, Y/N—” She chuckles, her hands grabbing the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head. Her fingers caress his muscles on his arms, making their way back up to his neck. He shivers and goosebumps cover his arms where her fingers were just a second ago. She kisses his shoulder shortly, before standing up straight behind him.
She smiles, kneading deeper, her fingers working with slow, deliberate pressure. The tension in his muscles is ridiculous, so tight it almost feels like stone beneath her fingertips. “You’re so tight,” she murmurs, moving her thumbs along the rigid line of his spine. Liam exhales a long breath, his body melting under her touch. “You have no idea how good that feels.”
Y/N chuckles, shifting her hands lower, thumbs gliding over the thick ridges of muscle along his upper back. He is so beautiful and all hers. Sometimes she thinks she is dreaming, having found a person so handsome and at the same time with a character of pure gold. She takes her time, pressing deep, rolling out the stiffness with steady, purposeful strokes. She can feel the way his body responds, the way he shudders slightly every time she works out a particularly tense spot. He lets out another low, satisfied groan, his shoulders slumping. “Fuck, how are you so good at this?”
“I have very skilled hands,” she says, smirking as she drags her nails lightly down his back before applying more pressure. Liam shivers. “Yeah, you do.” His voice is rough, thick with pleasure. Y/N bites her lip, warmth curling in her stomach. This wasn’t supposed to be sensual—but with the way Liam is moaning, the way his muscles flex and relax under her hands, it’s impossible to ignore the effect it’s having on both of them.
She leans in, her breath brushing his ear as she murmurs, “Lie down.” Liam shifts slightly, turning his head to glance at her with hooded eyes. “Getting serious now?” She smirks. “You want me to fix your back or not?” He huffs a laugh but obeys, lying flat on his stomach, his arms folded under his head. Y/N straddles his hips, sitting right on top of his backside as she places her hands on either side of his spine. She starts slow, kneading deep, working her way down, letting her fingers dig into every inch of tense muscle.
Liam groans again, muffled against the pillow. “Gods, I love you.” She grins. “That good?” His only response is another drawn-out groan, his body sinking even deeper into the bed. She lets her hands drift lower, pressing into his lower back, thumbs sweeping in slow circles. The heat of his skin sears into her palms, and she can feel how much he’s enjoying this. His breathing is slower now, deeper, his body completely pliant beneath her touch.
Liam shifts beneath her, adjusting his position slightly, and the movement makes Y/N stifle a moan. The friction, the solid warmth of his body beneath her, sends an unexpected jolt of heat through her core. Unable to resist, she grinds her hips down against the firm swell of his backside, a quiet moan slipping past her lips before she can stop it.
Liam smirks beneath her, his hands unwrapping from under his head to grip her waist, his fingers digging in as he pulls her down harder. “Seems like you’re enjoying yourself too,” he murmurs, voice thick with amusement—and something darker, something hotter. “Fuck, Liam,” she gasps, her body aching with need as his strong hands guide her movements, urging her to grind against him.
A quiet groan rumbles from his chest, and before she can think, he shifts, rolling onto his back, his hands never leaving her. Y/N barely has time to adjust before she finds herself straddling his waist, her core pressed directly against the hardening length beneath his training shorts. The heat of him sears through the fabric, sending another rush of arousal between her thighs. She bites her lip, closing her eyes as she rocks against him, slow and deliberate. Liam’s hands slide back to her hips, guiding her, holding her steady as she moves. When she opens her eyes again, she finds his gaze locked onto hers—intense, hungry.
He reaches up, cupping her face as he pulls her down, crashing their lips together in a deep, needy kiss. Their mouths move in perfect sync, tongues exploring, claiming. His fingers slide down to the hem of her shirt, tugging it over her head and tossing it aside before quickly unclasping her bra. As soon as her breasts are free, his hands are on her, fingers tracing the soft curves before rolling her nipples between his thumb and forefinger.
Y/N whimpers against his lips, arching into his touch, her body already unraveling beneath his hands. “So desperate, my love,” Liam chuckles, his voice thick with desire. She doesn’t hesitate, reaching for the waistband of his shorts and tugging them down his legs, freeing his cock. It springs up, thick and aching, the head flushed and already leaking. She bites her lip at the sight, heat pooling low in her belly.
Liam shifts, moving them both with ease. Before she knows it, he’s at the edge of the bed, standing, while she kneels on the mattress before him. He grabs her waist, turning her effortlessly, pressing her forward so her hands and knees rest on the bed. She shivers at the feeling of him behind her, his presence towering, dominant.
His hands trace over the curve of her ass, fingertips gliding over her soft skin before delivering a sharp smack that sends a delicious sting across her flesh. She gasps, looking back at him with darkened eyes. “You like that, huh?” Liam muses, voice laced with amusement as his fingers slide between her folds, gathering the wetness pooling there. He groans, rubbing slow, torturous circles over her clit before slipping two fingers inside her with ease.
“Gods—Liam,” she moans, pushing back against his hand, her body already craving more. His other hand wraps around his cock, stroking a few times before teasing the head against her entrance, coating himself in her slick arousal. “You ready for me?” he murmurs, his voice rough. Y/N glances back, meeting his gaze. “Yes,” she breathes. “Please, Liam. I need you.”
His jaw clenches at her plea, and in one slow, deep thrust, he buries himself inside her. Y/N gasps at the stretch, her body instinctively clenching around him, adjusting to his size. Liam groans low, his hands gripping her hips as he stills for a moment, savoring the tight heat wrapped around him. “Fuck, you feel incredible,” he rasps, his fingers digging into her waist. Then he starts to move.
His thrusts are slow at first, measured, letting her feel every inch of him, but soon the control snaps, and he pounds into her with deep, relentless strokes. Y/N moans into the bedding, her back arching, her body meeting his movements eagerly. His hand glides up her spine, tangling into her hair before gently tugging, tilting her head to the side. “You’re so perfect like this,” he murmurs, pressing a hot, open-mouthed kiss to the curve of her shoulder.
“Liam—oh gods—it feels so good,” she whines, her fingers gripping the sheets as he drives into her, each thrust hitting a devastatingly perfect spot inside her. He groans, his breath hot against her skin. “I wanna try something.” She nods before he even explains. “Yes. Please, baby—use me however you want.” A deep, satisfied growl rumbles from his chest. His right hand glides down her spine before sliding lower, his thumb pressing against the tight ring of muscle between her cheeks.
Y/N gasps, her body going still for a moment. She’s never done this before—but when it comes to Liam, she’d try anything. He pulls his thumb back, bringing it to his lips and wetting it before returning to her, rubbing small, slow circles around the sensitive entrance. The sensation is foreign but intoxicating, sending a new kind of thrill through her body. “Relax for me, baby,” he murmurs, his voice soothing. “You’re doing so well.”
She lets out a shaky breath, her body adjusting as he pushes his thumb inside, inch by inch. The initial stretch fades quickly, replaced by an overwhelming rush of pleasure as the added stimulation heightens every other sensation. “Fuck—Liam,” she moans, her walls clenching around him. The fullness, the pressure—it’s unlike anything she’s felt before. He smirks behind her, his thrusts growing harder, deeper, his thumb working in slow, deliberate strokes. “I knew you’d love it,” he groans. “Can’t wait to fuck you here, too. Make you feel me in every way.”
His words send her spiraling. The coil in her stomach tightens dangerously, her whole body trembling. “Liam—gods—I’m so close.” “Let go for me, baby,” he pants, his movements becoming erratic. “Cum for me.” Her orgasm slams into her, a white-hot wave of pleasure crashing over her as she cries out his name. Her body clenches around him, drawing him deeper, milking every last bit of pleasure from her.
Liam groans, his grip on her tightening as he thrusts one final time, his own release following hers. He spills inside her with a deep, guttural moan, his body shuddering as he collapses forward, his chest pressing against her back. For a long moment, neither of them move, both lost in the haze of pleasure. Finally, Liam withdraws, gently pulling his thumb free before smoothing his hands over her heated skin in a soothing touch.
Y/N collapses onto the bed, her body still trembling from the aftershocks. Liam follows, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close. She sighs against his chest, pressing a lazy kiss to his skin. “So, how’s your back?” Liam chuckles, his fingers tracing lazy circles over her bare hip. “Mmm. Perfect.” She grins, tilting her head up to meet his gaze. “Glad I could help.” His lips brush over hers, slow and tender. “Oh, you definitely helped,” he murmurs, smirking against her mouth. “But now I think I need a little more recovery time… maybe another session?”
Y/N laughs, rolling her eyes. “You’re insatiable.” “And you love it.” She hums, pressing closer. “Yeah, I do.” And as Liam kisses her again, slow and deep, she thinks she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Only re-re-reading Fourth Wing I noticed a funny detail: Liam never argued, showed resent or even got sad about watching over Violet and following her around 24/7 not bc only he was ‘selfless’, but bc it was what Xaden used to do with him when they were children in theirs foster home and he always understood that overprotective nature as being an older brother.
Actually, not a single of the marked ones argued or complained about accepting Violet and helping her out, not even Imogen, bc that’s exactly what Xaden did for ever single one of them. They might have started doing it by genuine friendship for Violet after befriending her, but they started to interact and help her bc Xaden told his life was connected to hers, therefore they helped her as if she was Xaden.
Xaden was there for every single one of them in theirs harshest hours, so they will be there for his ones as well.

Breathe in, breathe out.
That is what you kept telling yourself as you watched Xaden, carrying an unconscious and injured Violet, rush through the halls of Riorson House, eagerly seeking out Brennan. The group Xaden had assembled to make a pit stop for a weapons drop before resuming your quest of War Games was rudely interrupted by Colonel Aetos.
It’s always the Aetos’.
You, alongside everyone else, had stayed and fought for the hundreds of innocents living in Resson, losing Soleil and getting Violet injured in the process. Bodhi, Liam, Garrick, Eya, Imogen, and yourself stand together, all bathing in the aftershock of what just happened. How in Amari’s name you were alive, you weren’t quite sure of the answer to that.
Bodhi and Garrick are the first to leave, the latter wanted to get some sleep while the former needed a cast for his broken arm. Imogen and Eya leave next, heading towards the guest rooms of Riorson house, leaving you with your boyfriend.
Liam tugs on your leathers, pulling you out of your thoughts. He knew of the storm raging inside your head—survivor’s guilt. It was no secret that you had a strong bond with Soleil, as you both were in the same wing. She was like a mentor to you, perhaps even more than that.
“Come on, sweetheart,” Liam mutters in your ear, his hand finding yours quickly. He leads you through the familiar walls of Aretia, leading you to one of the numerous empty rooms.
Visions flash through your mind as the two of you make it to your temporary room, not saying a word as Liam sits you on the bed, unlacing your boots and removing your dirtied flight jacket for you. He makes quick work of removing all your sheathes and weapons, meticulously placing them by the door with his own.
Liam kneels on the ground, hands gentle yet firm on your thighs and he looks up at you. His worry line deepens, worried about how you’re coping with the aftermath of the battle.
“Sweetheart,” he whispers, hands pressing into your thighs as he gets your attention. Wide eyes dart down to his icy blue ones, “talk to me.”
You didn’t know where to start. Do you start with Soleil’s death, with Violet getting injured? Or how he nearly died had it not been for Violet? “You—you nearly died,” your voice cracks, swallowing the lump in your throat. Your eyes divert to your lap, willing the tears away.
Liam’s heart breaks for you, not realizing how that may have affected you, even if he did survive unscathed. “Look at me,” Liam’s eyes become tender, waiting until your eyes finally meet his own. “I am perfectly okay.”
“But you almost weren’t,” you point out, a tear escaping from your eye.
Liam’s thumb catches it, rubbing your cheekbone in a soothing motion afterwards. His free hand removes one of your hands balled at your lap, placing it flat against his chest. You hear his heart beating steadily, perfectly, under your hand.
“See?” His voice is quiet, only for you to hear, “perfectly fine. I’m sorry for scaring you.”
You nod in understanding, exhaling a shaky breath. Liam’s hand on your face travels to the back of your neck, pulling you towards him for a gentle, yet loving kiss. You sigh into his mouth, both of your hands trailing up his chest, lightly fisting at the fabric of his shirt. Liam smiles into the kiss, tilting his head to the side to deepen it.
Liam’s hand slides under your shirt, his cold hand a stark contrast to your warm skin. You relax under his touch, until your thoughts come barreling in. You shouldn’t be doing this, especially when he just nearly died. Your hands press against his chest, breaking the kiss as you get some much-needed air.
Your boyfriend settles on placing hot kisses along your jawline, the feeling of his lips sending a shiver down your spine. “Liam, we shouldn’t. You nearly—“
“All the more reason to do it,” Liam retorts, sealing another kiss on your lips to silence you. “Let me make love to you, baby.”
Liam’s hands wrap around the hem of your shirt, pulling it off your frame. Before he can reconnect your lips with his, you force him to remove his shirt as you give in to his request. How could you when you love your boyfriend?
Liam stands, lightly pushing you further on the bed. He makes quick work of unlacing the bindings of your leather pants, peeling them off your skin. The minute he throws them on the floor, he’s crawling atop of you, cold hands settling on your bare waist as his lips latch onto your neck.
Your hands find their way to his hair, tangling in the blonde locks as he pulls sighs and whimpers out of your mouth with the marks blooming under his mouth. His marked hand trails down your body, toying with the hem of your panties. A beat later, his fingers disappear under the fabric as he cups your heat.
You moan out at the feeling of his hand against you, grinding your body down against him. The feeling of his calloused hand against your cunt felt oh so good, your pussy practically dripping. You whine when his hand leaves you, your boyfriend chuckling at how greedy you were already. He doesn’t hold out long, fingers hooking on your panties as he tugs them off you, the small garment joining your leather pants.
Two fingers rub at your slick folds, collecting your wetness to lubricate them.
“Liam—“ you begin, immediately silenced by your boyfriend.
“Don’t worry, baby,” he consoles, a whimper escaping your lips as your feel his fingers press against your hole. His lips drop to your ear, “I’ll give you what you want.”
Finally, his fingers enter you, a loud moan dragging out from your mouth. Liam’s lips return to your neck, basking in all the sounds he pulls from you as his fingers thrust in and out of your cunt. Your hands find their way to his biceps, holding onto him as Liam brings you to your peak.
If there’s one thing you love about your boyfriend, it is his hands. They’re long to the point they reach your sweet spot every time, but also thick enough to easily prep you for his cock. Those same fingers press against your sweet spot, causing a new sound to leave your throat. It was a mix of a squeal and a moan—and Liam wanted to hear more of it. His fingers become more relentless, pressing against the spot adamantly as he brings you to your orgasm.
“I’m coming,” you warn, barely able to get your words out from the pleasure your boyfriend’s fingers were giving you.
“Let go,” Liam whispers in your ear, and that is all you need. You come hard on his fingers, his digits riding you throughout your high until your heartbeat starts to slow. Once you’ve recovered, Liam slowly removes his fingers, the sound obscene in the quiet room. Without breaking eye contact with you, he sucks on the two fingers that were just inside you, not leaving a drop of you on his skin. The sight alone makes you wet again, eager for his cock. “Do you think you can handle my cock, sweetheart?”
“Yes,” you breathe out, hands falling to his clothed dick, straining in his leather pants. Your hands cup him, Liam groaning out in response.
“Don’t tease,” he bites out, head falling to your shoulder as you continue to teasingly put pressure on his hardened cock.
You giggle, but relent. It’s only fair, since he didn’t tease you. With familiar ease, you unlace the bindings of his leather pants—the same bindings on your own. With help from your boyfriend, his pants come off with his briefs, joining your garments on the floor. Your hand finds him again, wrapping around his cock as you stroke him, your other hand cupping his balls.
“Baby-“ Liam begins, though the words die on his tongue when you squeeze him with your hands. He gathers his strength, hands stilling your own, “I won’t last long if you keep that up.”
You smirk at your boyfriend, “maybe that’s what I want.”
“As much as I love your hands and mouth,” he begins, littering kisses along your jaw before his lips brush against your ear, “I want to come inside you.”
You shiver at his words, core dripping at the thought of having him inside you. Without another word, you guide his head to your entrance, allowing Liam to take over. With one easy thrust, he enters you, stilling to the hilt when his pelvis brushes against yours.
You moan out, wet enough from your first orgasm to lubricate him enough. Liam’s forehead rests against your own, one hand gripping your waist while the other comes to interlock with your hand.
“Liam, move, please,” you beg, wrapping your legs around his waist.
Liam kisses the spot underneath your ear, “whatever you want, sweetheart.”
He pulls out, leaving his tip inside, before thrusting back in. You throw your head back with a moan, your free hand gripping his bicep, probably leaving marks in your wake. Secretly, Liam loved it when you left marks on him. Liam sets a gentle and hard pace, abusing your sweet spot with every thrust.
“Are you going to come for me, sweetheart?” Liam questions, hand tightly holding yours.
“Yes,” you answer, squeezing his own hand back.
“Wait for me,” Liam requests, connecting your lips when you nod your head in response.
You open your mouth for him, tongues dancing with one another. Neither one of you win, both equally exploring and stroking the other’s mouth. One particularly hard thrust has your mouth going slack, breaking the kiss.
“Come,” Liam orders in your ear, hand traveling from your waist to your clit, thumb stroking tight circles. You gasp, back arching at the stimulation on your puffy clit.
“Liam,” you begin to chant his name, dangling on the edge of pleasure.
With one last thrust, you free fall into your orgasm, moaning his name as you come. Liam thrusts one more time, spilling into you as he moans into your neck, fingers squeezing your own as he does. He rides you both through your highs, slowly stilling when the stimulation becomes too much.
“I love you,” Liam whispers, head pressed against your own as he completely stills inside of you.
You grin, eyes soft as you look into your boyfriends eyes. “I love you too.”
He kisses you again, distracting you as he attempts to slide out of you gently. It’s no use—every time, without fail, he manages to make you sore afterwards. You don’t mind though, it’s a reminder of your boyfriend.
Liam quickly gathers you into his arms, bringing you into the bathing chambers connected to the bedroom. He places you atop the sink as he makes quick work of filling the bathtub with water. When he deems it warm enough, he gingerly places you inside the warm water, following quickly after. You sigh out at the feeling of the warm water, resting your back against his chest once he settles in.
“Not even Malek can take me from you, never forget that,” he whispers into the air, placing a kiss on your bare shoulder.
“Wherever you go, I’m coming with you,” you tease, though your words are truthful.
Liam chuckles, large arms wrapping around your waist as he nuzzles into your neck. You two stay there until the water is cold—until you’re forced to get up and face the consequences of the damage you caused at Resson.
This war will be bloody and brutal. But at least you have your boyfriend to face it with.
For kinktober could you do a smut: Violet is ovulating and incredibly horny but xaden is busy working with something by the desk so he lets violet sit on his cock while he works but without moving, suddenly Liam comes in to the room and xaden lets Liam take over and lets him fuck her infront of him
Kinktober '25 Day 25 : Orchestration Kink
Command Performance | Violiaden
Xaden | Liam | The Empyrean | Kinktober '25
Summary: Violet’s feeling a little desperate, and who better to throw her off the edge than her two boyfriends?
Notes: I know this technically wasn't a kinktober requests but it fit too well! Also if this sucks let pretend it doesn't exist okay?
Pairing: Xaden Riorson x Violet Sorrengail x Liam Mairi
Her thighs were trembling as she shifted in his lap again. She was perched perfectly on his cock, warm and soaked and not allowed to move an inch. Not after the way she’d barged in earlier, flushed and desperate, whispering how badly she needed him, how every nerve in her body felt like it was burning.
“Ovulating,” she’d gasped, and he could see the haze in her eyes, the gloss of need.
Xaden had looked up from the war maps, taken one look at her wrecked expression, and simply said, “Then sit.”
Now she was doing just that—riding him without riding him, completely still, impaled on his cock, her forehead pressed to his neck, nails digging into the fabric of his shirt. His hands skimmed over her bare thighs every so often, soothing, reminding her who she belonged to. Who was in control.
She made a high-pitched noise again when he twitched inside her. “Xaden—”
“I said still,” he murmured, never once glancing up from the papers spread on the desk beside them. “If you move again without permission, you don’t get to come. Not for the rest of the week.”
A wounded little sound left her throat.
“I’m not cruel, Violence.” He finally looked at her, dark eyes soft despite the command in his tone. “But I warned you.”
“I need something,” she whispered, desperate now. “I feel… empty. Even though I’m full.”
Xaden hummed. “You’re going to be good. You’re going to wait. Unless—”
The door opened. A beat. Then a familiar voice.
“You two decent?” Liam called out before fully stepping into the room. “Jesinia said you needed the—oh.”
He stopped short in the doorway, sharp eyes taking in the scene. Violet straddling Xaden, red-faced and flushed, her lips parted and damp from panting. Xaden calm and composed as always, but with the barest twitch of a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. Neither of them moved.
Xaden didn't look away from Violet. “You were saying?”
She gasped, head snapping toward Liam. “Liam—”
But he was already shutting the door behind him, stepping closer. “You two started without me?”
“We’re not starting anything,” Xaden said smoothly, finally turning to Liam with a slow smirk. “She wanted to be full, so I let her warm my cock. But she’s been whining ever since.”
“Am not,” Violet hissed, rocking just barely, enough to make a slick noise where they were joined. “I just—fuck—I can’t stop.”
“She is,” Liam said, voice already roughening as he crossed the room. “And she needs a good fucking.”
Xaden nodded once. “Then give it to her.”
Violet blinked, eyes wide. “Wait—you mean—”
“She stays on my cock,” Xaden said, smoothing a hand up her spine. “You fuck her. Make her come. She wants to feel used? Let’s give her what she wants.”
Liam groaned. “Fuck me.”
“No,” Xaden said with a wicked smirk. “Fuck her.”
Violet whimpered, burying her face against Xaden’s shoulder again as Liam made quick work of his leathers, already thick and ready. “I can’t believe—gods, you’re both just—”
“Devoted?” Liam offered, voice sweet as sin. “Head over heels in love with you? Desperate to ruin you?” His hand slid up her thigh, brushing between her legs, groaning at how wet she already was. “I’d say that’s about right.”
“Beg for it,” Xaden murmured against her temple, his grip tightening just enough to ground her. “Tell him what you want.”
She exhaled shakily. “Please, Liam… please fuck me while I sit on Xaden’s cock. Please make me come, I—I need it, I—”
Liam kissed her shoulder. “I’ve got you.”
He lined up behind her, one hand steady on her hip, the other ghosting down to guide himself in—slow, careful, stretching her to her limits as her breath caught on a sob. The stretch was almost too much, but she craved it, clung to it, tears spilling down her cheeks as both men filled her.
Xaden’s voice dropped low. “That’s it, baby. Just like that. You’re taking both of us like such a good girl.”
Liam began to move, each thrust gliding smoothly in and out, slick and messy and deep. She sobbed through it, overwhelmed, hands fisting in Xaden’s shirt, her legs trembling around them both.
“She’s already close,” Liam said through gritted teeth. “Gods, she’s so tight.”
Xaden chuckled, lips grazing her ear. “Because she knows we’ll make her fall apart. She always does.”
The air in the room was thick with heat and tension, with love—yes, even in the middle of something so filthy, so possessive and orchestrated, it hummed underneath everything. The way Xaden held her together. The way Liam whispered praise against her neck.
“You’re doing so well for us,” Liam murmured, thrusting deeper now. “So fucking beautiful like this. We’ll take care of you, Vi.”
Her hands shook. “Please—please let me come, I can’t—”
Xaden tilted her chin toward him. “Look me in the eyes, Violence.”
She obeyed instantly, pupils blown, lips trembling.
“Come,” he said, gentle and commanding all at once.
Her orgasm crashed over her like a wave, violent and overwhelming, her body convulsing as both men kept her upright. Liam groaned behind her, thrusting harder through her climax, and Xaden held her steady as her pussy fluttered around them both, helpless and wrecked and so perfect.
Liam didn’t last much longer.
He growled against her shoulder as he came, buried deep inside her with a long shudder. “Fuck, Vi—fuck—”
When he finally stilled, he rested his forehead to the back of her neck, panting, arms wrapping around her waist in tandem with Xaden’s.
The silence that followed was warm. Intimate.
“I love you,” Violet whispered, voice hoarse. “Both of you.”
Xaden kissed her jaw. “I know.”
Liam chuckled, still pressed close. “We love you too.”
“You stayed hard the whole time,” Violet murmured, turning her head toward Xaden with a smirk. “How uncomfortable is that?”
Xaden’s dark eyes glinted. “Oh, you think you’re done?”
She blinked.
He stood—effortless, carrying her with him, still seated on his cock, Liam’s release dripping down her thighs.
“You asked for this, Violence,” he growled, turning toward the bed. “Now I’m going to fuck you until you can’t beg anymore.”
Liam laughed as he followed. “Guess I’m in charge of round three, then?”
Thank you for all the love in pt 1, hopefully you enjoy pt2 js as much. I put a lot of time into it (hence the 8.9k words)
Warnings:
Swearing, mentions of suicide attempt, mention of throwing up, Xaden being a stupid and horrible brother, Liam being protective and caring for his girl (bare minimum ik, but still cute, esp to someone who has never been in a relationship), Hurt/comfort, protective older sister Imogen (I adore her), fluff, VERY slightly suggestive stuff (wink wonk), Xaden finally being a good older brother, Big brother/little sister moments, bonding, rekindling sibling relationship (I decided to have a happy ending guys… at least until my next work 👀)
Summary: After Xaden’s confrontation with you had been cut short by Liam, he decides to leave the situation for now and get answers from Tairn. As soon as that's done, he goes back to your room to seek answers, and there is no stopping him now. Soon enough he finds out what’s going on, and he realizes how deep of a hole he’s dug. He tries his best to get onto your good side again, but nothing seems to work. Until you get hurt, that's when it is clear that he isn’t trying to get on your good side anymore, that isn’t the goal, now there is no goal, he is simply here for his little sister.

There are five quick knocks at your door. The three of you knew exactly who it was. Xaden.
Prior to knocking on your door, said man had asked his cousin, Bodhi, to watch over Violet. To ensure she was safe from any other attacks, especially because she had told him that someone had gotten away. Just in case they had any bright ideas to come back and attempt to finish the job. Once he was certain she was safe, he was dead set on finding out why his sister hadn’t done the simple thing he had asked.
Liam looked at you while Imogen glared so hard you swear she’d burst the door and Xaden into flames. These two people were loyal to you. There is no doubt in their loyalty to Xaden, but you always came before anyone else to them. Liam's sweet, caring, head strong, stubborn, and smart soulmate, and Imogen's witty, petty, also stubborn, protective, and too good for Liam, little sister. Where they would kill for Xaden, they would sacrifice themselves for you.
Imogen got up, ready to fight for her little sister and her well being. No one could get away with hurting her, especially not today, and especially not her good for nothing, idiotic, obsessed with Violet brother. Liam grabbed her wrist before she could open the door.
“Imogen. Don’t.” He said. Worried about you. He knew better than anyone that you didn’t want Xaden anywhere near you. But he also knew that Imogen was going to do what she wanted, and that was, currently, protecting her little sister and defending her, even though she knew that she could do it herself. What are older sisters for if not that?
“No Liam. He had the gaul to treat her terribly today of all fucking days. And to worry about his little girlfriend more than he does about his sister's safety? He could have asked you or me, but no. He asks his little sister. What if she was there? What if she got hurt? What if she wasn’t fast enough because of what she’s going through? Everyone can see that something is going on with her, what if they burst into Violet's room when she wasn’t at her best? Then what?” Imogen couldn’t handle it. She understood that Xaden was worried, but to put his littles sister's life and safety on the line for his and Violets? That was messed up.
“Imogen, that's not why I'm telling you not too. You know that.” Liam said looking at her hurt she’d assume he didn’t want her to protect his girlfriend. He wanted to go out there and strangle Xaden. Pummel him even. He probably could with how much rage was bubbling in him right now at the fact that his girlfriend had been hurt so badly, especially today, but he also knew that she would want to do that herself. Defend herself and pummel her idiotic brother herself. She was the one person who could actually kill her brother if she really wanted to.
“Sorry. I know that.” Imogen said, shaking her head. “He’s a fucking idiot I tell you. So fucking stupid.”
“Yeah. He is.” Liam agreed before looking down at you and running a hand through your hair.
“My love? Let’s get you some water, hmm?” His tone is ever so sweet. Then it came again. Three sharp knocks. Which all three of you ignored. He could wait. He will wait.
“Yeah. Sure.” You said softly, voice hoarse from all the crying you had done. You slowly got up from leaning on Liams chest. Sitting up on your own, Liams hand staying on your back, going up and down in a comforting way.
Three more knocks. Harder now. “Here.” Imogen crouches down and gives you a bottle of water that Liam had made sure to have. Once again Liam was ready to make sure all your needs were met for tonight. You quickly down all that water, the coolness of it putting an end to the soreness that had developed because of your sobbing. “Careful.” Liam said, chuckling as he wiped away a small droplet of water that had escaped.
Three bangs remind you that there is a very angry man waiting outside your door for you. You tell yourself to ignore it, but you also know that he won’t leave. He will talk to you and it will be tonight. Even though you want to ignore him and truly don’t wish to speak to him, you know you have to. This is your older brother, and if there is anything about you two that people will say is the same, it is that fact that both of you are stubborn. You will talk to him regardless of the fact that you are hurting, and he will talk to you regardless of the fact that you are hurting.
Asshole, you think to yourself as you slowly get up.
‘Asshole’ indeed. Your dragon says as if testing the word.
I will burn him where he stands if you wish little one. All you must do is ask.
Ever the protective one. You say before feeling a flood of emotions run through you. Love and protectiveness.
For you. Always. He says.
You rise to your feet. Liam quickly rushed to help you up. Gods, I love him. You think to yourself.
“What are you doing my love?” He questions, but he already knows the answer, so does Imogen. The second Xaden knocked, they both knew you would inevitably answer.
If he wants to be upset with you today of all days, you won’t let him. If he wants answers, he’ll get his fucking answers, you’ll make sure of it.
“Im giving him a piece of my fucking mind is what I am doing.” You say with anger seeping through your tone. He wanted to pay more attention to General Sorrengails daughter? Fine. Wanted to give her all his time, take everyone important to you, and make them protect and train her? Fine. Wanting you to potentially put your life on the line for her? Wanting you to get hurt for her? Wanting you to take responsibility for her? When you are clearly going through something, which everyone else noticed you are? Absolutely not.
“Okay.” Is all Liam says as he holds your hand and squeezes it. He is right beside you, no matter what. He knows this won’t be one of the usual sibling fights. Not something you will simply get over, and you shouldn’t have to.
You take a deep breath to calm yourself before reaching for the door. Just as you go to unlock it, there is yet another knock. Then you pull it open.
“What?” You say flatly.
“What? That's all you have to say? What?!” Xaden says seething.
“Yeah that's all I have to say. What do you want now Xaden? What haven’t you said already? Why didn’t I listen? Why did I lie? Why couldn’t I do something so simple?” You say, matching Xaden’s tone.
“Yeah, that's exactly what I want to know.” He says looking at you with his brows furrowed.
“I have something else much more important going on.” You say looking at him, hoping and praying he would see that there is more to it then you are letting on, but of course luck is against you and all he sees is some soldier who went against his direct orders.
“What do you have going on that is more important than protecting the person whose life is tied to mine? If she dies, I die, don’t you get that?” He says, tone hushed as it is the middle of the night, but anger is clear.
“What if she dies?! What if I died Xaden? What then? Would you rather I die than her? Your sister means less to you then this girl you suddenly have so much interest in? Your sister means so little to you that you want her hurt? You think I don't know what happens to you if she dies? You think I don't get it? I do Xaden. I truly do, however that was the last thing on my mind tonight. I have more important things going on.”
“More important than my life?” He says accusingly and baffled, as though he can’t fathom not being important to you.
How fucking dare he. Is all you can think before you blurt out the words that will change everything. That will make him question you till no end. That will make him realize just how terrible of a brother he’s been. Or at least you assume so, at least you hope. Given the past you doubt it though. But you still have some semblance of hope that he will care even the slightest bit.
“Yes. My fucking life.”
“What the fuck does that mean?” He says with a shocked yet still angry look. He truly had no idea what you were talking about. It was apparent that as keen as he is, and as intuitive as he is, he’s also an idiot who clearly doesn’t pay much attention to those around him. Or at least you…
“Oh, so now you want to know what's going on?” You say, angry that he is just now showing interest.
Before your fathers execution, you and Xaden were inseparable. He was your rock, your person. After being fostered with different families, sure things had changed, but he still remained your rock. Then he joined the riders quadrant. That first year was the hardest for you, but it had allowed you to build more on your relationship with Liam, and get much closer to Imogen and Bodhi. Then his second year started, which is also when you struggled the most. He was distant. He sent letters sure, but they missed his usual edge, the loving and caring brotherly side to him that was, obviously, reserved for you. At first you thought he was going through something, but Garrick and you had been sending letters back and forth, and he never mentioned anything, and he would have, especially to you. The one thing that made you start distancing yourself too was when you had told him that you were struggling. You didn’t tell him about your thoughts, or how you didn’t want to continue living a life with so much hurt anymore, no. You told him that you were struggling. That you were going through mental turmoil, and that you needed your big brother, your rock. And his reply was what did it for you. He had simply said that he was also going through something. That he was struggling too. And that was all. Nothing more. No comfort from him. No words of encouragement. Not what he would have said before. You told him you needed him, and he disregarded that. So you started to become distant. Let him send letters first, which you hate to say, but it was rare. You gave him the same energy he gave you. You simply replied to his little to nothing updates and gave him the same. He never questioned it, if he even noticed.
While that was going on with you and Xaden. Liam, Imogen, and Bodhi had become your rocks. They had filled every empty void. They were the ones who stopped you. Liam had come to your foster parent's home a random night. You had sent him a letter that sounded far too much like a goodbye. They had all been on their toes and paying attention to every little detail about you, and it had been Liam who read in between the lines. When he got to your house, it was Imogen who answered the door. She looked confused, one because Liam looked like he had just seen Malek at his front doorstep, and two because you had said you were going over to his house… that's when it hit her.
It started with the letters, they found your letters, each addressed to a different person. Liam, Bodhi, Imogen, Garrick, Xaden, Kira; the woman who works at the bakery you love, Tristan; the only friend of yours who stuck by you after the apostasy, you foster parents, Elain; the unmarked girl who had been kind enough to help train you and Imogen before she went off to the riders quadrant, and many others.
Then they found the letter that was meant to help find your body. They bolted out the door the second they realized what it was. They were silent, but they were fast. They didn’t want to draw attention, especially because they knew you didn’t want anyone else to know, so they did it themselves. They knew exactly where you would be. The cliff where Xaden had said his goodbye to you before he left for the riders quadrant, the place where you and your father would run away too when things got too hectic in Aretia.
And they saw you, on the floor, sobbing. They ran over and Liam collected you in his arms while Imogen wiped the tears off your face. They comforted you, held you, they made sure you were as okay as you could be, they reassured you. But never once did they berate you, or try to make it about themselves. They stayed with you, in that exact spot, all night long.
“What do you mean now? I’ve always cared about you. You're my little sister. I do… care about Violet,” he says, pausing as if he doesn’t know if he truly does or not, and you scoff at that. This man does care about her, he’s fucking stupid if he doesn’t see that. But no, he knows he does, he just won’t admit it. He seems to be ignoring your clear disdain at his pause and continues. “but I also care about you. Again you’re my little sister. However, in case you didn’t know, the whole world doesn’t revolve around you. Not everything is always about you. You can’t fathom my attention being on someone aside from you? Are your fucking kidding me?!” He says. His brows are furrowed and once again he seems baffled. Baffled that you think he doesn’t care? When all he’s done is show you he doesn’t? When all he has done is show you he cares more about everything aside from you? And to add onto that he thinks that you have the mindset that the world revolves around you? That is far from the case. You can’t stand it, so you let it all out.
“Xaden I don’t care that you have… i dont fucking know, feelings for Violet. That's the least of my worries. I don’t care that you care about her life, what I care about is how you have so little regard for mine! That you seem to have absolutely no problem putting mine on the line for her sake. Don’t you see why that would bother me? Or are you that fucking dense. Also you have a really funny fucking way of showing me you ‘care’ about me.” You take a breath quickly before continuing. Not giving Xaden the chance to cut in. “As for what I meant earlier, fuck,” You say angrily as tears start to brim your eyes.
This is far from how you hoped this night would go. All you wanted was to spend time with your boyfriend, your rock, the man who stood by you at your worst and continues to. The man who didn’t run away when he realized just how broken you were. The man who helped you put back all the, as you say, broken pieces of yourself while reminding you that it's okay, that you are far from broken, you are simply a soul who’s hurting. The one who never berated you for showing emotion. One of the very few people who encouraged you to not bottle things up. The man who encouraged you to scream, cry, to hit and punch him if it meant feeling better, which you of course never did, but he was willing to take any of your anger away, even if it meant being a victim of it.
“Xaden, do you really have no clue?” Liam says. While trying to give you a moment and not let Xaden cut in. “Are you really that fucking clueless?” Imogen follows up, quite, no… very angrily.
“Listen I have no fucking clue what you three are hinting at. And I don’t have time for this shit-”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” You say as tears start to stream down your face. Liam and his gods damned pushing for you to show emotion. Now you can’t even hide it when you need to. “You don’t have time for this shit?! Really?! You really want to know? Fine. A year ago today I tried to end my life. Happy?”
Silence. Pure silence. All one could hear was your heavy breathing and sniffling. Xaden’s eyes shot wide open.
Liam’s hand reached for yours, lacing your fingers together. He squeezed your hand. He’s here. He’s always here for you. No matter what he’s by your side. On your side. Forever and always. Imogen's hand could be felt on your back. She’s here too. Always there for her baby sister, no matter the situation, she will always be there. Liam and Imogen. A constant You’ve come to learn you can’t live without.
“W-what?” Xaden says. Shock apparent in his voice.
“Is that all you have to say for yourself Xaden? What? That’s all I get?” Your voice is pure venom. Hate. Absolute loathing.
“I tried to tell you too. In my letters, during your second year. I told you I was struggling. I didn’t tell you I was fucking suicidal. But I told you I was struggling. A lot. I told you about how I was going through mental turmoil. That I NEEDED my big brother. But all you had to say to me was that you are also going through something. Nothing more. Nothing less. You didn’t give me the comfort I was lifelessly grasping for. And so I started to get distant. Not just because of your bullshit response, but because I wanted to see if you would put in any effort. And you didn’t. And slowly but surely our letters stopped. Because you never tried. You didn’t care. You were never there.” At this point you couldn’t even see him, but you didn’t even want to. Looking at his face, his shock, it disgusted you. You felt yourself about to throw up and quickly turned to your garbage bin that Imogen or Liam had, at some point changed the bag of, dropped to your knees and started to empty out the little contents that Liam had made sure you ate and drank, out. Liam’s had been quick enough to grab all your hair and held it up.
Imogen was quick to take care of the situation you were in no position to.
“Leave.” She said simply. But he simply stood. Staring at the floor. “Fucking leave Riorson.” she said when he made no sign of moving she was absolutely revolted by him.
“I- I can’t just leave. My sister-” he said. Tears brimming his eyes. “To hell with you and your sudden fucking care for her. Out. Now.” She said cutting him off. She didn’t care if he was sobbing and groveling at her feet. He needed to leave. Now.
He stared for a moment longer before nodding slowly. And turned for the door before pausing. “I’m sorry.” He said simply. Before opening the door and leaving.
-
As Xaden stepped out the door he let his tears fall. It was close to the time where people would start rising. But he knew no one would be up just yet. Besides he had his shadows to hide him, should anyone walk past him.
His little sister. His baby sister as he used to tease her. She contemplated taking her life and was searching for a semblance of support from him and he basically just said “same”.
He’s never felt like such a failure in his life. He didn’t even realize how shitty he had been. Not checking in? Not trying to continue to keep in close contact with his little sister of all people? Not catching onto the fact that she needed him? That she came searching for support and all she got was fucking “same”.
He knew there was no coming back from this. And if there was it would take months if not years. His mind goes reeling back to what you had said to him
“Is that all you have to say for yourself Xaden? What? That’s all I get?”
Your tone was pure hate. No, hate isn’t the word. Absolute loathing is more like it. And you were so revolted by his action you-
He fucked up. Really, really bad. And this was something he will never forget.
“I failed my little sister.”
“You did.” Sgaeyl says, not holding back at all.
”Did you know? Did her dragon ever give you even a hint at what she was going through?”
“You think so little of me? That I wouldn’t tell you about your dear sister's pain if I knew? If I knew you were being an absolute idiot I would have told you long ago. Need I remind you that you would put off reading her letters till late in the night? While I slept?”
“Fuck.”
“Indeed. Fix this.”
“You make it sound so simple. I can’t get back from this.”
“Her dragon tells me she has hope. Only a sliver of it. But hope nevertheless. Fix. It.”
“How?”
“This is a battle you must fight alone. I have told you there is a chance. It means nothing if I help you. This is entirely your own battle field that you yourself have created.”
“I understand.”
-
It started with something small… After days of trying to think of what to do, Xaden finally figured it out. Simply ensuring you had enough food in your system to fuel you throughout the day. He left you fruit, begging, which isn’t said lightly, Liam to put the bowl of freshly cut fruit in your dorm.
While he thought he was being slick, you knew it was him.
-
“Liam, brother, please. Let me take care of her in some way.” He begs.
“This will only serve to piss her off more Xaden, you and I both know it.” Liam says, sighing.
“I know, but that's only if she finds out it's me doing it.” Xaden says, almost smug. He clearly doesn’t know you.
“Fine.” Liam says taking the bowl of fruit to your dorm. He knew you weren’t there, you were spending the morning eating breakfast with Quinn and Imogen. He placed it on your bedside table, and quickly stole a slice of the peaches you love so much while Xaden wasn’t looking before walking out your door.
“Done.” Liam says.
“Hold on, did you take a piece?” Xaden says, turning Liam around. Liam had a smug grin on his face. “Yes… yes I did.”
-
“Liam, I know it's him, stop covering for his ass.” You say as you continue to clean your room, Liam lounging away on your freshly made bed. “Fine, but don’t kill him.” He says finally letting up. “Oh don’t worry your pretty little head. I won’t kill him. I quite enjoy the peaches and raspberries I get every morning.” You say grinning. “You cheeky little fox.” Liam says, and that's when you realize he's right behind you, but before you can turn he’s grabbing you and tossing you onto bed, before jumping on top of you and tickling you.
-
“He what?!” You exclaimed. “I thought you’d be more happy about me being put onto your squad.” Liam says, trying to ease the tension. “Liam, I am so happy. But you’ve been assigned to baby sit Violet. And sure I care about her but Xaden can’t just do that. What are you gonna sleep on her dorm room floor or something?” Jealousy seeping through your voice.
“My love.” He says simply before wrapping his arms around you. “Even if I did, it would be you on my mind.” He says teasingly. “Liam!” You whine. “I’m just teasing love. I would never. Even if I was being held up with a blade to my neck. The only woman's room I'll ever sleep in is yours.” He says while pressing kisses to your neck. You try to push him off but he continues, and sees the small smile tugging on your lips. “I see that smile.” He continues to kiss your neck. “Shut up.” You say turning your head, which only gives him more space to kiss. “Make me.” and make him you do.
-
“Xaden.” You say as you walk up to your older brother. You know that these little things have all been him. The brand new, albeit simple blanket that was left on your bed, the fruit, your 2 daggers you left in your dorm being sharpened and looking brand new, all of it was Xaden. You knew and Liam had confirmed that he was helping him. But the little things weren’t the problem, you quite liked it if you're being honest with yourself. No, the problem is that Xaden has now assigned the person you love the most to protect Violet. And because of this, you barely got to see Liam. Sure you were able to spend time together, but that was with your squad. Not alone. And even with the squad, he was constantly on edge, no moment between you two was ever really just you two. Then he goes and assigns Imogen to train her, which is fine, but now you and Imogen don’t spar together as much. However it does allow you to spar with your incredibly hot boyfriend.
“Yes?” he replies. “Liam. Of all people you chose Liam to guard Violet?” You say an annoyed tone in your voice. “He’s the best first year alongside you.” He shrugs. And he wouldn’t want to assign you to protect her again. Not after what happened the last time he tried to. He will never make that mistake again. However, there is one thing he doesn’t seem to understand. No one's life is expendable for Violets. No matter how much Xaden ‘cares’ about her. And sure he doesn’t see any of the marked ones as expendable, but putting them in harm's way for Violet, putting Liam, although he is entirely capable of protecting himself, in harm's way for Violet. Absolutely not.“It’s the smartest move.” He said, as though it's that simple. “You can’t put Liam’s safety on the line for Violets. That was the whole point of my argument. You can’t put anyone in any semblance of danger for her Xaden, why don’t you get that?” You say, eager for an answer. “Don’t start.” He says, ending the conversation. “Xaden! You are putting the two people who have always been there for me in danger. I would be angry with you no matter who, but to put them in this position? Are you fucking kidding me? The two people who were there for me when you weren’t? The two people who have shown time and time again that they care more about me than you ever have? Fuck you.” You say angrily before turning and walking away.
Regardless of your outburst, nothing changed. Liam was still Violet's babysitter and Imogen her trainer. Although you were still spending time with both of them, you missed the one on one time you got with them. Now it was you, Liam, and the squad, and you, Imogen, and Quinn. Never just you and Liam and you and Imogen.
-
“No!” Liam shouts before practically jumping in front of you to fight off Barlowe, just as he was about to, however Violet had acted, what neither of them notices though, was the dagger Jack had thrown. The dagger found its place right into your side, with a slash you had taken for Liam on the other, and your eyes were already closed. Liam quickly ran to your side as Violet fought Barlowe. He checks your pulse, hands shaking “Please.” He whispers. “Stay with me, my love. Stay with me.” A tear streamed down his face before he got up, sword and dagger drawn, as he turned to help Violet face Jack Barlowe.
Everything went by like a blur, Liam helping Violet fight Jack, Violet's signet manifesting, Violet taking down Jack with her newly manifested signet, killing said man, Liam carrying you to Deigh and flying back to where everyone else was, running with you in his arms to the healers. Nothing mattered to him, only you living and being mended. While Liam carried you to the healers, Xaden walked over to Violet, who looked distraught.
She had just killed someone.
But that was the least of his worries. His little sister is on the verge of death for all he knows.
“Violence. Thank you.” He says simply before heading off to the healers. As much as he cared for Violet, his baby sister was hurt.
And she comes before anything.
-
“What happened Liam?” Xaden says as soon as he walks into the healers ward. Although he knew whatever had happened wasn’t Liam's fault, he was still furious that this happened to you, and anyone could hear it in his voice. “Jack Barlowe happened. The slash was aimed at me, but she came in front of me and took the blow. Just as I was about to fight back Violet acted, but neither of us were fast enough to stop the dagger. I ran to her while Violet fought Barlowe, but she already passed out. We don’t know why she passed out so quickly, but she did.” Liam was rambling, clearly still in shock about all of this. Xaden let him though, he knew Liam needed to get it out of his system to calm down, he a;so knew that this wasn’t because someone he cares about was hurt, he knew this burst of emotions was because you were hurt. That isn’t just anyone for Liam. “I went to help Violet after making sure she was okay, but by then her signet manifested and she was clearly dealing with the whole situation. So I took her to Deigh and brought her here.” Liam took a deep shuddering breath. Xaden let him take a minute, he needed it.
“Thank you.” Xaden said after a moment. “You take care of her. You care about her, more than anyone I know. Hell more than I have recently. So thank you. Thank you for being there for her when I failed to be.” Xaden truly was thankful for Liam. He knew Liam loved you in a way he’s never seen in anyone before. True love. “I would do it a million times over, even if it killed me.” Liam said simply. Just then the doors slam open, a huffing Imogen comes into view. “How is she doing? How is my sister?!” She says urgently. “She’s okay. Just asleep right now. She woke up for a brief moment, but was barely conscious before she fell asleep. Healers said she’s probably gonna be out till tomorrow, which is good. It gives her time to heal.” Liam answers. “Thank gods.” She says, and Xaden shares the same thought. He had never felt so relieved in his life.
She's okay. Xaden says to Sgaeyl
I know she is. I never doubted that one. She's strong. She replies.
-
After your injury, everything with Xaden seemed to change. Not in a bad way either, just… it was different now. He was no longer trying to be an amazing older brother by basically bribing his way onto your good side. Sure he continued little things, but he no longer looked to see if you appreciated it. He just did it for the sake of doing it. That is when you finally started to accept the little things, without arguing at least.
He finally understands what to do. Your dragon says.
What? Now you're confused, what on earth does he mean by that.
Don’t worry my dear. He said simply.
-
Today was your birthday. Last year you had hoped that maybe your brother would surprise you with a visit for your birthday, to make up for his behaviour, or lack thereof, towards you, but nothing.
You had never been so let down in your life.
Your birthdays have always been hard since your fathers execution. You hated them, but you slowly found a love for them again because of Liam and Imogen. They always tried to make you smile and did the most, even though they didn’t have to. However whenever you said that, they would say “Of course we have to, you're precious to us. We would spell out your name with the stars if it was possible.”
So although they were hard, they were also the times you made some of the best memories in your life.
Today was different, there was something off about today, you just didn’t know what. It wasn’t bad, nowhere near a bad feeling. You just felt like something big was bound to happen today.
Just as you rolled out of bed, there was a knock at your door. You walked over and opened the door slightly and to her surprise it was Xaden. He stands there holding a chocolate cake in one hand, how he got a full cake, although it was small, is beyond her, and in the other hand is a beautifully sheathed dagger, the hilt was decorated with blue gem stones, identical, no exactly the same as the scales of Sgaeyl and Rionnag.
“Happy birthday?” He said hesitantly. She simply opens the door wider, and Xaden walks in. He places the cake down before turning to her and holds out the dagger. “This is for you. I brought it over the parapet with me, along with its twin blade. They belonged to our father, he forged this for you, and mine for me, and he told me to forge gems into the hilt based on the dragon that you would claim. He knew you would claim a dragon. I don’t know how, but he knew.”
You always wanted to join the riders quadrant, and your father and Xaden were always certain you would make it. At first they thought it was a phase, then when they realized you were serious, they tried to talk you out of it, both being fiercely protective of you. However you were your fathers daughter, and that meant you were incredibly stubborn. So instead they started to train you.
“Xaden, this is… amazing. Thank you.”A light line of tears brims your eyes, but you quickly blink it away. This was one of the best gifts you could have gotten. Hearing and seeing physical proof that your father had so much hope in you, makes you so beyond happy. However it also breaks your heart, knowing you can’t thank him for this gift. Thank him for his belief in you, and for allowing you to and giving you the resources you needed to pursue your dreams.
Xaden hesitates, but he knows you need it, so he takes three strides over to you before wrapping his arms around you. That is when you crumble. He simply holds you, brushing his hand through your hair. He didn’t say a word, just held you. And for that you were grateful, all you wanted in that moment was to be held by your big brother, and he knew that.
“I’ve got you.”
-
After spending the first part of your morning with Xaden, breakfast with Imogen, and the rest of the day with your squad, you finally got to spend one on one time with Liam alone, without the chaos and teasing of your squad.
“I know I said it before, but happy birthday my love.” Liam says as he wraps his arms around you from behind. You had just grabbed a fresh change of clothes to wear after you got out of the shower. “Thank you Li.” You say holding his hands that have wrapped around your body close. “I love you.” He says as he presses kisses to your neck. “I love you more.” You say giggling, as the kisses tickle. Liam knows how sensitive you are on your neck and takes it to his advantage. “I love you most.” He says placing one last kiss before turning you around to kiss you properly.
His lips met yours softly. He was always so soft with you. No matter the situation he was always so gentle. Not because he thought you were weak though, never that, it was because he knew you needed some softness in your life that was full of sharp edges which cut deep.
You tilt your head to deepen the kiss, and Liam follows your lead before taking control again. His tongue caresses your bottom lip, seeking permission, which you give instantly. Heat blooms all over your body, consuming you. “Liam.” You moan breathlessly. “I know baby.” He says equally as breathless. He leads you towards the showers and kicks the door shut.
Thud
-
You slowly rise from your bed and rub the sleep from your eyes, the dim mage lights still managing to blind you temporarily. As you rise, you feel an arm shift, Liam's arm. After your… activities, Liam and you had cuddled and fallen asleep together. It was clearly late in the night as you and Liam had come to your room a while after dinner. After dinner your squad, mostly Ridoc, demanded you all go out and do a night ride on your dragons, after that (and bothering your dragons a bit) you all decided it was time to head back to your own dorms, or in Liam's case, yours.
The night with Liam had been passionate and full of love. Each touch was sweet and gentle, like a feather blowing in the wind. Your nights with him always were.
However you awoke with a determination set in your bones, and so, you wrote a letter for Liam, in case he woke up while you were gone, and set off on your short journey.
To Xaden’s room.
-
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Three sharp knocks echo across the hallway as you wait for your brother to answer his door. Anyone else would be asleep right now, but knowing your brother and how he is, he is probably wide awake working, or planning the next weapons drop. The door opens slowly, and a sleepy Xaden emerges. Clearly you had been wrong, apparently today was the one day he was actually sleeping.
“Hey.” You say slowly. “Hey.” He replies groggily, wiping the sleep from his eyes. “Sorry I didn’t think you'd be asleep.” You say sheepishly. “No, no. I was doing some work, just fell asleep at my desk is all. Want to come in?” He says opening the door wider, welcoming you in. “Um, yeah.” You say and step into his room. This was one of the few times you had been in here, one of three to be exact. The first was when you had crossed the parapet, prior to going to where all the first years would be sleeping, to tell you about Violet being there, which you knew the second you saw her hair, the second was when you had claimed Rionnag, but that was only to tell you about Violet and his life being tied together, not to tell you he was happy for you or proud of you, and now this was the third, hopefully nothing about Violet this time.
You did like her, truly she was a great squadmate and girl to be somewhat friends with, but your brother seemed to only care about her, and even put her life above yours, that was what infuriated you. You loved Liam, but if someone asked you to choose one life over the other, you wouldn’t be able to, and you had been with Liam for years, been friends with him longer. Xaden only knew Violet for a couple months. That's what broke you more.
Aside from all of that. Violet was one of the people you enjoyed being around. You had spent many quiet moments with her alone. Especially recently, which is shocking considering everything. You studied with her most, after Imogen and Bodhi of course. Imogen helped you out with all the stuff she never had any help with. As close as she was with the Garrick, they never really… studied. As for Bodhi, aside from studying with you, he prefers to do it alone. Besides he usually does what Imogen does, helps you out with all that he missed. The difference between the two is that Bodhi has the patience to help you out with anything you don’t understand, Imogen doesn’t.
Violet was the only person you were actually able to study with from your squad, and you were the only one for her as well. Liam and you never studied much, you guys would always abandon it for simply talking, cuddling, or other… activities. You had grown closer to Sawyer, Rhiannon, and Ridoc, but you’d never been able to study with them. You and Sawyer would usually get distracted by your signets, him bending metals into different forms, and you blinding him with your light signet, or you two using your signets together and making light shine through whatever he formed. Rhiannon and you were all time gossips, and would never even get to anything remotely close to studying. Ridoc and you would only snack away, and go hunting for more snacks when you finished the ones you had brought for your ‘study breaks’.
Violet and Sawyer would simply talk about their childhoods, Ridoc made too many sex jokes and teased her way too much about Xaden, Liam only served to aggravate her as he was her new bodyguard, and Rhiannon and her had the same problem as you and Rhiannon did, gossips.
As such the two of you gravitated towards each other, finding time to study together, or simply enjoy each other's company in silence while you either read, finished up work, simply sat and watched the clouds or stars, sat with your dragons, or walked around after classes. Regardless you found yourself enjoying her company more and more after the chaos between you and Xaden had ensued.
“Did something happen to you? Are you okay?” He asks once he shut the door, clearly worried and thinking something had brought you here. “No actually, nothing happened. I just…,” You trail off thinking about how he’ll take your next words. Either he will shut down the conversation before it even starts or he will sit silently as you talk. “I miss dad is all.” You held your breath as soon as the words left your mouth. “I do too, but I assume it being your birthday makes it hurt more, right?” He says, sending a ripple of shock through you. You hadn’t expected that. “Yeah actually, that's exactly it. I wish I could tell him just how much this dagger means to me.” He nods as you speak, showing you he’s listening as he looks at you intently. “It’s more than a gift to me. It shows that he truly did believe in me and my efforts. He knew I would make it, and that means the world. You two were the two people I expected to hold me back, worry that I wouldn’t make it, especially dad, but he didn’t, even though I was only 11, he still believed I would make it. I just wish he was here to see me now. With a dragon who calls me his own.” You say as tears brim your eyes, you blink them away quickly, but Xaden is quick with his actions. He pulls you into a hug, holding you close. “I can assure you he would be so so proud of you. Because I know I am, I know I've done a shit job of showing it, but I am. So are the rest of the marked ones who knew you wanted to be here. I know Bodhi was, he was nearly in tears seeing you cross the parapet. Imogen knocked you off your feet when she saw you. Garrick giving you the biggest bone crushing bear hug. Kira, Tristan, Elain, they all sent Imogen letters asking if you’d made it, asked how you were doing, and also asked her to send them a letter when you had finally claimed a dragon, not if, when. Don’t tell Imogen I told you that.” He said, that girl would kill him if she found out he had told you. She had been planning to surprise you with all the letters they’d sent when you made it to second year.
Tears were streaming down your face at this point, you didn’t bother to hide it. Having this side of Xaden back after so long hit you like Codagh flying full speed. You never thought you would have this side of your big brother back, but here he was. Holding you close, wiping away your tears, making sure to comfort you.
And this was all you could have ever asked for.
-
You opened your eyes, and just as before, the mage lights, although dim, blinded you. Squinting you got up and realized quickly that you had ended up falling asleep in Xaden’s room.
He had tucked you into bed before falling asleep on his desk chair, letting you take over the bed as he usually did when you guys were younger. However now, he was up and working.
Is he always working or something? Does this man ever sleep? You wonder to yourself.
According to Sgaeyl, this is a normal occurrence. However my dear youngling, it is the next day. Afternoon actually. Rionnag says calmly.
Afternoon?! I have classes, why wouldn’t Xaden wake me?! You exclaim mentally before voicing your thoughts.
“Xaden why the fuck wouldn’t you wake me up?! I have class!” You exclaim jumping out of bed.
“No you don’t. I excused you. You were exhausted last night, that's why you slept so long.” He says, equally as calm as Rionnag had. You let out a sigh, take a deep breath, and launch yourself at your brother's frame.
Hugging him.
He tenses, before turning around and standing, and hugging you back.
“Thank you.” You say hugging him tighter. “Of course.”
After sitting around in his room for a bit, you enjoyed the fresh fruit Xaden had brought you while he told you about how Liam had dropped by for a bit. He of course teased you about how you curled up into Liam's chest the second he lay next to your sleeping form. What he failed to mention was that he had a smile on his face seeing you like that with Liam. Liam made you feel so safe that even in sleep you gravitated towards him, simply sensing his presence. He failed to mention how the usual tension in his shoulders dissipated, however Liam had noticed, and would tell you the second he got the chance, but Xaden didn’t know that.
You had simply told him to shut up when he teased you, throwing a pillow at him which he caught effortlessly, throwing it back at you, which you also caught, and the pillow fight began.
-
After a while of your two fighting with pillows (you won of course), you two both lay on the floor simply talking. A bit about your father, a bit about your childhoods in Aretia, and of course some teasing from Xaden about you and Liam before you two started dating and how obvious you both were with your crushes.
Liam and Garrick had dropped by in the evening to drop off some food, realizing after not seeing you two for hours, that you were spending the day together. Only then had both of you realized how much time had passed.
After you two had eaten, you decided you wanted answers.
“Why?” You said simply. However Xaden knew exactly what you were asking.
“I was struggling. I had the weight of all the marked ones lives on my shoulders, their safety, your safety, relied on my survival. There was also the stress of all the weapon drops Garrick and I did. We were constantly making sure we left no trail to be traced. Otherwise we would be killed, and again, the rest of your lies would probably be in danger. Then of course there was the stress of surviving here, in the riders quadrant, especially with Tauri and his followers, but none of it excuses my behaviour towards you, and I know that. I was a shit brother to you. I feel it. Knowing what you went through and how I simply shrugged off all your pain and suffering. I am so fucking sorry. I know that won’t take back the years of hurt I put you through, but I truly am so sorry.” He said, clearly hating himself for putting you through that.
“I understand that, but Xaden, what you did wasn’t okay.” You say, hoping this wouldn’t start an argument. “I know,” And you let out a sigh of relief at that “and I will spend the rest of my life trying to make up for that, even though I will never be able to.”
You sat in silence for a while longer, and that was when you noticed Xaden slowly falling asleep. Clearly he was exhausted, you knew he didn’t sleep well in his desk chair, so you told him to lay down properly, which he did with no argument, clearly tired, and fell asleep as soon as you put the covers over him. You watch him for a moment, so calm and serene, before you get up and look at his books. You find one that you both adored as children. One about witches and wizards, and of course you grab it and sit down at the end of his bed, pulling the covers over your lap and start reading.
-
After a while, maybe 2-3 hours, Xaden wakes up to find you still reading away. He has a smile on his face seeing you read. Even though you’d read this book about 50 times, you still looked so fascinated reading it. He slowly gets up, catching your attention.
“Hey.” You say softly, knowing he hates when people speak loudly as soon as he wakes up. “Hey.” He says groggily, it's clear he’s still sleepy. “It's late, why are you still reading? We have class tomorrow.” He says sternly, although he yawns right after, making you let out a small laugh. “I didn’t wanna just leave. It felt wrong. Especially after the conversation we had.” You say truthfully. “Well lets go, it's time for both of us to get a good night's sleep.” He says getting up and throwing on a jacket. Tonight was cold. He hands you a jacket, Liam's jacket, which Liam probably left here when he dropped by while you were asleep, you had never even noticed it. Regardless, you quickly throw it on. Both of you make your way to the door and head out into the cold hallway.
-
Xaden doesn’t walk you back to your room. He knows that you hate being alone on especially cold nights, and third year dorms are warmer than the first years, so he can’t imagine how much you’d hate being alone in yours. So he walks you back to Liam's.
You quickly knock on Liam's door, freezing, regardless of the jacket you have on. Liam is quick to open his door.
“Hey sweetheart.” He says pulling you into a hug, knowing you're probably freezing. “Hey Xaden.” He nods at your brother. “What happened?” He says looking down at you. “I thought she’d wanna spend the night with you, given that it's freezing out, and I know first year dorms usually get the worst of it.” Both men hear you hum in agreement. “And she probably wants someone to baby her.” He says teasingly. “Shut up.” You say, burrowing yourself deeper into Liam's embrace. “Thats probably true.” Liam says in an equally teasing tone. You quickly pull away, punching Liam’s shoulder. “Assholes, I tell you.” you say offended. “Please, you know it's true.” Xaden says. “Goodnight Xaden.” You say. Quickly giving him a kiss on his cheek before pushing him away from the door. “Goodnight baby sister.” He says with a shit eating grin, before turning and walking back to the direction of his dorm. You quickly shut the door before turning to Liam. “And you,” You say before tackling him to the bed. “You’re supposed to be on my side, you dick.” You say straddling him. “I am, my love. Speaking of, how’d it all go?” He says completely switching the topic, which you allow. “It went really well. I feel like I finally have my big brother back Liam, this is amazing.” You say happily. “I’m so happy for you my love.” He says as he leans up and kisses your cheek.
“I love you Liam, so much. Thank you for everything.” You say hugging him close. “I love you too baby, I will always be here for you. No matter what. And that is a promise.” He kisses your neck, holding you impossibly close.
You had never felt so happy in your life. Surrounded by love and happiness, even in this hell you call home. You still found something that you haven’t had in so long,
Peace.

THE END!!
Author's Note:
I have so many little comments to make, but first I wanna start with saying thank you all so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading part 2 as much as I enjoyed writing it.
It was so sad at first, but as I kept going it was so much fun to write.
This is the longest thing I have ever written, so I am very proud of myself! Anyhoo, I added a few things that relate to me personally to this story. For example; showering after work, not going into bed (EVER) with outside clothes on (yuck), how reader is ticklish on her neck (I am super ticklish and feel like I would jump if someone kissed my neck softly–I won't be able to test this assumption for a while), how reader didn’t care for the acts of care–she wanted genuine care, reader being stubborn, and Xaden calling reader his ‘baby sister’ – my older sisters both do this (6 and 12 year age gap).
On a less happy note, the furthest I ever got with my attempt was writing out all my letters and having a plan and the idea of the date set. It was a very hard time in my life that I truly did not think I would get through, but clearly I did, and I am so happy I did. I am so happy now, and also much stronger than I was before. If you are going through something, do not hesitate to reach out to someone, hell even me. I am always willing to talk to you, even if I don't know you, even if you only read one of my works, I don’t care. You. Matter. So don't forget it.
About the story: Y/n is violets twin sister. Unlike violet y/n was trained to be a rider by her mother and to be a scribe by her father. The sisters have a strained relationship. Will y/n continue to resent violet because of the past or will she help her in surviving basgiath war college?

Chapter 1
Y/n pov:
I had already crossed the parapet and have already given my name 'Y/n Sorrengail' the youngest daughter of Lilith Sorrengail- the general and the most hated amongst the marked ones- the unexpected daughter, they thought it was only violet but surprise surprise there i was. They didn't have to tell me I was unwanted, their actions spoke louder. I didn't have the hair like my sisters, mine was the same as our mothers and I had kept it long too
I didn't see the point of being 'marked' the last I heard about them was that they were strong and most of them had survived the threshing making them worthy... As worthy as any other rider out there. When i think of it I was a marked one too but without the mark since before the rebellion.. since the day I was born actually
I am standing alone in one corner waiting for my sister to cross the parapet or get the news of her death. I can feel the glares of the marked ones even with my eyes closed. I open my eyes to see my twin enter I scan her to make sure she is okay (not that anyone would know I am checking on her) I see she is barefoot and is searching for someone as the girl beside her walks away from her after giving her the boots
I sigh softly and walk towards her "why were you barefoot?" I ask glaring at her instead of congratulating her for crossing the parapet "thank you for congratulating me sister i am well how are you?" She asks sarcastically "Violet" i say as a warning she sighs and runs her face "i gave my boots to the girl who was behind me" i raise my eyebrows at her explanation "why so?"
"because she needed it" she said looking away not making eye contact with me "and you didn't?" I glare at her she sighs "Y/n I would love to quarrel with you but I need to find Dain now" I roll my eyes and nods as she walks away searching for Dain
Dain Aetos he has been our- Violet's childhood friend. I wasn't as close to him as Violet was. Heck I wasn't even his friend. I thought his father was a little too suspicious so I kept my distance from Dain. He was not as suspicious but he was most definitely a daddy's boy
My thoughts were broken when they told us to assemble I stand behind my twin and the girl- Rhiannon- who gave me a polite smile while my twin was obviously nervous "Three hundred and one of you have survived the parapet to become cadets today," Commandant Panchek starts his speech "Good job. Sixty- seven did not."
"I've heard this position is just a stepping stone for him," Tara whispers who introduced herself to me when I stood behind my sister. "He wants Sorrengail's job, then General Melgren's." I raise my eyebrows at her words but don't say anything in return
"He'll never get it," violet says quietly, knowing my sister she would be thinking of all the statistics "Melgren's dragon gives him the signet ability to see a battle's outcome before it happens. There's no beating that, and you can't be assassinated if you know it's coming."
"As the Codex says, now you begin the true crucible!" Panchek continues "You will be tested by your superiors, hunted by your peers, and guided by your instincts. If you survive to Threshing, and if you are chosen, you will be riders. Then we'll see how many of you make it to graduation."
"Your instructors will teach you," Panchek promises, his hand sweeping to the line of professors standing at the doors to the academic wing. "It's up to you how well you learn." He swings his pointer finger at us. "Discipline falls to your units, and your wingleader is the last word. If I have to get involved." A slow, sinister smile spreads across his face. "You don't want me involved. With that said, I'll leave you to your wingleaders. My best advice? Don't die." He walks off the dais with the executive commandant
A brunette woman with wide shoulders and a scarred sneer stalks forward, the silver spikes on the shoulders of her uniform flashing in the sunlight. "I'm Nyra, the senior wingleader of the quadrant and the head of the First Wing. Section leaders and squad leaders, take your positions now My shoulder is jostled as someone walks by, pushing between Rhiannon and me. Others follow suit until there are about fifty people in front of us, spaced out in formation.
That's when I see him Xaden Riorson looking at me observing what I am doing. I maintain my eye contact not showing him any signs of fear. I wanted to be a part of the marked ones as they are known to be strong and for various other reasons. For that i need to earn their trust
"Sections and squads," violet whispers to Rhiannon as i overhear breaking my eye contact with Xaden to look at my sister "Three squads in each section and three sections in each of the four wings."
"Thank you," Rhiannon answers.
Dain stands in the section for Second Wing, facing us. I make eye contact with him giving him a smirk as he quickly averts his gaze
"First Squad! Claw Section! First Wing!" Nyra calls out.
A man closer to the dais raises his hand.
"Cadets, when your name is called, take up formation behind your squad leader," Nyra instructs.
The redhead with the crossbow and roll steps forward and begins calling names. One by one, cadets move from the crowd to the formation I observe each and every one of them. Tara is called into the Tail Section, and soon they start on Second Wing
Me, my sister and Rhiannon are called to Second Squad, Flame Section Second Wing. We get into formation quickly, lining up in a square
Xaden watches my sister with a calculating gaze as my sister lifts her chin. He then looks at me as we go back to our staring competition? He cocks his scarred eyebrow. Then he says something to Second Wing's wingleader, and then every wingleader joins in on what's obviously a heated discussion.
"What do you think they're talking about?" Rhiannon whispers. "Quiet," Dain hisses making me glare at him
'Gosh what is his problem' I think as i roll my eyes. I look at my sister who stiffness for a second maybe shocked he isn't the Dain she knows
Finally, the wingleaders turn around to face us, and the slight smirk on Xaden's lips makes my eyes narrow at him "Dain Aetos, you and your squad will switch with Aura Beinhaven's," Nyra orders. I raise my eyebrows at the sudden change not thinking much to it
Dain nods, then turns to us. "Follow me." He says it, then starts walking to the fourth wing
Xaden's wing
I look back at Xaden who is assessing us. "You're all cadets now" He says "Take a look at your squad. These are the oth people guaranteed by Codex not to kill you. But just because they can't end your life doesn't mean others won't. You want a dragon? Earn on the courtyard"
Most of the others cheer hearing his words, i see people talking to their squad mates as he continues
"Sixty-seven people fell or died in some other way today. Sixty-sever" Xaden looks at me and my sister , and I can see my sister feeling nervous... Maybe uncomfortable too? "And I bet you feel pretty badass right now, don't you, first-years?" More cheers. "You feel invincible after the parapet, don't you?" Xaden shouts. "You think you're untouchable! You're on the way to becoming the elite! The few! The chosen!"
Another round of cheers goes up but i know it's not cheers it's them... The dragons
"Oh gods, they're beautiful," Rhiannon whispers as they come into view- a riot of dragons.
A few cadets scream.
Steam blasts mine and my sisters face as the navy-blue one directly in front of us exhales through its wide nostrils. Its glistening blue horns rise above its head in an elegant, lethal sweep, and its wings flare momentarily before tucking in, the tip of their top joint crowned by a single fierce talon.
"We're going to have to bring the masons in again," Dain mutters as chunks of rock crumble under the dragons' grips, crashing to the courtyard in boulders
There are three dragons in various shades of red, two shades of green-like Teine, Mira's dragon-one brown like Mom's, one orange, and the enormous navy one
They are indeed very beautiful, each dragon has their own speciality and i love all of them. I will survive till the threshing. I glance at my sister who is observing the dragons. I have to protect her too, teach her. Maybe now we can forget the past and move on... Hopefully... My thoughts were stopped when a cadet bolts out of Third Wing, screaming as he makes a run for the stone keep behind us. We all turn to look as he sprints for the giant arched door at the center. I can almost see the words carved into the arch from here, but I already know them by heart. A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their aragon is dead.
The red dragon on the left opens its vast mouth, revealing teeth as big as I am. Fire erupts along its tongue, then shoots outward in a macabre blaze toward the fleeing cadet.
I scrunch my face in disgust because of the smell. I feel pity for the cadet as he had passed the parapet. That's what fear does. Showing fear in front of dragons is like a death wish
"Anyone else feel like changing their mind?" Xaden shouts "No? Excellent. Roughly half of you will be dead by this time next summer." The formation is silent except for a few untimely sobs from my left. "A third of you again the year after that, and the same your last ye No one cares who your mommy or daddy is here. Even King Tauri's secon son died during his Threshing. So tell me again: Do you feel invincible that you've made it into the Riders Quadrant? Untouchable? Elite?"
This time no one cheers. Not one sound came from any cadet
"Because you're not untouchable or special to them." Xaden points toward the navy dragon and leans forward slightly "To them, you're just the prey."
After the speech we were dismissed, I was bunking with my sister and Rhiannon. We will be getting individual rooms after the threshing
I lay on the bed as Rhiannon and Violet talk about the things that happened. I close my eyes as their voices fade in the background. Exhaustion pulling me to sleep

Reaching out blindly until your hand snags against the soft fabric of Liam’s sleep shirt, you take a shuddering breath as a surge of arousal locks you on the spot, every muscle coiling tight when you press your forehead to the wall and tug him closer. His thighs are bare and they flex when he stumbles towards you, bracing himself by means of a hand either side of your head, corded biceps caging you in when a ragged pant rips through you and you grit your teeth.
“Easy,” he murmurs, though his voice is strained, the veins that wrap the lengths of his forearms like vines protruding from the creamy skin. You suppress a pathetic little noise that bubbles from the base of your throat, tipping your head back as Liam’s hand makes contact with the skin there. “Shh, shh.”
“Li-“ you whisper through gritted teeth. “I need you to tell me to go away. I can’t- can’t control myself.”
“No-“ he says, quickly – too quickly, desperation lining his every syllable. You’re all too familiar with the feeling, the panic that seeps into his voice at the prospect of you leaving in search of another man’s bed. He’s not too proud to beg you. “No. Stay, please.”
The thought of you leaving is near unbearable now he’s close enough to touch you — feel you. Close enough to smell the shampoo in the wisps of hair that fall around your flushed face, close enough that the scent of you cloys in his nostrils and throws all inhibitions out the window.
His body presses against yours and the contact sets every nerve ending you possess alight. You tremble when he glides steady fingers - much steadier than you’re feeling right now - over your half-bare shoulder where your t-shirt has slipped downward, coming to a halt over your skittering pulse. His head falls forward into the juncture of your neck.
“Fuck.” His voice is rasping, barely there in your ears as Deigh does something Áine particularly likes and a crusade of need slams through him.
You thread your fingers through the blond tresses that tickle at your skin, pointedly ignoring the obvious disparity of your bodies, how his dwarfs your own, the way it makes your head spin with the need to get closer, to claw your way into his skin and feel every inch of him.
“Liam,” you whine softly, arching into him as those thick arms twine around your waist, pulling your torso flush to his own. He squeezes you, hands slipping beneath the t-shirt you’re clad in, palming and groping at every bump and ridge, every hill and valley of flesh he can reach. He ventures lower; your fingers tense where they still lay in his soft hair, and when his palms flatten and tap firmly at the backs of your thighs, you know what he wants.
You oblige the clear instruction, pushing yourself up from the balls of your feet until you’re in Liam’s arms, legs looped around his waist and ankles crossed at the base of his spine. Your back hits the wall as he surges forward to nose at your jugular. His lips part, tongue flicking forward to lave at your balmy skin. As his head dips, trailing a hot, wet path of half moons in the wake of his lips, you shudder.
“I know, my girl. I know,” he coos, sympathetic. His words slur and jumble, each sound melting into the next as though he’s drunk from the feel - the taste - of you alone.
The pet name would be enough to have you melting with affection under usual circumstances— now, it’s enough to have you whining, craning your head to slant your lips hungrily over his own, uncaring if it’s messy or filthy or downright sinful. Your only mission is to feel him, to get closer, to roam every inch of him with your ravenous tongue and teeth and lips— greedy for his touch.
If anyone were to walk in they’d certainly blanch at the sight; you pinned against the wall closest to the door of Liam’s room, his eager fingers splayed over your ass as you breathe into each other’s mouths. You’re unconsciously grinding down into him in quick, fervent bursts, and he reciprocates the movement appreciatively, letting you slide down the cold wall until the thick length of him presses to your wet cunt— hindered only by the fabric of his boxers and the lace of your panties.
The material is almost translucent, soaked through with your arousal. Liam coos something sympathetic that you can’t quite decipher for the fog that clouds your every nerve ending, for the hand that slips between your bodies until his thumb is rubbing tight circles into your swollen clit through the ruined fabric. Tears burn at the backs of your eyes and you tremble round him, the pleasure everything you need and somehow nowhere near enough, all at once.
“Shh, shh,” he murmurs. “‘ve got you, angel. ‘S okay.”
You gasp wetly against his kiss-bitten lips, the only warning you give as you begin shuddering against him, your climax ripping through you before you even have time to think. Everything is so sensitive, every brush and graze of his skin against your own amplified tenfold— it’s too much but still, you greedily accept everything he’s willing to give you, teary eyes trained to his throat that works around a swallow as he watches you cum with heavy lidded eyes. Babbling around a sob, you part your lips from his in favour of sinking down into the juncture of his neck, your hot cheeks searing against the cooler skin that greets you like a soothing balm.
“That’s it, fuck, that’s a good girl.”
“Liam,” you hiccup, grabbing large fistfuls of his t-shirt, the flimsy material the only thing that separates you from miles of toned skin and muscle. That lopsided grin cracks across his face, a dimple cratering onto the centre of his cheek as his teeth flash in an amused smile; his chest heaves, even more so when you slip your hands underneath his tee to palm at bare skin.
Setting you down on shaking legs, his hand encircles one of your wrists and tugs, leading you until you’re perched at the edge of the bed. He turns, elbows flaring wide as he pulls at the neckline of his shirt and drags the material over his head in one fluid motion. The planes of his back are bared to you, each individual muscle rolling and moving with one another as though they’re cogs in a well oiled machine. You want your mouth on every inch of that skin– no corner, no crevice left untouched.
And then he’s on you, prowling with a predatory glint in those cerulean eyes as his pupils swallow the bright hue of his irises; all he sees is you– the way you shrink and tremble at the fervent way he surveys you.
A wide palm slips beneath your own tee and curls around your ribcage, frantically rising and falling with every laboured breath. He shucks the fabric upward to expose your soft breasts to the cool air of the room, and watches with rapt fascination as your nipples harden into peaks under his attention.
You shift until you’re propped up on your elbows to allow him space to discard the item of clothing, complying when he nudges you until you’re flat against the mattress, legs hooked over his hips. Your head turns, face burning at the wolfish way his eyes rake over you, a great contrast to the flattened hands that scrub sweeping lines over the tops of your thighs to soothe your nerves.
“Don’t hide from me, angel,” he murmurs, folding at the waist to smear a kiss against the curve of your jaw. His next words are a rumble against your skin that seep into your pores, into your very bones. “If it gets too much for you, all you have to do is tell me. And we’ll stop. Okay?”
His cadence is low and rasping, and the feel of the bridge of his nose pressed to your cheek sending a wave of affection through you that knocks the breath from your lungs. You nod.
“Words, sweet girl.”
“Okay,” you croak.
“Good girl.”
Your pussy aches with a sharp throb when he reaches down to press his thumb back to your swollen bundle of nerves; you whine, hips canting up into his touch unconsciously as he slips the wet material down your legs and discards them somewhere behind him.
He presses a kiss to your tummy, your knee, your ankle, and then pushes your legs up and back until they’re folded atop your chest. You gasp when his warm breath fans over your bare sex.
“Liam.”
“I know, angel,” he grunts. His voice patters out into breathless silence as you part your thighs, splaying a hand across his thrumming pulse to wrench him upwards and towards you. He doesn’t resist, putty in your hands. Absolutely, wholly yours.
“Please,” you whisper; his nose brushes yours. “Need you.”
He parts your lips with his own, slaking his hunger on you. He revels in every noise he pulls from your slick lips, every whine and gasp and plead for him to give you what you want. He swallows them all greedily and when - and only when - he’s decided you’ve begged him prettily enough, does he free his weeping cock and line up with your entrance.
He sinks in slowly, every thick inch of him splitting you wider than the previous. He’s thick, cock twitching against your cunt as the flushed head practically begs to be buried inside of you. The colour bleeds from your knuckles as you clutch his biceps, leaving crescent moon indents in the wake of your cruel touch; he hisses, and when he’s fully sheathed inside of you, he sweeps down again to press wet, ardent kisses to your face and neck. He hooks your legs up against his hips, pulling back to rock back into the tight clutch of your cunt with slow, rhythmic movements.
He hits every spot inside of you without trying, the spongy head of him rubbing continuously over a particular spot you haven’t discovered yet; it has you keening, sobbing out a broken moan against his balmy cheek as he coos gentle praises against the shell of your ear.
His entire focus is fixated on him desperately trying to not blow his load at the first feel of your cunt clasping him, breathing deeply through his nostrils as he props a forearm either side of your head.
“Fuck, you’re perfect,” he gasps, picking up his pace as your enthusiasm starts to peak, your shaking fingers tangling in the short hairs at the nape of his neck. Your body arches beneath him, head tipping back when a soft whine spills from your swollen lips.
The lewd sound of slapping skin and heavy breathing encases your senses, drives you further to that edge that you’ve been aching for since you entered the room.
He’s so beautiful like this it sets you alight with adoration— and arousal: blond hair mussed and falling over his eyes, face flushed as he dips down to brush his nose with your own, plush, pink lips parted into a gasp when you clench around him.
“‘M so close, Li,” you croak, tightening your fingers where they’re carding through his hair.
“I know, angel. I know.” Deft fingers slide between your bodies as he works over your clit rhythmically— sweeping movements that alternate between tight circles and up and down motions as he places pressure on that bundle of nerves.
A sweet, quiet little gasp spills from your lips, and Liam doesn’t miss the way you tense, clinging to him harder as you shatter.
He coaxes you through it, movements never slowing as you ride out your peak, whining against his lips when he swallows your sounds with his mouth.
He doesn’t stop until you’re squirming and writhing beneath him, kicking your legs feebly to push him away; he shudders at the movement, back bowing in the centre until he’s spilling into you with a groan. He braces himself with his head buried in the juncture of your neck, arms hooking around the base of your spine to hold you flush to him.
You both collapse in a haphazard mound of limbs and you roll onto your side to face Liam, his cheek still pressed to yours. He brushes the bridge of his nose along the length of your cheekbone, his smile imprinted into your skin as you hum and needle your way closer into his chest.
You don’t know what to say— neither does he. This silence is comfortable regardless, the gentle, lulling energy encasing the pair of you in this bubble.
He brushes a stray lock of hair from your sticky forehead, smearing a kiss along the crown of your skull. Your lashes flutter, body soft and lax against his own as you greedily seep up his warmth. You’re weightless, your head pleasantly blank when he pulls the blankets over you, pressing a final kiss to your cheek before he’s pushing himself out of the bed and to the bathroom.
There’s some shuffling and then emerges seconds later, clad in a clean pair of boxers and clutching a t-shirt for you to take. You’re still how he left you, laying on your side and dozing, cheek smushed against the back of your hand.
“C’mon, angel,” he murmurs, hooking an arm beneath your shoulder to hike you upright, handing you the tee; you rub at your heavy eyes with the backs of your fingers, swiping the fog away. He settles himself between your legs to clean you up, swiping a tissue between your thighs.
“You don’t have to do that, Li,” you croak. “‘M okay, I’ve got it.”
You make to loop your fingers around his wrist to halt his movements, but he only tuts and swats your hand away with a smile. Affection rises in your chest, hot and fast and blinding.
“I’ve got you, my girl.”
There’s that name again. My girl. You’re melting, sure you’re nothing but a pile of mush following those two little words; he surveys you with those cerulean eyes, laced with nothing less than adoration.
“Liam,” you whine, protesting.
“Oh, hush.” He presses a kiss to the curve of your kneecap before pushing the blankets back over your legs.
You pull the oversized tee he’s pushed into your hands over your head appreciatively, resisting the urge to bury your face into the fabric and inhale at the scent of him that cloys the room, that swirls around your face in tantalising tendrils.
You love him, you realise. The admission isn’t terrifying as you thought it would be, but rather a calm wave that washes over you and grants you a newfound clarity. You want this all the time with him. You want everything.
The bed dips as he returns to your side, an arm around your waist until you’re both propped against the headboard, your face resting in the dip of his collarbone. You feel his cheek pressed to the top of your head.
Your chest feels as though it might cave in at any moment, the sheer volume of love you hold for this boy too much for your body to hold onto. You brush your lips against his shoulder, blinking slowly in your haze. The rumble of his laugh carries right down to your bones.
“You’re beautiful,” you mumble, already half-asleep.
“You’re more beautiful,” he whispers back as though it’s a secret. Private words shared between the pair of you, for no one else to hear.
You’re asleep before you can respond, draped lazily over his torso. He shucks the blankets up until they’re covering you right up to your shoulders. Your nose scrunches unconsciously.
I was reading a fourth wing fanfic and for some reason Wattpad removed it from my reading list and I’m going crazy trying to find it.
Basically at the end of the first book the oc saves Liam and Deigh by binding her soul to theirs or something like that. I know a few more things happen in the end battle and I’m not sure if she gets hurt from saving them or fighting before they go to Aretia. When they do make it or on the way her heart stops for a minute and I think Liam talks about feeling himself dying with her until she starts breathing again.
If anyone knows what the book or authors name is or if it’s on any platform PLEASE let me know. I’m going insane because I can’t read it now and it was starting on book two.
I’m sorry I know how bad of a description that was but I’m desperate
