Media literacy is not dead. Media literacy is a skill and skills need to be practiced skills don’t die. Literacy and comprehension are not hopeless causes and uses words like “media literacy is dead” “gen z/gen alpha is illiterate” are counter productive and encouraging hopeless and not trying. Even if you don’t work with kids you can help foster Cristal thinking and reading skills in the next generation by leading by example. Donating to local schools or libraries. Volunteering at schools and libraries if that option is available is important. Libraries are one of the very few free third spaces still available. Libraries have so so so many events/programs that encourage kids, teens and adults to read, craft, engage socially. Libraries and Schools need your help use your money, voice, time, VOTE to help literacy rates. With the rise of AI and social media being so accessible this issue is very important. Do whatever you can do to actually help literacy rates, reading comprehension and critical thinking. Talk critically and openly about the media you consume this will encourage others to think about media they might see as just funny or just background noise easy to digest. When scrolling through social media take a break to think about what’s on your feed.
Everybody's sad that the wizard didn't get picked and I'm over here just wanting to know more about Marlon or Gunther
#WerewolfWednesday Well actually more of a "Werejackal/cynocephalus" but it counts in my book ;) Would love to grow my collection of 'woodcut' werewolves so if some is interested in a piece like this let me know :D
Someone said this was an odd reading habit so now I’m wondering.
I switch between formats while I’m reading books based on my mood (sometimes I’m in the mood for an audio book/ebook/physical copy.) And I will switch multiple times writhing the same book.
Do you switch between different formats when reading the same book?
I switch between all formats based on mood (audio/ebook/physical book)
I switch between two formats (audio and text) within the same book
I exclusively use one format and never switch
I switch formats but only with different books
Example I will read the ebook version at night and play the audio book while I drive to work. And might even switch to a physical copy (if I have it/ if I’m at the library.) I prefer to read ebooks because I can take notes while I read right in the app (if I’m reading a different way I will come back to my ebook and add my thoughts as a note)
