Just found out I get a bonus and a raise. Of course I only get 50% of the bonus, the government gets the rest. Heaven forbid I actually get to keep the majority of my reward for working hard.

I also filed my taxes. If I had stayed in greedy MD, I would’ve owed almost $3000. Fortunately I got a refund (sadly it wasn’t even close to $3000.)

This is been my yearly reminder of why I am a libertarian.

Day one of my American Lit Class

Prof: Please write your name on the index cards, I keep a detailed note system on every one of my students. That way if someone calls asking asking about you for a job or if you ever said anything critical of the government, I can say, uh... yes, I remember Miss... Weiler, was it?

Me: Yes. And hundreds of times. I'm doomed already.

Prof: ... Right. And on that note, if you don't want your information documented, please pass up $75 with your named index card.
