Home Decor, 1929
A huge former building for trains was converted to a public library in Tilburg, The Netherlands, and it is being called Tilburg’s new “living room.”
All the original rusty beams are still in place, and the building also houses a cafe and a game room. There’s also lots of greenery.
I would go nuts if I worked in a library like this. Mine is in an Historic building, but this is magnificent.
Love how they put a tabletop on this old train base and kept the tracks.
The ceiling on the top floor has a gravity-defying book shelf.
I always wanted cute stuff like this in our Children’s Dept. This is an amazing idea.

Can you imagine having Gothic Revival library shelving like this one at the Strawberry Hill house at Yale Univ.?
