One of the weirdest, most curving conversational lines I've been part of in a long time. <3 you guys
lieutenant-axle started following you
...Lieutenant? Cliff knew he'd heard that word somewhere before. On one of the Earth datapads, wasn't it? Ah. Yes. Seemed to be the equivalent of a rank around Minor or Major. He wasn't quite sure. Concluding that this was another multi-verse incident, the Head of Intel nodded respectfully at the mech, 'Axle'. "Welcome. Can I help you?"
Where to begin...
An exasperated vent left the white Autobot as he reviewed the progress he'd been making when it came to repairs. Still hardly any positive change. The inactivity was slowly grinding at him, leaving him to his own devices when it came to doing anything that wasn't mulling over the past. Axle's injuries gave him far too much time to think. With this, he was left staggering about the Base staring at monitors and datapads that rarely updated, or running though old combat exercises - though actually preforming them was another matter entirely.
During one such fit of restlessness, Axle found himself numbly moving back though the interior, pausing when he caught sight of Skyler's form on the landing where the two girls' would lounge. He'd not spoken to her of the encounter with Breakpoint since she'd returned out of Dallas' request, seeings how it'd shaken them both. The stray brush of her fingers to her back hadn't gone unnoticed - knowing all too well the feeling - and perhaps against his better judgement, he approached the platform with caution.
"How are you holding up?" He asked plainly as he paused behind the human and her couch. At least with the elevated space he and she were closer to level.
With a sigh, Skyler closed the book and pushed it to the side, only then realizing it had been upside down. Well, then. She probably looked stupid and obvious using it. Giving up all pretense of hiding, the woman leaned over the back of the couch, looking at the room upside-down. "Oh. Hi, Axle." Quickly, she sat up and turned to face the white mech. "I'm...good, I guess." Skyler glanced at his new injuries. "Your repairs, are they helping any?" Why was he worried about her when his own wounds had been so much worse? She sighed, at least there were people (of multiple species) looking out for his well-being.
