This is Amira Meade, my Life in Frames founder! This Legacy Challenge was written by @sulsulmelli.

After graduation, she started working as a photographer at Mode, her family’s company in San Myshuno. She’s focused on work to pay off nearly 20k in college debt without relying on her parents.

She met Owen at work. They shared a heat of the moment kiss.

On a random weekend, she went out with coworkers to the Stargazer Lounge. Yes, Owen included.

Over there, she ran into Cory (a college fling) and got involved with him.

The next day, she woke up at Owen’s place, realizing she had also been with him that same night after he “competed” with Cory to take her home.

Den 8 maj åkte jag till Göteborg för ett par dagars häng hos bästa vännen. Det var längesedan jag var här! Missbruket avvecklade mitt liv, mitt mod och livsvilja. Igår (onsdag den 14:e när jag gör det här inlägget) är det i 50 dagar som jag varit helt ren <3 1. Packningen redo. Packade lätt då den gamla rullväskan givit upp och var slängd. 2. Köpte mig en lax-bagel och fortsatte läsa favoritboken "Beroende" av Nemo Hedén. Igenkänningen har fått mig att gråta flera gånger. Den är fantastisk och jag blir typ kär i honom varje gång pga just bara det. Resan gick på fjuttiga 3,5 timme vilket inte kändes som någonting. Intill mig hade jag en söt liten dam som påminde mig om min egna gudmor. Hon åt en kycklingsallad och väl framme i Göteborg klappade hon min arm och tyckte jag hade varit en sådan fin och bra reskamrat. 3. Vi fick en sådan fin kväll med sol på balkongen så länge det bara gick innan den försvann bakom hustaken. Vi drack vin, pratade om allt bla om Kanye West nya låt. Hur många gånger har den mannen tappat det? :P 4. Kurt boxade syrran Kiwi på huvudet med fluffiga tassar!

Amira and Owen have been peacefully co-parenting since deciding not to be together and focus on Ayla instead. He takes Ayla three days a week and has stepped up as a great dad, after being strongly encouraged to make his apartment less of a biohazard.

Her work life has settled down a bit. She’s now tutoring photography as well, which she’s been really enjoying, especially because it works well around Ayla’s schedule.

Ayla is growing fast. She’s already sitting up on her own and crawling around.

At Christmas, the family spent the evening in Ciudad Enamorada at Aunt Ava’s house. That’s where Amira unexpectedly ran into Cory, who was working the event. Their last fallout had been ugly, but this time they both apologized and actually made peace.

Things escalated very quickly after Cory found out she wasn’t with Owen. What started as a hug somehow ended with Amira kissing her ex in her aunt’s pantry...

A few weeks later, Amira had her first real night out since giving birth. Ayla was with Owen, and Cory took her to a nightclub. The night was exactly what she needed. She felt like herself again. Free, confident, desired, and able to reconnect with a version of herself that motherhood had temporarily put on pause.

After drinks, dancing, and some very poor but enjoyable decisions, she brought Cory back to her parents’ house once they were asleep. She doesn’t want Cory for anything serious, but there was comfort in the familiarity and chemistry they used to have.

When Owen brought Ayla back a few days later, Amira ended up telling him about Cory because they were open and honest with each other.

Owen took it badly, even while trying not to show it. He admitted he thought there was still something between them and was clearly hurt by how fast things had moved from his perspective.

By the end of the conversation, Owen left quietly, but obviously heartbroken.

Amira agrees to marry Cory, and her family travels to Tartosa for the wedding. Everything is perfect until Owen shows up and crashes the ceremony, asking her not to go through with it. When he confronts her, Amira confesses that she accepted because she needs stability. She has just discovered she's pregnant with Cory’s baby.

After the wedding, Cory promised he’d still be around for the baby, but so did Owen. Kaleb was born after a very hectic pregnancy, but he was going to be deeply loved, and in the end, nothing else mattered.

So Cory reacted badly to the pregnancy news. There was awkward silence, weird questions, then he suddenly jumped to talk about marriage and moving in.

It quickly became clear it wasn't about Amira or the baby, but about the stupid competition with Owen, and he didn't even want the child.

Amira refused, ended things, and decided she'd take a DNA test later. Then she'd let him know who the father is.

Happily, Owen showed the complete opposite reaction to the news. He focused on Amira's feelings first.

She later told him he was the father, and he was genuinely happy. They grew closer through small moments (doctor visit, terrible jokes, and him opening up about his past).

Amira starts feeling emotionally dependent on his presence during the pregnancy. She blames her hormones, but questions if it’s something deeper.

Despite that, she decides not to be with him and to prioritize Ayla’s stability over a potentially messy relationship.

Ayla is born after a difficult labor. Amira has issues with anesthesia, but Owen stays supportive, present, and panicking.

Ayla is born calm, very different from her parents.

Gen 1 comes to an end with Amira and Owen finally getting married. With Ayla all grown up, Owen is ready to pursue his dream of going to college, and soon it'll be Ayla's turn to start that chapter too. As we say goodbye to Amira's story, a new one is just beginning.

Amira with her bridesmaids: her sister Vivi, her best friend Mia, and Ayla, who was not going to accept being anything less than a bridesmaid.

Cory met Clara on a random baby shower, and they reunited at the wedding. Thngs seem to be going well.

And of course, Owen and Amira had a very productive honeymoon.
