I went to an outdoor concert with a friend a few weeks ago and was overcome with the urge to draw, but I didn't have any inspiration on what, so I ended up drawing my friend. I spent an hour on the initial rough and thought I'd leave it at that, but then my friend really wanted to show off the piece, and my artist's pride kicked in. So, of course, I had to spend another 10+ hours actually fleshing it out lol. I love how it turned out, and it's such a pleasant memory to look back on.

Last night a few folks and I had the lovely opportunity to go into the archives of the Museum of Natural History in Halifax, Nova Scotia to draw! My favourites were the holotypes (not pictured) and the early amphibian prints. I also adored seeing their tiny but mighty salmon collection (of course) :-)

Sometimes I remember why I decided to study art in the first place.

Cause like, I already have a diploma. One with honours, mind you. In international economic relations. Like a good kid I was.

I just didn't love it.

Now, when I do art? It's difficult. I often doubt myself. I can never be even close to top of the class.

But I'm happy.

I literally smile in classes at times! I love some things that I do, actually! It makes me feel alive!

Like look at these two! I do like Curufin more but I'll work more on them maybe probably.
