a light sleeper  ---  she was surprised she hadn’t been woken up earlier.  but the sun shone though the curtains, indicating that the whole night  ( well, most of the night ) had passed.  illana didn’t try to cuddle after sex, hating the too-warm sticky, sweaty feeling, but she often ended up with her head on another’s chest, legs tangled in the sheets.  which, of course, DID happen.  maybe she ought to apologize for this, the chance of things becoming awkward far too high  ;;  but as eyes flutter open, shifting as the light flooded her field of vision, she couldn’t help the small smile at his suggestion.   ❝ ...  i can make waffles while you work on the bacon? ❞

Elaine pounces on Darren’s back, a pillow in hand. “IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME. WHAT. THE. FUCK.” After each word of the phrase, she smacks him in the head with the pillow. Happy birthday, Darren.

Gen wasn’t particularly good at pool, she lost more than she won. Maybe because she hardly aimed and just played to pass the time. Regardless, the girl was coming out on top, somehow, and she was just as surprised as her new friend, Darren, was.

@lifefcrdeath gets a plotted thing

“Darren?” She called, closing the door behind her and looking back to the home in front of her. She didn’t usually show up unannounced but he’d said she could if she needed and… today was a day she needed it, needed him.

She’d lost her fight for the mother-son duo she’d been telling him about the last couple weeks. She’d been overridden and overruled and the boy had been taken over her protests, leaving her having to keep her head held high and her emotions locked away while he screamed for his mother and his mother broke down in tears.

She was the one who’d done that. She’d been that boy once upon a time, she’d been dragged away from her parents fighting tooth and nail (and dislocating her shoulder in the process) and her parents had willingly given her up. She couldn’t imagine how much worse it would have been if they’d been crying to keep her.

She needed Darren to tell her it was the job. That it could be fixed, that she could help fix it. She forgot that sometimes; he was good at reminding her. “Dare?” She called again, her voice cracking a little.

“Do you have anything planned this weekend?” Clarke asked, sitting on his kitchen island, she was munching on some fruit loops while she spoke. The whole thing was oddly domestic, given their situation, but she pushed that thought from her mind.
