So lifeguards at the public pool au? Feat. LIBERAL use of the whistle by lwj (he has the handbook memorized. don't fuck with him or he'll ban you from the slides for the WHOLE SUMMER.), bad tan lines on EVERYONE, wwx trying to eat various frozen treats from the snack bar sexily, there's a turtle that keeps wandering over from the mini golf course next door and the pool staff have maybe unofficially adopted it, a-yuan in waterwings, spraying sunscreen on your coworker crush is totally fine...!

...the last time I was at a public pool was when I was in primary school and almost never an outdoor one without being forced to by the school sooooo

LWJ wears swimming trunks. WWX wears Speedos. 

LWJ does not cope with that well

WWX always miss that One Spot on his back when he applies sunscreen and it drives LWJ crazy

when he finally cracks and tells WWX to Fix It Now, WWX just winks and asks him if he’s offering to do it for him

LWJ.exe has stopped working. What would you like to do?

NHS has an ongoing game with himself to see how long he can keep hiding JC’s whistle before JC finds out and strangles him with it

JC always spends like the first 15 mins of the day doing stretches

NHS almost always arrives about 5 minutes in, just as JC is doing lunges and squats

he always offers LWJ a taste and LWJ always declines

(he’d much rather taste it from WWX’s mouth)

A-Yuan is learning to swim! he always has his bright red floaties around his arms and a really cool kickboard that Xian-gege helped him decorate

his favourite is when WWX pretends to be a shark and chases him around the pool cos he can kick really fast now! Xian-gege almost never catches him!

one time, JC, WWX and NHS prank LXC and NMJ by locking them both in the staff changeroom and pretending to lose the key and then keeping everyone else far away from there for a few hours

(the verbal beatdown was totally worth it when the two of them emerge red-faced and...showered? in different clothes? ARE THOSE DAGE’S CLOTHES XICHEN-GE)

LWJ watches this unfold disapprovingly

(but secretly files it under Plans to Seduce Wei Ying)

after a whole summer of watching WWX parade around in Speedos and licking icy poles, LWJ finally Loses It at the staff party and snatches said icy pole away and eats it all in one go

he gets mad brain freeze, but WWX is too busy staring to laugh

when he finally recovers, he just stares at WWX, red-faced and breathing heavily and then passes out

(turns out WWX was eating a vodka-laced icy pole he’d brought from home to share with NHS and JC just for the party)

some time during the night, he wakes up with his head in WWX’s lap

they’re lying on the grass by the pool and WWX is humming

he smiles down at LWJ and says he’s really cute when he’s drunk

LWJ starts Panicking but WWX is laughing and it’s Really Cute but also Very Embarrassing so LWJ does the only thing he can think of and kisses him
