Happy Swedish National Day!

Today, I went out for awhile. Took a break from my take home exam and would like to know if there was anything happen to celebrate Swedish National Day in the downtown. Also, because I did not have any food at home, I had to get some to survive. :p

I went to the centre with Benni. But apparently, there was nothing so special in the city today, only small celebration in front AF Building from the veterans and some parties in several buildings, such as in AF Building and Grand Hotel. But the weather today was super nice. Yaps, today was the warmest weather in this year. Finally, summer is coming! Sommar i Lund!

When we passed by a building next to Historika Museum, there was an open gate that we never have seen before. We entered the gate with curiosity and would like to find out if there is anything inside the building. Nej! There was nothing, except the small fountain. Hahahaha...

Don’t you miss your childhood moment when everything seems so free and no fear to try something new? Yes, I do! Generally, when you were a child, you wanted to grow up soon because you felt that adult people possibly have freedom to choose, have opportunities to go anywhere without restriction, have a strong voice to express their feeling. But, once you are getting old, you want to be like a child. When you had so many imaginations without fear, when you had a dream that only you could imagine, when you could try something totally new without any guilty feeling. After all, we are just human. Regular jogging track!

The weather today is so cloudy. But I still did my morning routine, jogging. I did it regularly in this past few days. I pushed myself to run every morning. I felt so much fresh and positive, though it’s so hard to begin every single day. But, once I did it, I never regret.

Jogging is kinda my stress relief to calm down my feeling and emotion. Too much thinking lately, though I guess it is a normal life of postgrad student. So, for you, who want to continue your master degree, rethink first, particularly for studying abroad. An advance advice. Hehehe :) The only thing that can you do is trying to enjoy every single moment. Everything shall pass, and all is well. :)

I read Thich Nhat Hanh book this morning after jogged, in part 3 Looking Deeply. One of the subparts is Exploring Our Fear. I read this part carefully and point out one paragraph that I thought it had a very deep meaning.

There is many cells inside your body that are dying as you read these words. Fifty to seventy billion cells die each day in the average human adult. You are to busy to organise funerals for all of them! At the very same time, new cells are being born, and you don't have the time to sing Happy Birthday to them. If old cells don't die, there’s no chance for new cells to be born. So death is a very good thing. Its very crucial for birth. You are undergoing birth and death in this very moment. 

Yeaps, sometimes we can accept fear of suffering or dying. But, I used this as a suffering context. We fear to face our suffering, so do I. We often run to leave it behind. Run and run. However, it cannot be heal if we don't take care of it. We need to embrace it. Know that we are suffering. Know that we are stress. Know that we are fear. By doing so, we can hug it, and it can reduce the feeling itself. Now, I am practicing to do it every single moment. Not easy though. But, everything shall pass.

The library catchers!

Yeaps, I guess those are the best words to describe people who are willing to queue in the early morning before the library is opened, not for all libraries tho. That happened particularly in one of the newest library in Lund, Lux Bibliotek. Therefore, if you come late, even only 5 or 10 minutes, all the hot seats have been fully occupied. This morning, I joined them. I am looking for and idea about my individual paper. Let’s conquer it! I can do it for sure. :D

Sunny Sunday!

Let me write something about my activities today while waiting for Monica. Yeaps, I have a fika appointment today. And since my phone battery run off, I decided to have a cup of coffee in Espresso House and then I can charge my phone. Not many option to go actually. Because not many cafes open during Sunday in Lund because people enjoy their time at home. Work-life balance, I bet. Hehehe :)

Anyway, today, I was working with my group for a group paper for Sustainable Development and Natural Resources Management. We are doing case study for fishery management in Papua New Guinea. Honestly, I never thought that I am gonna write about that kind of thing in my life, never ever. But, this program makes me think more, development is super broad. It is more than I expected before I came here. You cannot explain the development only in a few sentence. What kind of development that you mean, which part, in what context? Everything has different characteristics. It is not just about the number. Now, I become more social constructivist, I guess. Even, some of my friends call me “Depends on Yuliawati”. Hahahahaha

Then, after group work, my friend and I went to have a lunch. We decided to have the burger today and went to have McDonalds. Thereafter, we went to Botaniska Trädgården, kind of a botanical garden, to have our burger there. It was super freaking freezing there. However, I like that place. Will be back there again in the warmer spring time for sure. It will be prettier, I guess.

Now, I am here, waiting for Monica.
