I’m Buddhist but this fly buzzing around my apartment is such a living mindfulness practice! Usually maggie the cat would figure it out for me but she isn’t here. Ah, dukkha. So what do I do? Try to open my window and see if it does out. And if not, turn to living with the fly for now. We notice 1) what’s happening 2) my attitude about it and my preference 3) choiceful action or non action. That’s all applied mindfulness/loving awareness is. As I’ve said before, Life IS the practice. Live with awareness of interbeing. And sometimes that’s toothaches and flies. Often it’s much more grave like Texas or Brazil. And, it’s the same.
