There have been always those who stand by me and support me in any ways to help me realize what it means to study and to learn. When feeling enervated, I think of people around me who are the source of power that encourages me throughout. Thinking of them, I could re-realize that I am not alone and feel so much blessed that I am embraced by these great scholars in this program. Thank God for allowing me to work with these lovely people in this great community.

What is love?

Most of the time these questions come running through our minds and we always ask ourselves this question, ONLY when we get hurt by our significant other. Am I right?

We only ask this question  What is love?)during the time we get hurt or even after and then use it as a poor excuse to others, for what though? To gain sympathy & pity from others? I've been through it, I was it, how about you?

But had you ever thought about this question before?

We only ask others " what is love? " When they are either feeling lonely, sad, mad, or in an emotional stage in life.

Well, I am gonna be completely blunt to ALL you ladies & Gents. STOP GETTING WITH THE WRONG PERSON. Take your time to figure out a person and see if you two connect! Not at the fact that this girl/guy got "Swag" or He/she is handsome/cute/pretty/good-looking and etc.

I really hate it when someone says " I want to find someone with personality. I don't care about the looks. Looks are just a plus" That's complete Bull! Looks matters most to alot of us and sometimes the prettiest girl or the Cutest looking guy can have the ugliest personalities, which will lead to hurt, which will obviously lead you back to this question that will come back like if it was on repeat.

What is love?

Remember that your potential partner might be in front of you the whole time. You were just afraid to see it. 

When you get the chance, take it!

Madea Knows Best - A Very Important Life Lesson

Hello readers,      today I am going to share a very important life long lesson about the various roles people will play throughout your life. For those of you who have seen Madea before you probably know what's coming. For those who haven't, get ready for a mouthful of brutally honest advice guaranteed to empower if not inspire. Madea sure does have a way with words and when it comes to life, she knows best. Only Tyler Perry would be able to deliver a message so insightful while still maintaining a sense of humorous reassurance. 

So what exactly will today's lesson teach me? Well, in simple terms how to be in control of your life. If you can't directly relate to this advice at the moment, you can probably apply the same advice elsewhere. The monumental quotes come in around the 4:40 mark. Remember to keep an open mind and let Madea do the rest. 

  If What You Got Is Common Sense, Listen up! 

A Few Things To Remember

"You can't change somebody, that's a waste of time."

"If somebody wants to walk out of your life let them. Especially if you know you've done everything you can." 

"Some people come into your life for a lifetime, some for only a season and you have to know which is which. And you're always messing up when you mix those seasonal people up with lifetime expectations." 

"Some people come into your life to teach you one thing and one thing only."

(Now for my favorite part, The Tree Theory)

"I put everybody that comes into my life in the category of a tree. Some people are like leaves on a tree. When the wind blows they're over there......wind blows that way they're over here.....they're unstable. When the seasons change they wither and die, they're gone. That's alright, most people are like that. They're not there to do anything but take from the tree and give shade every now and then. That's all they can do. But don't get mad at people like that, that's who they are. That's all they were put on this earth to be, a leaf." 

"Some people are like a branch on that tree. You have to be careful with those branches too, because they'll fool you. They'll make you think they're a good friend and they're real strong but the minute you step out, they'll break and leave you high and dry." 

"But if you find two or three people in your life that's like the roots at the bottom of that tree you are blessed. Those are the kind of people that aren't going anywhere. They're not worried about being seen, nobody has to know that you know them, they don't know what they're doing for you but if those roots weren't there, that tree couldn't live." 

"The tree could have a hundred million branches but it only takes a few roots down at the bottom to make sure that tree gets everything it needs. When you get those roots hold on to them, but the rest of it....just let it go, let folks go."

"If people are trying to communicate and fix things with you that shows that they care. Keep them around, it's a leaf trying to grow up into something else." 

"If people keep hurting you after you told them there is a problem, they don't care. Move on and let them go."

"Letting go of people will get easier once you learn to love yourself. You just have to make it through and learn how to be alone. If you can't be alone what are you going to do with someone else?"

"Be happy by yourself. People put up with dysfunction just to have someone there when it's destructive." 

"And lastly....If you can't go into your house and have peace, something is wrong."

I often ponder what life would be life if I had Madea as my personal go to friend. (probably pretty amazing!) It's always enlightening to hear words of wisdom from someone who has an understanding of life on life's terms. For me, this couldn't have come at a better time. Letting go of toxic people is liberating and can help improve many different areas of your life. Whether you're working towards a goal, career, or change of lifestyle a good support group is crucial to have around. Keep your roots strong let folks go!
