Food For The Soul
An old but trusted book said,”Man must live, not on bread alone.” Bread often symbolizes food which indeed is very essential in our lives. It sustains our body to continue in functioning as humans in the earth. But what does this old proverb tells us about life? Certainly, one must live not only to breathe and eat but also to find purpose of existence.
As we grow up, we are starting to ask questions and we have this unexplainable hunger to dig in for answers. Have you ever wonder what it takes to find true joy? We may find pleasure in eating delicious foods, buying new clothes or finding a nice house, but could those be possibly give us a joy that we couldn’t ask for more? True joy is a fruitage of having a powerful force that comes from above. Have you ever experience a big problem but surprisingly you surpass it?
Have you ever wonder why earth was amazingly structured? Water in liquid form exists on earth because our planet is located at the perfect distance from the sun. If it were just a little closer, all the water would boil off, leaving a hot, lifeless rock. If the earth were just a little farther from the sun, all the water would freeze, turning the earth into a giant ball of ice. Why does Earth was the only planet that can sustain life? Does it make sense if we try to find why are we here?
Life is a precious gift. We must feed not only our physical body but also our spiritual body. Because external things cannot satisfy the inner soul. Genuine happiness lies on the lines that are connected in the heaven. So it is something that the eyes cannot see nor the skin can touch. It is something that was engraved in our heart. A feeling of having a strong bond with the Creator.
Same as we make efforts to prepare a delicious meal, we could try our best to look for the key that sets us free from ignorance. We can surely find the hidden insights that are considered as food for thoughts that can make the soul feel full and satisfied. For the old but trusted book also said,”keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you.”
