You make your mark by being true to who you are and letting that be your staple.

We've lived in the shadows for too long.

Guiding Light
There has been a lot circulating in the media, news, press etc about mental health and people's everyday struggles and this got me thinking about how lost many people become and how many become a shadow of their former selves and can't find a way to get back to the person the used to be. I wrote this poem to try and inspire anyone who has lost their way or no longer feels like the person they used to be: The world was dark and dreary There was no hope of tonight So I sat there weary Until the morning came into sight I looked into the new day And what did I see A little ray of light Shining down on me So here's a message to those Who've struggled their whole life through Completely lost themselves And don't know what to do That little ray of light Allowed the world to see That the dark and dreary night Was now nowhere to be That bright day Filled souls with hope Brought the mind and bay And allowed others to cope People who are in darkness Don't close your eyes and lose sight Open your eyes to a new day And let in the light Don't let the darkness consume you Let yourself see another day And many more days too And don't lose your way For when you are lost And don't know what to do Open your eyes to a new day And let the light guide you. -lifes-little-things1
Oh! Do not attack me with your watch. A watch is always too fast or too slow. I cannot be dictated to by a watch.

A word after a word after a word is power.

Perfect
Everybody's perfect In their own special way But not everyone can see this And most don't have a say In the perfect body images That they put in magazines Leading people to starve themselves To look like the next beauty queens If everyone could figure out That it's not how they look It's what's inside that counts Not the rubbish in the books Then it could be possible That people would start to see The true beauty around them Including the beauty in you and me For in truth nobody's perfect The magazines are wrong There's no perfect image Instead just a feeling that we all belong And in these magazines It's about time they knew That perfect isn't real And that perfect isn't true In reality perfect doesn't exist And perfect we'll never be For in this modern day society Perfect we will never see. -lifes-little-things1
