Adulting: Health Concerns

I have been all over the place the past few weeks. Mostly with my health concerns on the rise. Have I ever stated adulting is hard? If not then there you have it. I’d love to be a child again, harassing my mom and getting into all kinds of ruckus.

Lately, I have experienced extended menstrual cycles, daily migraines, fatigue and random moments of nausea. The struggle has been real.

Life lessons learned from running...again...

I had been so consistent with running, like every day for months. Then, I started to get that old knee pain again with added mileage. So I cut back. Then work got stressful...and pretty much all of life got stressful. So I stopped except for an occasional run. I had not been writing about my runs since it was just something I was trying to make last. I didn’t want to jinks my running  lifespan. 

Yesterday, I ran and workout with my sister. She said I needed a buddy to keep working out or else I would stop. I realized she was right...Lately I haven’t had my running buddies. I remember cool spring mornings putting my shoes on and listening to some chill music and taking my Bear dog out for a short or long run. I would marvel at the sunrise or sunset if it was an evening run. Then I would talk to God. It was like my own escape from life to my safe place with my Father. 

I’ve been through a lot in my short years...some of it has been very damaging and has required a lot of time and effort to recover. I’m still not recovered from some things. But that’s where I could always count on my safe place. I could talk to the one person I knew could handle anything. But then I stopped that too...

So this morning, I went to my safe place again. This has been a rough month...But it’s like I remembered my safe place that I had forgotten was still there. So Bear and me went. I feel much more at peace even though everything still is crazy. Cliche as this may sound, I know God’s got me...got us...

Plus, after a run, I always feel better!
