Death note au idea, what if Kira isn't real and the heart attacks are all just coincidences but L sets out to investigate anyway because he's so desperate for a case worthy of his time and efforts and Light is L's imaginary friend that he talks to sometimes and everyone thinks L is going crazy but he's 100% sure that this teenage boy that he made up in his head is responsible for everything because he comes to him in his dreams and they play chess so he starts forging evidence just to prove it and then the police end up arresting him because now all the evidence point to him.

Or something.

Light can exist as soichiro's son still or he can not, that's up to interpretation. It's more about L being lonely than anything else I think. And I think it's plausible, because even though you'd think L wouldn't be able to be tricked by his own dreams/hallucinations I think he would as long as he believed at least part of them to be true.

So funny that light spent MONTHS in close physical proximity with the guy he wanted to kill and the only thing he did in that time was try to figure out his name. Did not even try to kill L by actually doing the murder himself because that prick would never get his hands dirty or admit he really is just a plain old murderer.
