This year's LC week was freaking incredible and I was privileged to oversee a ship week event that got us 180 fanfics in one go. It was incredible to see not just so many classic Lightcannon authors come out of their caves to do a full Week, but also so many new fresh talents join the community.
And so many people finished all 8 prompts! Which was bonkers. I was actually one of them, for the first time, and very proud of myself!
Unfortunately the one downside was that there were just....so many new fics to read in LC week that a few got lost in the flood. So I'm gonna give my LC week collection a shameless plug since they're some of my best work to date and just in case any of my regular readers missed them, here they all are!
My theme this year was "Skinlines", and all 9 entries (yep, I did an extra one, Faerie Court and Spirit Blossom were both too good not to do) are based on various League skinline appearances of Lux and Jinx! Wherever there wasn't a Jinx or a Lux in the skinline, I invented one!
This is a real all-you-can-eat buffet of different flavors, genres and moods! Whether you're up for silly but nostalgic retro romance, wistful and tragic folktales, whimsical adventures, apocalyptic doomed lovers, thrilling action, quirky cake rivalries, rebel street artists vs dystopian AI sci-fi, zany zombie splatter comedy or smoky, atmospheric film noir crime thriller, I've got you covered!
Enjoy! And please leave me some comments, I crave your thoughts on these skinlines and if you want to see more of them...or all of them! 🙄😜
For Lightcannon, across all stars, in every single dream 💛💙🔦💣
Omgg!!! I can't believe I finished this piece, I swear it was so forgotten in my gallery I thought I was never going to finish it, but here we are!! and I'm actually proud of how it looks like. I DON'T draw humans so this was a painful but really cultivating experience and I hope to draw more of my babies as the Nanas cause I love them both. Hopefully I'll come back with more for lightcannonweek but now more experimental idk maybe make them kitties cause that's easier for me 😭 Oh and these are direct Nana panels from the manga, so all the references are from there, the variations are in posing and characters.
So basically, Jinx fails at reading and mistakes Lux as the sender of a contract. Lux can't help but feel sorry for Jinx's absolute fail and just goes along with it for the next month.
But also, she's never been kissed by a girl before and would very much like the opportunity to receive some more.
And if I land hard on the unforgiving ground, at least it’s next to you.
There was that awful dream. Lux sat cold in her chair, arms slumped on her desk, awakening with a start. She felt Poppy’s hand on her arm, gently shaking her out of her slumber, before Poppy darted back into her own seat while their teacher was facing the chalkboard.
“Are you okay?” Poppy whispered gently as Lux blinked once, twice, trying to ground herself back into her reality.
“Yes,” she whispered back with a grateful smile, swivelling her head lightly to turn to Poppy.
Lux looked forwards again, exhaling slowly. That horrid dream truly hit her at the worst of times. If her subconscious was determined to torture her, could it at least wait until she was in her bed at home and not in the unwelcoming, cramped chair in her class? She wanted to bottle up that dream and throw it as far away and she could…
Lux and her team, the Star Guardians, falling. Falling to a merciless, unheroic landing, the impact beyond their defence. Her friends, her teammates falling. Her Jinx falling.
It felt even more vivid, even more lucid, even more chilling this time. But why? Why did it have to be turned up to extremes? Slowly, looking over longingly at Jinx’s empty desk, decoratively scratched with a plethora of wildly spirited doodles, it dawned on Lux just why that dream was turned up to an all time hell this time.
It was one day that she was dreading.
Jinx’s birthday.
Jinx hated her birthday. Another reminder of her existing, that she’s still so much more explosive, different, than everyone else around her. She might be a hero with the Star Guardians, but Jinx tended to be surrounded by her thoughts of how she never expected herself to be a true hero. And in another life, that thought might’ve surprised her even more.
Last year, Lux tried her glitterest best to give Jinx a gift she would actually like. After enough agonizing time of wondering what an actual successful gift would be, She decided on a Worms And Dirt Pie (chocolate crumble, with gummy worms. At a quick glance it does indeed look like a pile of worms and dirt) and a collection of spray paint cans that were all mixed with sparkles. But she couldn’t just get her fun items as a gift again this year, if she even could at all. Beyond Jinx hating her own birthday, the two of them were not together like they once were.
The pain struck sharper when she remembered how much effort and love and fun Jinx put into Lux’s past birthdays. If Jinx was going to hate her birthday, the very least she could do is be nonchalant about Lux’s birthday, so at least Lux wouldn’t feel this one sided road lead her to the hopes of actually getting Jinx something she’d like. So now they both dreaded Jinx’s birthday. That dread was only enhanced tenfold, with the catastrophe of how their last conversation went…
Last year Jinx had surprised Lux with a lemon lavender cake topped with the biggest sparklers Lux had ever seen on a cake, and then proceeded to hang a poor random boy by his ankles by a bridge because Lux liked his backpack, that Jinx then stole for Lux.
To be fair this was a very nice backpack. It was a butter yellow backpack with not one but two pouches on each side to hold water bottles, and it was adorned by Chibi pins and buttons.
Now how can Lux possibly compete with the criminality thoughtfulness and care of that?
No items, no matter how random, sentimental, and enjoyable felt right. Ever since Jinx quit the Star Guardians and Lux was willfully hoping for her return, a simple inanimate object, even given with love, felt like it would not cut it. Would not cut the worms and dirt cake.
Perhaps she could just drop off a present- not a store bought one, but a hand crafted present- for Jinx on the top of their overlooking city’s tower, a place she knew Jinx tended to sit at and brood. However, knowing that a simple item would not suffice, nor be the solution for the chasms that Lux wished to close between the two, she instead took a page from her notebook, a pink pen, and began to write,
Transcribed:
When can I see a crooked smile, a lively laugh, and not think of you? Not have these thoughts traced back to you.
I know how our last conversation went and I know you don’t want to hear from me right now
But I want you to hear, on your special day, that it’s you who lives in the chaos that meets in the calm, it’s still only you who makes sense to me when nothing in life makes sense to me.
And if you’re a Jinx, know that I do not want good fortune.
If you’re a Jinx, know that I do not want good luck.
If you’re a Jinx, know that I walk under every broken mirror, black cat, and on every sidewalk crack.
Happiest of Birthdays, my little beloved bad luck,
- Lux
(I added The Subway because it’s the most ex gf song of all time :))

I hope y’all liked the fic! I don’t have ao3 so I posted my submission directly on tumblr for Lightcannon week. Happy Birthday to the iconic Jinx, and I am so excited for my piece for Lux’s birthday!
