The Leftovers: 1x01 - Pilot
lightcommasticks replied to your post:Jack Shephard!
I love the idea of Jack adopting Vincent in the afterlife haha
it’s the only thing that would’ve made the last episode even better lmao
Jack Shephard!
How I feel about this character: It’s actually kind of rare for me to fall in love with a character in a Pilot episode and him then continue to be my favorite through all the seasons up until the end, but Jack Shepard made it. I doubt I’d ever trust a person who doesn’t like him (especially after the Live together Die alone speech. - Speaking about that speech, it’s probably my favorite Jack moment ever.) Jack’s a leader and likes to be in control and does everything in his power to protect the people on the island, no matter the cost. That’s really all it took for me to fall in love with him. Like every character on this beautiful show he had one hell of a character development. He went from denial to “WHY DO YOU FIND IT SO EASY” to actually believing. And he couldn’t save everyone and yet he did what he promised ever since S1 and brought these people back home. I love Jack Shephard. (Also had the second best daddy issues on the island. Not quite as good as Lockes, but he’s second.)
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Kate. Him and Juliet were good too for the time being, but they wouldn’t have lasted.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: SAWYERRRR!
My unpopular opinion about this character: I really liked the “WE HAVE TO GO BACK” beard. Would’ve worked on the island too.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wouldn’t actually ever want to change it, but I always thought it was quite interesting to think about what Jack would have done and how he would’ve continued life if he had been on that plane home with Sawyer, Kate and Co. It was never meant to happen and all that, but WHAT IF? Would he have managed to life a normal life after all?
my OTP: Jate, duh.
my cross over ship: I’m really not big on cross over ships, tbh. Him and Rick Grimes would make quite the pair, probably.
a headcanon fact: Vincent also died on the island, joined them in the church and was adopted by Jack to move on and let go with him. IMAGINE VINCENT IN THAT CURCH WITH JACK.

SAME SO MUCH
i can’t deal with this radiant beauty MAKE IT STOP
I shall throw your question back at you! Top 5 scenes from The Leftovers? Also, top 5 episodes?
I am more than happy to receive my own question xDTop 5 scenes in no particular order:
1: Homeward Bound: You counted this as one of your top scenes, you so understand why it’s here.
2: Kevin, Patti, and the well: Basically this entire episode. The whole episode in particular had my entire attention throughout, but this scene was so interesting to watch. I really enjoy Patti and Kevin scenes (she’s coming back, right? Right?). I felt so sorry for Little Patti saying those things about herself. I wasn’t sure if Kevin was actually going to do it or not.
3: Nora’s meeting with Wayne: I actually started to tear up during this scene (and I rarely tear up because of TV / movies). I think I know why, but that’s not for the this ask xD I have this scene saved on Youtube favourites because I think I need to hear his message.
4: Erika and Nora talk: Frig me, my list is essentially your list :P But yeah, this whole conversation was a little intense. The writing on this show is so good, I love finding out about these characters and their pasts. It’s like LOST all over again.
5: Patti talks to Laurie in the diner: I’m not entirely sure what it was about this whole segment, but I really enjoyed watching it, and listening to what Patti had to say. Actually, not just the scene, the whole trip they took together (but the start of this episode was fuckin’ hard to watch).
Top five episodes in no particular order:
1: International Assassin: No explanation needed.
2: I Live Here Now: Great ending, and I was shitting myself for Matt and Mary when they ran with the crowd, for Erika - GET OFF THE BRIDGE! Was worried about her, and when that woman fucked off with the baby! JUST TELL HER THAT YOU ADOPTED THE BABY, NORA! JESUS! You could tell that was coming. Wonder what happened to the woman though.
3: Ten Thirteen: I enjoyed finding out more about Creepy Meg’s past, and her scene with Matt.
4: Cairo: As you can tell from my answers, I enjoy Patti’s scenes with Kevin in this show.
5: Not entirely sure what I’d place here, but I’m going to go with No Room at the Inn: Ahh, Matt, the poor sod can’t catch a break, can he? Well, he caught one break at the expense of someone else, but refused to take advantage of it for the sake of human decency.
lightcommasticks answered your question “how do you even go on after you’ve watched Interstellar for the first...”
"DON'T LET ME LEAVE, MURPH!" :'(
HOW DARE YOU! I don’t even have words, everything hurts, this scene will haunt me for a while, I just know it
queen-carol answered your question “how do you even go on after you’ve watched Interstellar for the first...”
I haven't watched this movie yet. It's on my list! now i'm excited :)
you should definitely move it up! I wish I had watched it sooner, it’s just brilliant and so clever, the acting is just mind-blowing and I’m officially proposing to the musical score bc it’s just so beautiful. But you will cry A LOT, so prepare the tissues before starting!
1, 4 and 21? :)
1. What’s the most depressing movie you’ve ever watched? ohh, Requiem for a dream I think, maybe also Atonement (the first time I watched that I cried for hours in the middle of the night, it was awful)
4. A film you could watch on repeat for the rest of your life? I think another film would be The Lion King? or Tarzan maybe. But Bridget Jones is always my go-to film tbh
21. A film with an amazing soundtrack? okay I can’t chose one: Atonement, Mr. Nobody, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception...

Yeah, I feel the same. It would be ridiculous if he survives. Some people say he could have pulled himself under the dumpster but that’s still a bit far-fetched for me.
No, that doesn’t really make sense to me either. But I’m way too heartbroken over this to just accept it lmao
