Another African violet 🌸 cousin that many of you may be familiar with is the streptocarpella 💜 (Streptocarpella saxorum). This gesneriad looks a little more like an African violet, especially its fuzzy foliage which you can see in the second picture. Streptocarpella is offered in the garden centers as a hanging basket or as a 4" pot to add to your mixed container. This came to me as a cutting or maybe a small plant, from my Aunt Gloria who loves plants like me and generously shares. This is on a light stand with my African violets and is almost always in bloom, 🌸 but an eastern window exposure would be perfect, too. Do you have one of these plants?
