He planted a lingering kiss on her pouting lips in apology "I think so, a new business partner for Future Industries has been established and a weapons shipment from some of our established friends in the lower ring for the Dragons." Jae pursed his lips realizing he was starting to talk business when he really didn't care for the topic at this moment. "How can I make it up to you?"

She chuckled softly as he caught himself, leaning up to steal another kiss.  "It sounds like you earned a reward~.  Why don't you get a shower and turn in to bed early, since you've been working so hard~?" she purred, the look on her face making it even more obvious that he wouldn't be getting much rest that night.

Jae grinned and tightened his arms around Azula, picking her up slightly as he nuzzled into the crook of her neck. Her familiar scent a comfort he didn't realized he missed so much "I missed you too, Ba Sing Se took longer than I intended."

"It better have been worth it," she said grumpily, digging her nails into him lightly as she tried to ignore the fact that tears were welling in her eyes.  "I don't ever want you to be gone that long again, you understand me?"

"Hey there princess." His breath brushes against her shoulder and neck just a second before two arms pull her into a warm embrace. His chin came to rest on the peak of her shoulder. The firebender wasn't as neat as he usually looked, his hair was a mess (not anything new, but it looked ridiculously worse than normal), flat on one side and sticking up on the other and his shirt and pants rumpled from napping on the couch.

Azula threw her arms around him and squeezed tight, pulling Jae close and hiding her face in the crook of his shoulder.  He needed a shower as much as he needed a hairbrush, but right now, she didn't care.  She clung tightly to him, practically trembling as she held on.  "I missed you."

They had had a long run of terror, killing and extorting to their hearts content. Unfortunately their rein came to end when they had been captured in the basement of the Black Dragon casino. Their trial had been a three ring circus, they had been dubbed the worst criminals in Republic City. Now, their joke of a trial over months ago they were finally together again, standing side by side at the gallows. Jae tensed and looked over at his wife "I'll see you on the other side." Then, darkness.

No one wanted to cut the bodies down for the longest time.  The two most terrifying firebenders since the Hundred Years War (if only they knew), and the only firebending they'd done to free themselves had been igniting the ropes around their hands--not in an escape attempt, but because when they went down, their hands were clasped together.

Being both of Fire Nation heritage, the two criminals were burned for a funeral, and whether it was respect for their one shared last wish or fear of their vengeful spirits, they were burned together on the same pyre.

"'Zula! Zula it's just a dream!" Jae gently shakes her shoulders to rouse her from her nightmare. "Princess, you're fine." He promised as soon as he saw her eyes opening "Just a nightmare." He soothed as he ran his hand through her hair.

The moment Azula realised she was looking at Jae, she shifted to cling to him, still visibly trembling.  She sobbed into his shoulder,  shaking and distraught.  "I dreamed you were dead again," she said, upset that it was a recurring dream as much as she was by the actual content.  "I'm so scared of losing you," she whimpered.

"I think I broke it."

Azula tugged at the handcuffs, looking up towards where they were tangled around the headboard.  Then she looked to Jae and the little key in his fingers.  Yep, that was definitely snapped in half.  She frowned deeply, the giddy high from before already fading away in lieu of frustration.  "Jae," she said, barely masking her frustration.  "How do you propose we get them off, then?"

☃: Kiss in the Snow

With snow falling all around them, Azula had to admit it did feel like a romantic time.  If only it wasn't so cold!  She was shivering, and just about ready to turn to Jae and complain about it when suddenly a pair of strong arms wrapped her up, warming her up.  His lips came down on hers a moment later and she purred, reaching up to lace her fingers through his hair as she kissed him back desperately.
