Victoria sighed as she rounded the corner of the diner she worked at, food up for a regular of hers. She wasn’t sure why he frequented so much, let alone the tips he left her, or his continued advances which she brushed off as an accident. Still, she found comfort in his presence when he came in. She grabbed his plate from the heated window, cursing herself as she burnt herself on the warm surface and began to walk towards his table. The evening was a slow one and he was her only customer at the moment, but as the front door opened, she glanced and stiffened at the sight of Alex, he abusive ex-boyfriend. She focused on the task at hand and dropped the food down, gasping when Alex grabbed her arm roughly, causing her to begin to tremble. The looked to her customer and back to Alex, unsure what she should do and tears filled her eyes with her indecision.
