It's midnight and I'm thinking about zoras again in BOTW they try to say that only lady zoras grow lightscale - the scale over their heart/chest that they use to make armor - but i think that's dumb. I think every zora grows lightscale bc it's an important part of their skin's biological armor, and any zora could potentially remove it for crafting purposes. my thought is that it's easier for certain individuals to remove the lightscale & regrow it than others - removing the scale is tougher & more likely to cause injury/scarring if it's affixed more firmly to the skin, and the scale grows back at different speeds depending on the individual, potentially leaving them unarmored and vulnerable for a long time. and if it scars up then the scale won't grow back at all, leaving the donor with a permanent lack of protection that they'd have to make up with wearing a chestplate/armor of their own. as such there's a lot of factors for a potential donor to consider when considering using lightscale in a crafting project of any kind. the fact that making lightscale armor is associated with women zoras is based on a stereotype or social pressure more than on reality or anything.
