Onu-Koro Mining Equipment
I felt like making some of the equipment you see around the various Onu-Koro excavation projects in MNOLG. I had to cheat and make up a piece for the cart bed.
The drill also used a modified claw piece. In the game apart from Whenua’s staff the drill is made entirely out of mangled Ussal Crab parts. Actually if you look closely Ussal pieces are everywhere, the base of the light dishes, the piping that’s leaking lava blocking the lightstone cave, the winch mechanism on the elevator in the great mine, even the Electric bug in the Nui-Rama hive. That’s not even getting into other reused graphics like how the Ussalry strap their discs to their backs using severed arms. Game development is weird.
Making Taipu hold a pickaxe like that with both hands was extremely hard, the McToran aren’t the most poseable models...
Strongest and bulkiest of the Toa, Onua always walks with a hunch, said to be the result of ages of tunneling through the earth. He wields his claws as deftly as if they were his very hands, and though they are forged of a metal stronger than any known on Mata Nui, even they cannot pierce the layer of protodermis at the bottom of the mines of Onu-Wahi. …I also maybe just really like lightstones.
