Flash Books - All About Hypnosis - WPT [World Publications Trust Reg.] in Vaduz, Liechtenstein - 1968
Have I showed you guys this yet? I love it -- all six Flash books in a grid. Doesn’t it look cool???
A little Barry and Iris snippet from The Flash Crossover Crisis book, the latest book in Barry Lyga’s Flash book series (different timeline than the show). Spoilers for the book (but not big ones)!
Iris popped around the corner, You OK?” she asked.
“I’m all right. What about you? I thought you rested up, but you still seem exhausted.”
“Flatterer,” she joked, punching his shoulder lightly. “I just...didn’t sleep well, is all. Too much on my mind, I guess. Weird dream.”
“Wanna talk about it?”
She hesitated for just a moment, then shook her head.
“No. Now’s not the time. Bigger fish to fry, you know?”
He gave her a long hug. He liked to think that he had a pretty good string of smart decisions in his life, but marrying her had been the smartest. She gave him strength. She made him a better hero and a better man. In her presence, exhaustion and pessimism could not abide. he wished he could flood her with the same relief she brought him.
Another Barry and Iris snippet from The Flash Crossover Crisis book, the latest book in Barry Lyga’s Flash book series (different timeline than the show). There’s a bit I skipped after the first sentence.
This is a Spoiler for the book!!!
Iris awoke with a start
[...]
Out of the darkness, a pale light flickered. And there was Barry, standing before her.
He looked haggard, exhausted. His cowl was torn partly away, and his costume was marred with scorch marks.
“Barry? What happened?”
He reached out to her. Something was wrong. Barry seemed...vague. Insubstantial. As though he wasn’t really there. It wasn’t the same effect as his vibration - it was almost like a bad TV reception, where there was so much static you could barely see the image.
The tips of his fingers fell short of her by inches. She heard a low-pitched crackle around them as they jagged in and out of sight.
“I love you so much,” he said, tears streaming down his face. “It’ll all be OK. I promise. I will never stop loving you.”
And then he was gone.
She was used to Barry disappearing in the blink of an eye, but this was somehow different. She had the sense that he hadn’t run off, but rather that he had just...disappeared.
She sat up and flipped on the lights. Nothing. Nothing at all. iris shuddered and hugged herself tight. What was going on here?
A dream? A crazy nightmare?
My little collection is growing!
