11. if you’re a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

Oh my god, a bit difficult because I'm not that proud of any of my fics now that some time has passed akjskds. Or rather, I'm not that proud of their quality but I'm still very proud of the work I put into them!! Because I had to fight demons to finish every one of those fics. And I will never stop being proud of myself for finishing any sort of piece at all.

I think I'm quite proud of all of them in that sense, except for "Stay with me, hold my hand", which I wrote in a rush and is like my least favourite child but I also don't really want to abandon it in a cardboard box (orphan it). But probably my actual favourite one is Only in my dreams which I wrote for a Secret Santa and it was excruciating and I was convinced I wouldn't make the deadline and I edited it a thousand times but I was over the moon to finish it and to have the person it was for like it <3333 And I think it's good! but I also haven't reread it in a while.....

And I'm very proud of a fic I'm writing right now!! I hope I'll post it someday!

16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

I think a lot of tiny comedy moments in the manga go underappreciated! The manga is so funny and everyone should read it. I also always want more people to appreciate Sayu, if she counts as a detail (SHE'S NOT A DETAIL TO ME), and the Yagami family in general... Both because of their fun light moments and also because they're insane. The latest Yagami family Detail I have come across in my reread, and therefore the only thing I can think of, is the fact that Sayu apologizes for having been careless enough to get kidnapped (everybody think a moment about how these two kids were raised. Is anybody listening to me), and Soichiro then announces that he is going to quit his job because he is a failure as a police officer for having rescued his kidnapped daughter Right In Front of said kidnapped daughter. I guess this isn't really that underappreciated because I've seen multiple people comment on it but......

Also the conversation Soichiro and Sachiko have shortly after Sayu's kidnapping:

3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?

Well, now I almost wish I was interesting like that 😂

Probably my most productive writing is when I just wake up and start churning stuff out or when I pull an all nighter on my computer. Otherwise I take out my phone and use timers or snacks to force me😂

There is no ritual. Only the stars aligning for hyperfocus or a lotta complaint 😂😂😂

5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true?

Huh

I've never really thought about this as a concept before

I guess the closest I have is that I would sooner die than use the wrong form of there or leave sentence fragments (non intentional ones that were not place for emphasis). They're probably my least common errors because I hate them so much

Idk I don’t think I have anything that can really be considered a superstition

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

Getting the images in my brain OUT

Praise and comments and kudos? Nice, but unreliable. My brain cannot be sustained by what little there is

But getting the images out? The entire process is as satisfying as it is frustrating. It takes so much work to replicate the writing as it exists in your brain, but BOY does it hit when it succeeds and the writing is purely self indulgent. Pure self indulgence and this kind of work has allowed me to write some of my favorite kissing scenes (and the entirety of the shower scene in Neat Freak)

It's great I love it it keeps me coming back to my own stuff. So I guess it would be better to say that my deepest joy is in...pleasing myself

20: do you say soda or pop? NEITHER I say soft drink or fizzy drinks if feeling fun and silly

21: something you’ve kept since childhood? some cool rocks that I picked up on family trips to the blue mountains and the intrinsic sense that I'm not allowed to do anything ever

L & B, 3, 16, 19

L + SLEEPING: He is a remarkably quiet and still sleeper once he actually falls asleep, which often helped him stealthily catnap in his chair without anybody noticing at work

L + ANGER: He finds losing his temper in front of others nearly as uncomfortable as crying in front of others. He prefers to stay pretty stoic and cautious with what he reveals about himself through his emotional reactions most times

L + FAVOURITE PHOTOGRAPH: He didn't really have one in canon because he never really had much of a reason to get sentimental about pictures in his life, and normally tries to avoid featuring in any photographs himself.

HOWEVER. In an au where L and Light are happily 2gether 4ever, then his favourite photograph is one of Light is one where he's still being ridiculously photogenic even despite the unlikely circumstances. You know, like that one guy who went viral for taking a super photogenic photo in the midst of running a marathon:

L keeps a hefty photo album on his laptop of candid snapshots of Light just like this that he finds hilarious to compile and loves to occasionally tease Light with

B + SLEEPING:

I can't see B as anything other than an extremely light sleeper and early riser who always gets up immediately at the crack of dawn. He would probably make a ton of passive-aggressive remarks to anybody he lived with if they kept a slightly later schedule than him as well, insinuating that they were lazier than him

B + ANGER:

Not something he displays too obviously most times. It comes out more in things like his roundabout sabatoging behaviors and his underhanded remarks

B + FAVOURITE PHOTOGRAPH:

He kinda dislikes photos of people because they always show him everybody's lifespans, which he normally just wants to be able to ignore or forget. His favourite photo is one of a dead bird that he took himself when he was an angsty teen at Wammy's, which he framed and monologues pretentiously to other people about whenever they make the mistake of coming into his room
