What could be worse than this?  He almost asks. He wasn’t a man who spent a great length of time in the field, much less survived anything worse than this. He hasn’t removed the blade from his stomach  ( who used things like knives in this day and age? )  so as to prevent excess bleeding, but that hardly seems like it’s going to make much of a difference.

How strange to be held by a man he hates in his final moments. And that’s the biggest kick to the cosmic joke that is his life, isn’t it?  He won’t say he ever anticipated dying in the arms of someone who cared about him or who could care about him in turn, but of all people it’s him.

It hurts to laugh, but he can’t contain the hysterical sound. He’s going to die and the only person he can take solace from is Kylo Ren.

Glancing over to him, Rey did feel sorry for him but a part of her still felt it was what he deserved. After causing so much pain to others, taking the lives of people who had once trusted him - a little sickness was a small dose of payback but she really couldn't stop from feeling concern. Perhaps it was the light side of the force, perhaps it instantly meant you were concerned for others over any hatred.

Stepping closer to him, she hesitantly placed a hand on his head "you're burning up, you probably have a stomach bug. There are plenty around and you are lacking a certain mask to keep you immune to catching any. You are NOT dying so stop acting like a baby!" Rey sighed, that wouldn't help matters "here, drink my water. There isn't much left but I can go scavenging for food and more water. You will be fine. I'll find a ship to steal some parts too, that way we can get your broken vessel up and running again so we can get off this run down planet. Okay? Will you be fine here while I go search?"
