I confess, I’m a late comer to Liima’s artsy experimental rock. The Finish and Danish band, a supergroup of sorts that involves members of Efterklang and Tatu Rönkkö, released their debut album “ii” last spring via esteemed label 4AD. How their atmospheric electro rock managed to evade me all this time will be a mystery I’ll be racking my brain over for all eternity. My encounter with their new video for their single Your Heart is all the more fortuitous. The sprawling landscapes captured in its video are the appropriate companion to Your Heart’s vast, cinematic grandeur. Your Heart marches steadily towards a spectacular precipice. The final 45 seconds of the song are more than stunning and an exhilarating release. You can find Liima’s debut album on iTunes, here.
