He fought it for a longtime, but in the end it was the most natural thing in the world. Whybother fighting every day for a life of uncertainty and thankless, endlessbattle that never seemed to accomplish anything at all? It might not be easy toadmit, but nothing important ever was.

There was nothing elsethat quite matched the cool brush of Loki’s fingers on the back of his neck,unless it was the feeling of knowing he was doing good work, doing necessary work, earning his honoredplace. Earning the languid look on Loki’s face, the slender curving smile, thepressure of his long fingers on Clint’s tongue.

He wondered why he’dtried so hard not to surrender, like there was something wrong with surrender.

“Why did you let me goin the first place?” Clint asked at one point. Loki smiled at him, eyes halfclosing, and stood up, running three fingertips lightly along Clint’s jaw.

“I knew you would comeback to me eventually,” he said, and leaned down. Clint closed his eyes andheld his breath, shivered at the soft puff of air on his neck. He let out aslight gasp but didn’t stir when Loki’s teeth closed on the shell of his ear,nearly quivering.

“Because you’re mine,”Loki said, releasing him, voice low and dark, and then he laughed and walkedaway.

It's past midnight and the whole house is dark and I thought to go and wash my hands before going to sleep, since I've been drawing for hours again and I smudge with my fingers. So I go to the bathroom and soon THe goddamn lights start to FLICKER!
