Update time for the Toasty family! Bun has a little brother Butter and we are home and healthy! Not sure when I will have time to write but I am feeling surprisingly okay for having gone through hell and back during his labor. Last song: Eight by Sleeping At Last. Relistening to their album Atlas: Enneagram quite often since my enneagram fixation has returned. Honestly I think Eight might be my favorite of the songs, followed closely by Two and Seven.
Favorite color: Cyan, as in any color and shade between blue and green. Teal, turquoise, sea foam, etc. Particularly fond of dark forest-y mostly-green-with-a-hint-of-blue.
Currently watching: The Expanse with a few friends. Coordinating when we're all free means I'm going through the series a little slower, but it is SO worth it for the discussions we dive into over such a well-crafted show with so many complexities and moral dilemmas to sink our teeth into.
Currently Reading: The Raven Cycle series with the friend who recommended me the series. Currently halfway through the fourth/last book, The Raven King. First time ever I'm not afraid of reaching the end of a series I love because I'm just as excited to reread them all again. (+be able to interact with the fandom w/out spoilers)
Current obsession: uhhh... idk? Kinda in a limbo between them? I've been bouncing between a lot of obsessions recently without really locking on to one in particular. Feels like being stressed is my baseline emotion nowadays, so how I spend my freetime is motivated more by avoidance rather than pursuit. I need better anxiety meds probably.
Last Search: "Is Stockholm Syndrome a real thing?" Looking for sources to back up my recollection of seeing something online debunking the myth. For those curious, the short answer is no. Weaponized Attachment is more worth looking into as a credible explanation for a victim developing a strong emotional bond with their abuser.

inat has options for this! for each observation you upload, you can choose to keep the location public, not to disclose location at all, or to obscure it.
i'm a fan of the obscured option bc it shows the general area but not the exact coordinates, which allows for region-specific species ids without doxxing you. according to the inat help page it picks a random point within a 500km radius.
I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.

The teacher who took extra time to help you understand. The person who smiled at you when you walked into a store. The little kid who looks up to you. The person who randomly complimented you. For all its faults Tumblr has truly ruined all other social media for me because my friends all have Instagram and are all trying to get me on Instagram more but every time I open Instagram there are like fifteen things screaming for my attention and when I get over myself long enough to start scrolling it's like. Where is my chronological dash. Where is the following-only option. Who are these people. Why are there so many videos. Everyone is screaming at me. And then before I know it I'm thirty minutes into scrolling and I haven't seen a single thing that I actually care about. At least on Tumblr when I see stuff I don't care about I know someone I follow has found a new interest.
