I'm very intrigued by the Odyssey coming into the zeitgeist right now - in that truly organic way where a bunch of people independently seem to have found it compelling material in the last couple of years and now it's everywhere.

I wonder why? What about that story, and the reunion of Odysseus and Penelope in particular, particularly resonates with some contemporary interest or anxiety?

It really is weird to me that since the two like ICONIC things from the Silent Hill series are the rusty bloody barbed wire spikey shit Otherworld and Pyramid Head, you always see the two of those together now in spin-offs and art and merchandising and ads and shit this new DBD expansion is a perfect example when like....

There was almost none of that cult shit in Silent Hill 2. The Red Pyramid Thing was like the only reference to it outside some paintings. No death cult, no little girl, well there was a little girl but just a normal obnoxious one, no barbed wire FUCK i don’t think there was even an Air Raid Siren in that game.It was all greens and blues and water damage and sheets on furniture and hospital shit everywhere.
