What are you talking about? Everybody knows English, and it was especially common back in the 1980s. In China there was a even concern Chinese would disappear, because nobody was speaking Chinese anymore. NOBODY. People would just speak English and watch Alf all day long. Life was s w e e t. 

Too bad they wished not to live in a dictatorship anymore and their civilization collapsed. We still don’t know why, but it’s probably that.
