80s!mike meeting will the wise and begging for him to heal the smallest little cut just to feel what his spells feel like, and will the wise is so endeared by his unabashed excitement and wonderment about magic that he overheals him and sets mike’s hair on end
Rewatching the battle and I absolutely love how Brennan didn't actually say shit when he "rolled" for Yanessa's death save
He just made a 😬 expression and let the player's assumptions take the space
Ok but I am never going to move on from this
It's the little things
Thousand swords piercing through his heart. A bleeding pincushion that beats despite everything. That's how Castin when his wife glared at him with angry tears.
"Baby. Sweetheart. Love of my life. Sun of my world. Please—"
"I can still go!"
It's thanks to his training that Castin didn't flinch when the Baroness raised his voice to a pitch he had never, EVER, heard before and Castin has wrung all kinds of noises from his wife throughout their married life. He's partial to the kinds in the bedroom, but anyway—
"Castin... husband, please. I want to go. Ow, ow..."
"No, no! Don't press on that cheek. Remember what the dentist said?" With 2 long strides, Castin rushes to his wife's side to gently grab her wrist. From up close, he sees that it's still swollen despite having being checked this morning.
Today was set to be perfect for the couple. Castin is reminded of his wife's voracious appetite for the finer things in life when she reminisced their date at the pier so a follow up is in order only this time, the food marketplace in town.
"Oh, darling that's such a wonderful idea!" The Baroness exclaimed, a rare moment of childish excitement and Goddess did Castin want to bring her on 100th dates and food tours all over the world if it means he get to see that kind of glee more. The two of them were at the garden when he sprung that idea. His wife warm and sleepy on his chest while he on the daybed, running his fingers through her hair. For once, no work, no war, no tenants to disturbed them. It was as if a veiled-like spell were casted upon them.
"Yeah?" Castin purrs when he sees those beautiful eyes peering at him. His wife reminded him of the pampered cat that his Ma use to care. "You be down spending an entire day with your man?"
The rumbled in her husband's chest made the Baroness snuggled closer. Playing coy, she bit his necklace; Castin unintentionally moans. It's always fun to get under his skin. "I wish to eat everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, the market has to offer and go home when the sun is setting. Your presence would be an additional bonus, of course."
"Of course, she says! Better clear up your calendar pretty girl 'cause I'm taking you out this weekend."
Well.
That was the plan... until his lovely lady woke up with swollen gums and tears running down her cheeks.
"More fluid intake." The dentist recommended after he hastily brought the Baroness to see him. "I suggest warm water and staying indoor as much as possible. The inside of your body is overheated, Your Grace. With how hot Intacia is lately, the weather is the biggest factor."
And now here they are, back in the present: Castin soothing his wife while she seethes. He knows how much she hates 'wasting' her days and gets undeniably frustrated when something doesn't go according to the schedule.
So he gently pulls her into his arms and hug her tight. The Baroness sniffles and mumbled out, "It's not fair. It's so very hard to just... go on dates together. His Majesty often calls you away."
"And work keeps you in your study, always. I know, baby. I know." Castin softly replies, rubbing her back. He moved them onto the couch without releasing her even for just a second. Outside the window, the sun is shining. It really is a beautiful day. "I'm really sorry that today didn't turn out the way you wanted to and please, please believe me when I say that it's ok. Things happen. You'll be ok. We'll go on a food date as soon as you can comfortably eat again. You and me. We'll have the time of our lives at the market. You'll see. But first, you need to take it easy, alright? No solid or hard food for a few days."
"But I really, REALLY, wanted to try that twisted red bean bread glazed with honey and sesame seed. And that popular mango-lychee soda. And the grilled lobster."
"...Were you planning on eating those all at the same time?"
"You cannot deny me husband!"
"My love. My soul... mi corazón… the sun that lights my entire world, please—wait. Why do you have a dagger? Put the stabby thing down, cariño."

Grim, whispering to Y/N: How old am I?
Y/N: You’re ??, Grim.
Grim, sadly: I was ??.
