Things That Need to be Addressed/Acknowledged Before TADC Ends
- What happens when Jax holds his breath. At the beginning of episode 2 he literally points to the people watching and asks “what do YOU, the viewers, think it is?” If it isn’t addressed in some way then that is a Chekhov’s gun situation.
- Gummigoo has to be brought up again or shown in the finale. Episode 8 literally makes a point of bringing him up in Pomni’s torture/nightmare scene from Caine. Plus the fact that Gummigoo reached out to Pomni in episode 4 after she said his name. If this isn’t addressed then that is bad writing. Simple but true. There would’ve been no reason to remind the audience of Gummigoo’s existence in ep 8 otherwise.
- The car flash sequence in episode 7; what that all means and why it was driving Jax crazy.
- Why Jax’s bedroom doesn’t match his personality at all. It has bright colors, small chairs at a table, shooting stars, and cute pictures on the walls. There should be a definitive explanation/reason as to why it looks the way it does.
- Scratch. Yeah just Scratch in general lol. It’s obvious from a narrative perspective that we’re gonna learn more abt him so if we don’t then that’s a blunder.
- Ragatha and Jax are exact opposites of each other and that has been proven since the beginning. They need to have a genuine conversation about their past and Ragatha needs to elaborate on what she meant when she told Kinger that she “failed” Jax.
- Why Gangle didn’t have an evil clone (and was instead Evil Orbsman) in episode 5
- The number 57 and why it shows up in every single episode. “It’s just an inside joke” my ass, it literally shows up in the dialogue AND the background. So many times.
- The real names of everyone in the Amazing Digital Circus. Even Caine- because Kinger says “I don’t remember what we originally called him” in episode 8. The whole name thing is brought up multiple times so I would be shOCKED if we didn’t get to learn everyone’s names.
- Caine’s VA read the episode 9 script; whether that means he’s in the episode or not is unclear. It would be odd if Caine wasn’t in the last episode at all though since he played such a big role in the series. I don’t mean he needs to come back to life, but a flashback, dream, or smth like that would be appropriate.
- Whatever the deal is with Bubble
- Why the team made the last minute decision to change Kinger’s line in episode 3 from ‘4 years of computer science’ to ‘7 years of computer science’ very close to when it dropped. I only learned abt this since not every dub of the show got the re-recorded line in on time for when the episode released.
- Kinger cries when listening to the tapes Mildenhall left behind- but only the part when Mildenhall accidentally kills his wife. I feel like most people didn’t notice this. The fact that we got so much lore about a fictional character that Caine himself made up for an adventure is odd. I think there may be more to it.
- When looking it the folders on the computer that Kinger was using, one of the titled ‘brain scans.’ That has to come back up.
- Similarly, the only other folder next to Caine’s folder on that computer is a folder titled ‘???’ That has to be important.
- How much of what Abel said in episode 7 was just Caine venting his frustrations to the cast?
- Whether or not Caine’s line about “but if I start to lose track of who’s a human and who’s an NPC, who knows what….could happen” is foreshadowing or just a funny joke, regardless I think that smth should reference it at some point. Why? Bc Caine is shown to delete NPCs the moment they get too smart. It happened with Abel in ep 7.
- The “temporary” mind modifiers that Caine puts on ppl. How does it work? Does it mean Kinger can think better in the light now? If so, that isn’t a temporary modification, and was just Caine lying again to the cast. It would be a permanent modifier. (This would explain why sometimes it takes Kinger a longer amount of time to regain his sanity PLUS the fact that he says “scratch. The first abstraction” in front of an EXTREMELY lit wall.)
- “Bubble was deleted alongside Caine, which is why they weren’t in the outro in ep 8” most ppl had the theory that Bubble was the ‘big bad’ after Caine got deleted, but then Gooseworx said this. Is it to throw ppl off or is it true? Only Goose herself knows.
- The characters learn that they have the ability to conjure, similar to Caine, but it takes effort and skill to do. I assume this fact will be utilized in the finale because it’s very essential to their survival now that the circus itself is crumbling.
- What the images that flashed in the beginning of ep 8 (when the red dot is fed them) were exactly. Sure we can assume based on our own knowledge that it was just what the programmers fed into the AI but why those ones specifically?
- In ep 7 Caine tells Jax that he was “cut off” from the macroverse. I assume this is shown when the red dot is put in confinement of sorts in episode 8. However, I’d love to know WHY the developers locked him away instead of just deleting him or doing something else with him. Yknow what I mean? There’s definitely more detail there to be known.
- Caine is shown looking at pictures of the office area, and he tries to recreate them bc of it. However, with the uncomfortable amount of time he spends staring at these images in at least two different episodes, I think there has to be something more to it and why he is so fascinated by the office space specifically. Like why not the pool, circus, grass, hot air balloon, clown, masquerade masks, gummy worms etc etc images instead? Why the office building? The three sequences of images shown in ep 8 at the beginning were all different, but the third sequence had images ALL of the office area (they were different images of the office building, but it was still the same place and vibe). Does Caine have a fixation on it because he was fed the most images of that office space? If so, why? Why’d the developers give Caine so many pictures of the office space? They wanted to have an AI that could come up with its own ideas, so why would they waste time giving the AI so many images of a boring unimaginative location? And were those images the reason why Caine started to malfunction so severely?
- The audience isn’t shown what images are fed into the blue dot. This is intentional. I don’t know why they chose to do this but I hope episode 9 will clear that up.
- Another thing of note is that TADC makes it pretty obvious from the beginning that it’s supposed to be a video game of sorts. However, episode 8 (via Kinger) states that C&A was just developing artificial intelligence. So then, why is there a map? Why is there a developer’s room down there? Caine absolutely did not intend for the Candy Carrier Chaos adventure to have gone down that route, so why was it down there? Why does Caine call the ppl he makes “NPCs?” Why did the Wacky Watch website have a video game-esque opening on an old monitor? Why did episode 1 also give off vibes of a game from the early 2000s/late 90s at the start if it ISNT a video game of some kind? Perhaps Kinger was right in what he said but perhaps Caine decided to make it into a game, or perhaps something else occurred.
- On that note, with how much the technology differs from what the characters know/do (ex. Jax noting that Pomni is a YouTuber) what year is it supposed to be?
- The tombstone in episode 3 with the name ‘Peggy’ that says 2019-2022. Why? There has to be something there right? Chekov’s gun type thing, right? Sure it wasn’t exactly picked up by 99% of ppl, but there wasn’t any other reason to put that there.
- Scratch being the creative lead behind Caine’s programming and the person that Kinger looked to for inspiration while also being the first person to abstract is smth of note, especially since he states that Scratch had a tumor in his head, which indicates brain cancer.
- Gangle is shown in episode 4 and in her torture scene (via Caine) in episode 8 getting run over by a truck. This must be addressed in ep 9, it’s a very traumatic event to experience more than once and definitely points to a bigger picture.
- In ep 6 Gangle asks Zooble if they’ve ever had to make the choice to love themself; similarly, Kinger asks Ragatha if she hates herself. Both Zooble and Ragatha do not respond.
- Now that the digital circus itself is disintegrating with Caine gone, what is going to happen to everyone in the cellar? Perhaps they will escape. Maybe this is what leads into the flashback of Ribbit stargazing with Jax.
- Jax is shown having a mental breakdown in episodes six through 8, with his latest one being about processing the fact that this is all real. It’s safe to assume he will keep going off the deep end, especially when you see the poster for the last act. Whether that is abstraction or smth else, we will see. I think that he may end up ‘jumbled up’ like how Kaufmo beat up Ragatha in episode 1. But instead it would be Ribbit’s abstracted form hurting him.
- All of the NPCs have a high probability of being gone now that Caine is deleted. However, the space itself isn’t gone, so then what’s become of the NPCs?
- Is the reason why the circus didn’t completely disappear despite Caine getting annihilated because ‘Abel’/the blue dot/the other AI is still alive in some way?
