I started crying suddenly because the whole hands thing with horikoshi finally hit me; he stresses so much that bakugo and deku are reaching out to each other, they’re constantly depicted with their hands held out to grab, they are THE team, they are the plot, this development between them is constantly changing but they’re always reaching out to each other but before now, they don’t touch of just won’t get there.
The first time at the river, they don’t touch and this is the big turning point for them, the second time during kacchan vs deku 2, they touch but it’s from bakugo slapping his hand away, third time in heroes rising, they touch and actually hold onto each other but bakugo forgets, and finally back to the river, bakugo in his age finally and willingly reaches out to hold dekus hand, to accept his help, but they are not touching. im sure horikoshi did this on purpose, he chose the cover that shows the action but not the physical touch because theres more to come, theres more that needs to be done before he can officially feel like they can hold hands (lol gay)
these moments are far between each other but its just so important, it’s the longest fucking symbolic slow burn ever but I feel so content with how bakugo and deku are evolving around each other and just growing. all of that build up was for them to become equals, if not more and for bakugo to get this development with deku. and heres the pictures that i’m talking about:
