The Adventures of Neo Hyde
Prologue
Dravion was a small village with very little people, there were about three hundred people all together, at most but then one day, people started leaving. They said there was a curse in the village, but Mr. and Mrs. Hyde didn’t care, this was their home and they loved it. They hoped their son, Neo, would love it just as much. He was born on the early morning of December 13th and later that month, both his parents passed away in the middle of the night. Well, passed away is a bit of an understatement. His mother was murdered while his father was in the room with him, trying to put him to sleep. Then his father left the room and met his fate too. Who’s to say if the killer saw Neo and decided to spare him, or if he even knew he was there, but either way, Neo survived that night. The mailman, of all people, noticed that the door wasn’t fully closed and went in to investigate. She walked in and saw the scene, and she said she saw “Something no human could do.” According to her, their bodies were already fully rotting by the time she came in, even though she had seen them both the day before.
She heard crying so, against her better judgment, she followed the cries. It led her to a door, covered in a mysterious looking plant. Cautiously, she went and opened the door, to her surprise she saw a perfectly fine and unharmed Neo. However, she also noticed the same mysterious looking plant around all the windows, the roof, the floor, the crib, and as she got closer, they appeared to be sown into Neos baby blankets and other fabrics that were, seemingly, only for him. She saw that he was wearing a necklace and bracelets. He also had a note, saying his name and other information she guessed the parents wanted him to know when he got older. Carefully, she went to pick him up. He immediately started screaming and squirming.
Nonetheless, she still grabbed him and a few of his things and took him to the local orphanage called “Mrs. Maybells home for lost and Obscure ones” where she ran into a man. A rather peculiar man, dropping off a rather peculiar looking child. The man was tall. Taller than any man she’d ever seen before, at least 7 feet tall. He was wearing an all white suit, with a white briefcase. But his eyes… That’s what she said got her the most. They were fully black. The child on the other hand, well, she doesn’t like pointing out how children are different but this one… This one… She said that the baby's left eye was purple and it's right eye was black, just like the man who was setting it down, except somehow it seemed darker. She stepped back, mostly because she was taken aback from how bizarre they looked, it seemed as though they were from another planet. The man did some sort of blessing, which wasn’t too odd where she was. Families that would give away their kids would usually give their kids some sort of blessing and/or prayer before leaving their kid, so she thought nothing of that. When he was done, he sat the kid down, turned around, smiled at her, and left as if nothing about him or the kid were weird.
She watched him walk away and turn a corner. Then, she said, she heard a noise. She sat Neo down next to the weird child, and ran to follow him and he was gone. How did he get away so fast? Surely he had to be somewhere, no one is that fast.
