It's got to be hard, trying to live up to the legends surrounding your existence. They can't see the child, just the stained glass refracting onto your sword and armor. You think of the man you once were, and you look at yourself in the mirror, at the bloodied knuckles and bruised, acne-covered cheekbones that belong to a boy a dozen years too young to be you. And yet you can't even bring yourself to feel like the man you are. Even in a world you thought you knew so well, where people respect you again because of the weight your name carries, you still feel in your bones that you're only a teen. You want to be that man again, the one you were only a year before. You never will be that old again. It was a tragedy from the beginning.
