you can try to make the argument that stabbing varric is a reaction that makes sense in that situation, but the fact that these confrontations are extremely contrived and blatantly nonsensical is beyond dispute when u take that scene together with the "fight solas" ending.

does anybody out there want to offer me 1 single watsonian reason why the "good" version of that scene has solas using magic to just... push your party away from him, so overwhelmed in the melee that rook gets a sucker punch in... while the "bad" version has him turning your party to stone the moment they engage him, with rook having to knock him off his feet to avoid the same fate?
