KINDA CONTROVERSIAL TADC OPINION:
I see a fuck ton of people calling Jax an edgelord and saying he wasn't written right, but I genuinely don't think that.
He's very much not-all-there, and in the "play things" rant he had with Pomni? I think it was written beautifully to showcase his absolute PANIC when he realizes that he has to crank that shit to a hundred to push them away.
His rant wasn't a reflection of how he actually felt, but him putting a MASSIVE emphasis on his slipping facade.
AND I KNOW, THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS, RIGHT??? TIKTOK DOESN'T THINK SO FOR SOME REASON AND IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE
Also, I've seen some people go "but he's not a good person, so you can't like him", and it made me remember how fandoms that aren't splatterpunk typically operate, cuz the WHIPLASH????
Idk, I just really like Jax because he's got SOOO MANY LAYERS, fuckin' Shrek over here.
I like how he's actually a likeable asshole, and not some watered down character who's only taste of assholery is when they cheeks-deep 'n' kissin' up to the fans. It's not just sarcasm, or being rude, he's just genuinely a dick— but done RIGHT.
I'm really excited for more info on his actual life, because those flashbacks? Found footage HAVEN. Fingers crossed that Gooseworx dives deeper into those Harlan Ellison-inspired roots 🙏🙏🙏🔥
