Lil Bum - Get 50 Or Die Starving

Lil Bum is a very interesting case. He seems to have taken everything about rap music in 2017, and condensed it down into minute long-half finished songs that end either wholly abruptly, or in long strings of silence.

This album brings forth 2017′s Lil B, a rapper who wholly exemplifies the internet age of what can best be described as "garage rap" - instrumentals that sound ripped right out of a Youtube video, and an album cover collage of guns, money, pizza, and gold, among other things.

Bum's flow is surprisingly solid, and when what he says can be made out at all, Bum raps about standard rap subjects - not fucking with you, knocking niggas out, as well as the titular theme that comes up all throughout the album: getting 50 dollars. Often times, Bum will wholly forego saying anything at all, opting instead to mumble rhythmically.

Each song is almost like a grainy snapshot of a hit single you can swear you've heard before, but you forget what it's called and you forget who made it. The mysterious mix of low quality and yet recognizable skill makes this album an interesting, fun listen.
