Matt/Foggy - show me your true colours (lilfoggy)
“What is it like, not even knowing what your best buddy looks like?” Foggy asks him, one night in the dorm. “We’ve known each other for what, three years now? Don’t you ever wonder?”
Matt doesn’t answer him immediately. He folds one hand over another in his lap.
“I see in other ways,” he says eventually. “You know that.”
“Don’t you do that - y’know - that blind people face-touching thing?”
That gets him a ghost of a smile.
“What? How else are you supposed to know?”
Matt Murdock is not your normal college roommate. His reactions to questions and statements shock Foggy sometimes. Most of the first year, Foggy had been able to pass it off as the kind of quirks someone might develop if they couldn’t see the world around them. For the past two years, however, it’s become far less about sight and far more about Matt.
Matt shrugs. He keeps the smile and sits down on Foggy’s bed, making his roommate sit up in a hurry. “You want me to touch you.”
Foggy holds up his hands. “I didn’t say that!”
You don’t exactly say much in the way of no to Matt Murdock, though, and that is the full extent of Foggy’s protest.
Matt holds up his hands. Foggy shuffles forward, then realises he isn’t close enough and takes Matt’s wrists, guiding him.
He’s glad that Matt can’t see then. There have been more moments like that than he really wants to admit to, lately.
“Whaddayou think? Handsome?” Foggy says, after five seconds of silence. Matt’s fingertips brushing over his cheeks are something he’s trying very hard not to react to.
Matt’s smile ghosts back in. “Maybe.”
What does that mean? What is THAT supposed to be?
Foggy wonders if Matt can tell that he’s flushing and he can’t breathe slow enough. He wonders if this is how Matt can tell the hot girls from the other ones. He wonders how long this is gonna take, because sooner or later he’s probably going to run out of the room.
And just like that- “Done,” Matt says.
He takes his hands off Foggy’s face and sits back, looking pleased with himself. The asshole.
“You are one weird guy,” Foggy says, out of nowhere.
