vance shifted uncomfortably in his seat. it wasn’t that he was opposed to giving haruka and lee extra help when they needed it — he just felt they always gave him tasks he wasn’t the best equipped to handle. lee was much better suited for interviewing androids and listening to their stories, in his opinion. he was sensitive to their feelings, an attentive listener, and he always seemed to know the right things to say. lee was good at talking to people . . . not him. that wouldn’t keep him from trying, though.
it was probably why he felt so awkward and uneasy as he watched the girl’s expression twist into something painful. he did his best to follow the list of questions lee gave him before he left, but it seemed lee’s charm and gentle personality hadn’t rubbed off on him. ❛ i . . . never even knew you felt that way, ❜ he exhaled as his LED briefly blinked yellow. it was a weak attempt to reassure her that her feelings were being heard — weak, but genuine nonetheless. he’d take note of what she told him, but . . . ❛ if it’s too much, we don’t have to keep talking about it. ❜ / @liliummalum
