Lillian was right.

Taylor could feel the bullet wounds pulsating with pain, tasting that familiar metallic taste in his mouth and he knew something right then and there: this couldn't be the end. All this time he had thought that he could continue his job because it protected his family even though Lillian protested sometimes about him always jumping to be a hero, but there was always the chance he'd return to them in a body bag and in that moment he remembered so much of what had made his life worth living. Joining the marines. Meeting Lillian. Falling in love. Marrying the woman he would do anything for. Knowing Tamriella was on the way. Getting to spend time with his precious little girl--this just couldn't be it. No. He'd been through worse. Lillian would fix this like she always fixed him up after a mission and he would make this up to her--make this up to his baby girl.

Taylor Lucas was not about to give up.
