I just had a very dark thought about how Bill’s home dimension might have been destroyed.
What if Bill actually succeeded in showing them the stars, but their 2D minds simply couldn’t handle it?
We know Bill was born with a 3D eye, which is why he can see beyond their flat world so easily, but the other shapes only had 2D perception.
So it would be logical to think that when they were suddenly exposed to something beyond their understanding, something too horrifying to comprehend, something that shattered their sanity.
The shapes started tearing themselves apart, trying to return to their simple 2D existence.
Bill tried to stop them, he tried to make them understand, to calm them down, but he couldn’t.
All around him were screams of agony as the shapes destroyed themselves.
Panicked and terrified, Bill desperately tried to force them back into their old 2D state.
But in the chaos, he accidentally engulfed them in his blue flames.
The screams only grew louder.
And just like that, his entire home dimension was gone.
Every shape. His world. Even his parents.
All that remained was a tiny speck of dust drifting in the void.
After witnessing something that horrific and knowing he might have caused it, Bill slowly lost his mind.
The screams never left him. They kept echoing in his mind, over and over again.
