Narragansett, Rhode Island
My first trip to Rhode Island has been full of surprises! My friend, Solenne, moved here and presented me with the opportunity to come visit for a week. Solenne and I met as freshmen in college, which though it was only a few years ago feels like ages ago. I think, especially with the current state of the world, we’re all adapting and changing as individuals. For me, a lot of this growth and the challenges being thrown my way have felt like I’m a guinea pig in some social experiment. Thankfully, I still have so many of my wonderful friends that are either going though the same stuff or are least able to sympathize. My friends are really what keep me grounded, and I’m sure I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to put my admiration for them into words.
Traveling is obviously quite different nowadays. Nonetheless, Rhode Island, especially Narragansett, was the perfect destination. From relaxing at the beach, taking my midterms online (ew), and eating various forms of seafood, this trip has been heaven-sent. I spent plenty of my week just wandering around, going with the flow. Simply imagine little ole me, jumping on the sudden urge to find some apple cider donuts and then discovering baby cows (somehow sounds cuter than calves). That’s life right now though, following the wind wherever it blows.
And of course, a change of scenery is always appreciated :)
