Honoring Liam Payne: A memorial across time and space

As we continue to process the heartbreaking news of Liam’s passing, I’ve created this tumblr as a space where we can come together and remember him.

Several of you, including some anons, suggested the idea of holding an online memorial, especially for those who can’t attend the services being held in various cities. I believe this is a beautiful way to honor him and support one another.

I’ll be posting more details on Monday, as it’s quite late now and I’ll be travelling tomorrow to attend one of the memorials. But I wanted to get this blog up and running to share a date and a way for us to contribute.

We’ll be holding the online memorial on October 29th. The time doesn’t matter — just join in whenever it’s October 29th where you are, so everyone can participate in their own time. What can you share?

THEME ANNOUNCEMENT!

Three things cannot long be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

This year we are trying something new with Sterek Week which is a week long, over arching, theme! The week long theme will be the Sun and the Moon.

What does the week long theme mean for you? More options! Each day you will have two related, but opposite themes that you can either choose from or combine into one work.

See below for each days themes with a handful of examples to show the difference!

Day 1 - October 25th: Open Secrets (Sun) / Hidden Truths (Moon) - Everyone knows they're a thing (but they're oblivious) vs they're dating but nobody knows. Also known supernatural world that no one really talks about vs hidden supernatural world.

Day 2 - October 26th: Domestic Bliss (Sun) / Love is Murder (Moon) - Domestic Bliss is about family, slice-of-life and established relationship vibes, while Love is Murder is dark, murder husbands, or crime-related.

Day 3 - October 27th: Applied Science (Sun) / Forbidden Magic (Moon) - This one is for those who would like to get creative with an AU in a sci-fi or fantasy setting.

Day 4 - October 28th: Canon Compliance (Sun) / What-if AU (Moon) - The first fills in the canon blanks, while the second takes canon in a new direction.

Day 5 - October 29th: Fluff and Firsts (Sun) / Dark Desires (Moon) - Fluff and Firsts is the wholesome theme... can be anything that brings the good vibes really. Dark Desires can be kink, dark, sexual, or evil in nature.

Day 6 - October 30th: Dealer's Choice (Sun) / Tarot Cards (Moon) - Dealer's Choice can be the wild card theme where you can choose anything or maybe write about them playing strip poker or going to Vegas. Tarot Cards - basically pick a tarot card and run with it.

Day 7 - October 31st: Autumn Adventures (Sun) / Trick or Treat (Moon) - Autumn Adventures could be maybe something outdoorsy, or getting a pumpkin spice latté; anything autumn related. Trick or Treat, of course, is the Halloween theme so anything Halloween related goes there.

We're back for 2024!

Teen Wolf AU Fest is an open collection prompt fest that will take place over five weeks, starting in the first week of May.

This fest will be similar to fests like Flufftober or Kinktober in that anyone can participate as little or as much as they want. Instead of daily prompts, however, there will be two weekly prompts to choose from. For 2024, these prompts will be beings and places. We're also introducing bonus prompts for genre.

FAQ

This is a low-key, participate as-you-wish fest. You can create something for all five weeks or just for one.

The prompts will be posted weekly through the Tumblr fest blog (@twaufest). At least one of the weekly prompts should be incorporated in the work.

There will be two prompts per week. You can use one or both of them. There will also be a bonus genre prompt, if you wish to also include that.

You can create one work using just one of the weekly prompts, or create one work with both prompts, or create two works using one prompts for each work.

All ships are welcome (or lack thereof).

All types of transformative fanworks are welcome.

Your work can be shared in the AO3 collection (twaufest24) and/or on Tumblr by tagging @twaufest.

Rules

AU works only. Since this is an AU fest, all works must be AUs. They can be human-AUs, supernatural AUs, or any other type of AU. But they cannot be fully canon or just canon divergent.

Tag your works. Fics must be tagged appropriately. Please tag for major content warnings and other common warnings/triggers.

At least one of the weekly prompts must be used in your work for that week.
