Hurt my back lifting a struggling 30kg dog :(
But found out she loves it when I hum. Prancing all over the place, stretching, wagging, up on her hind legs.
Shes hot and bothered and unfortunately blends in with the floor.
Hmm. And a little too much bravery from the hound last night. We were sitting on the porch, a cat went by and I called to them. They stopped and we blinked at each other a while until I moved to see if I could pat the cat. Lily took this as the cue to shoot off chasing it down the street.
That will not do.
Great improvement in the hound's bravery this week. She's always been leery of doors, hold it arm- length open and she'll hesitate to go through. Even when she's amped up to go for a walk.
Well in the process of fixing the sliding doors we had two days where they were worse. Could only open them about 30cm to slither through. So, with a little encouragement she walked through a space which is technically wide enough for her! Then again! A little moment to get this for the glass door as well as the screen, and we have a dog who will walk through an open door!
Lily the Brave. Lily, Hound of Courage and Trust!
Successfully walked Lilydog by my myself for the first time last night.
She's a worried little rescue who does not like being separated from Hemlig. If I try to take her out while he's inside she will usually freeze at the end of the driveway and refuse to move. (Or a few blocks away, she tried to freeze iwhen we crossed a busy road one time and it was Not Good.)
But last night he was being lazy and she was full of energy and I said I'd do it. I let her lead where she wanted to go and she kept a cracking pace as if to say "Fuck Hemlig" and it was a successful little mission.
Very brave of her.
Battling with a sulky dog over the sofa.
She's allowed on it but my silly sausage Hemlig has been prioritising her there as a Spot while there's been so much moving activity. Now she thinks it is for them only and really sulks if a person wants to sit on the sofa instead.
She did a double- take when Hemlig's friend was sitting on it with him, no room for her. Stood staring.
She curled in a ball and faced the wall when Hemlig and I watched a film on it last night.
She looked like she'd been kicked just now when I told her to get off. Her sheet needs to be washed and I want to sit on the sofa to spread out some handsewing.
I'm sorry Hemlig gave you a false impression dog but you do have a bed.
She really hates me sometimes. She's Hemlig's dog and he's the centre of her world. But I'm the one who gets to sleep with him in a different room, I'm the one he'll go on exclusive outings with, sometimes I get more hugs than her, and I'm the one who most often kicks her off the sofa.
