a/n. the victon brainrot is back folks... what if sejun was my bias (skdjsk IM JOKING IM JOKING)
“How am I supposed to know when you don’t communicate, Sejun?! I scheduled the date for tonight 2 weeks ago! You didn’t say a word about extra practices until 10 minutes ago! I thought you’d be home an hour ago.” You yelled through the phone. You were getting frustrated with the situation, which was unfortunately translating into bursting out at your fiance. This didn’t happen often with Sejun, but it had started to happen more and more recently, and you hated it. Usually he was good with his schedule. Things hadn’t popped up out of nowhere like this in 2 years. You weren’t sure why you were unable to handle it right now.
You heard a tired sigh from the other side of the phone, “I don’t know what you want me to do, Y/n. The guys are waiting for me.” He sounded annoyed. In the back of your head, you knew he had every right to be.
You had texted him after you had gotten ready for the date, asking when he would get home. The week had been extremely busy for him, and the date that you had so carefully planned had completely slipped his mind. Extra dance practices and song recording sessions were scheduled for the entire night. You knew that Sejun couldn’t just drop them to go on a silly dinner date with you.
“If you had just said something yesterday then I could’ve cancelled the reservations! I’m already at the restaurant.” You gulped down an uncomfortable itch in your throat. Your nose burned and you knew that tears would be next. Fighting with Sejun was hands down your least favourite activity. You wanted to sink into the ground and never come up again.
“Did you see how fucking tired I was yesterday!? I barely had energy to take a shower before bed!” His response rang in your ear uncomfortably and you let out a shaky sigh. He was right. Of course he was right. You were being unreasonable for expecting this date to happen after his busy schedule all week.
“I… I don’t know, Sejun.” You mumbled, breaking down a little. You tried to hide your shaky breath and sniffles, but you were sure he caught onto them. “I missed you so much— I just wanted tonight to be for us.” You choked out, a sob ringing through the air. You had already hailed a cab amidst your tears. You just wanted to get home as quickly as possible. There was no use waiting at the restaurant when your fiance would be a no-show.
“Are you crying, Y/n?” This question came a little softer than the previous ones. The sound of your sniffles must have been enough to alert him to your distress. You cried pretty easily, and Sejun was used to it— but he could definitely decipher when the situation was serious.
Though he wasn’t sure if you knew or not, he was worried about you. How could he not be? He hadn’t really been able to spend time with you for days on end; and for two people whose relationship 70% of the time consisted of clinging to each other, he had felt the toll as much as you had. You said you missed him, and he missed you as well. So, so much.
The question— the worry in his voice— had you crying even harder. You still tried to keep it quiet for the sake of the taxi driver, but you didn’t hide it from Sejun. You held the phone up to your ear, squishing it right against your skin.
“Please talk to me. Please.” You whispered through broken sobs, yearning to hear his voice calming you down instead of yelling at you.
“Baby.” He spoke through the phone immediately, ignoring Byungchan’s questions about what was taking so long from the other room. You realized it had been too long since he had last called you that. Just him saying that much was enough to get your breathing more even.
“You know I care about you more than this stupid practice, right? I’m gonna be there as soon as I can.” You heard a door shut and some keys clash against each other.
“No- Sejun, it’s fine, you should stay at practice.” You urged, suddenly panicked that you had made a big deal out of things when you shouldn’t have.
“I’ll make it up later. I’ll be okay. Just wanna be back with you right now.” He reassured you. You didn’t have the energy to fight with him again— just wanting to agree to anything and everything he suggested. So you found yourself humming, mumbling an “I love you” and an “I’ll see you soon” to him.
Sejun arrived home soon after you did, and he wrapped his arms around you as soon as he walked through the door. With your face buried in his chest, arms wrapped around his waist and his around your shoulders, you finally felt relaxed. He rubbed his hand up and down your back, soothing you further.
“My sweetheart, I’m so sorry.” He whispered, kissing your forehead gently. You looked up at him, eyes shiny still from crying earlier. The way he looked down at you, worry and sorry and love all swimming in his eyes, you felt like you could drown if you looked at him for a second longer. You weren’t sure how he looked so pretty. He had been working hard all day, and rushed over as soon as he heard you crying. You probably looked like a mess beside him. As if he could hear your negative thoughts, he hugged you closer and whispered in your ear.
“You look so gorgeous, angel.” The whisper was soft, a little bit raspy from his spent vocal cords having recorded almost all week; but it was sincere. You knew that he could never be disingenuous with you when you were the most precious thing in his life, and your heart still raced a little faster knowing that he found you attractive.
He found you attractive despite the mascara stains near your eyes, despite your hair that you haphazardly took down as soon as you arrived home. He thought you were gorgeous even though you had changed out of your black dress and into sweats.
Though you knew he was being serious, the thought still made you laugh. A quiet giggle escaped your throat, triggering Sejun’s heartier laughter. The sound made his heart leap, and again, he squeezed you just a bit tighter, rocking you back and forth in his arms like you were the most precious thing.
“What do you want to do tonight? The dinner date failed.” You asked.
Sejun hummed, “I think we should order in. I should take a shower and get dressed all cozy like you so that we can cuddle. And then we should look through your Pinterest board for wedding dresses. But first…”
“First?”
“First I’m going to kiss you.” He completed with a contented smile, leaning down quickly to fulfil his wish. Your lips tasted as soft and sweet as ever, and Sejun practically melted at the feeling after being deprived of it for so long. It really had been days since he had kissed you properly— not a fleeting peck on your lips, but something longer and sweeter. Something more vulnerable and precious. Something that left you both breathless and euphoric when it was over— a kiss that he wished would never end because he knew nothing felt better than your lips on his.
And that was exactly what he got, as you were just as eager to feel him so close after so long. Your hands slipped into his hair, feeling the long strands flow through your fingers. You sighed when he squeezed your hip gently, a smile creeping onto his lips at the elated feeling in his chest.
You pulled him as close to you as possible, in hopes that he would never leave the position. And he didn’t want to; but he didn’t have a choice. He was running out of breath, and he was sure that you were just as worse, having a smaller lung capacity than he did. He compensated the kiss ending by cradling your head and placing several smaller kisses to the top of it.
“I love you so much.” He confessed— probably for the millionth time since he had met you.
You giggled, still catching your breath, “I know. I love you too. Let’s complete that plan you had now, hm?”
He hummed happily in response, pecking your lips one more time before grabbing a towel for a quick shower.

“Why’d you order so many copies?” Your boyfriend questioned, walking up to where you were seated, Victon albums laid out on the table, waiting to be opened by you.
“I want to pull my bias.” You said simply. You started to carefully remove the film off the first album and open it up. You still liked to fangirl every once and a while and you had all the Victon albums to date.
“My photocards are pretty common, babe. I think you’d be fine with just 2 or 3. 7 seems a little much, doesn’t it?” He sat down beside you and grabbed another album to help unpackage.
You hummed, not saying anything in response to his comments, but a smile still grew on your face. You flipped over the photocards for the first album, a little disappointed when you saw that you had drawn Seungwoo and Byungchan.
“It’s okay, there’s 6 left.” Sejun smiled, dimples popping out. He flipped over the photocards from his album— Another Seungwoo and a Subin. “Guess we’ll have to keep look-”
“Finally!! Oh my god, this’ll complete my collection by now!” You grinned happily, snatching the Subin photocard from out of your boyfriend’s hand, holding it up to study it carefully like it was the most precious thing you owned.
“I thought you were trying to get your bias…?”
“I did!” Your smile stayed firm on your face until it finally dawned on Sejun.
“I’m… not your bias?”
“You're my boyfriend— why would you need to be my bias as well?” You reasoned offhandedly, still too immersed in the photocard to catch his confused expression.
He wasn’t your bias? Why wasn’t he your bias? You loved him, but then you biased Subin? What the heck did Subin have over your own boyfriend?!
“I’m not your bias?” He asked, stunned.
“Mmm… maybe bias wrecker? Not sure.”
“But I’m your boyfriend.”
“I know.” You kissed him on the cheek to ease his worries slightly, but it didn’t seem to help much.
“Am I… lacking?” Sejun asked, still stunned. When you glanced back at him, he was pouting.
“What? Of course not! I love you so much, baby.” You immediately calmed him, dropping the album that you were opening to cup his cheeks instead. “You’re my boyfriend and you’re not lacking in any way.”
“But I’m not your bias.” He muttered bitterly, removing your hands from his face and picking up another album, tearing the film and picking up the photocards— Sejun and Hanse. He picked up his own photocard, studying it carefully. You watched as his eyes flickered over every detail of the smaller, printed version of him.
“Am I not as pretty as Subin?”
You furrowed your eyebrows, “I never said he was prettier than you.”
“Then why is he your bias?” Sejun whined, huffing out a big breath at the end of the question.
You couldn’t suppress your laughter at his antics. You had never told him who your bias was for this very reason. You had never seen your boyfriend get jealous over anyone. He was always confident in himself and you, so there was really nothing he had to get jealous over. You just wanted to test out if he was the jealous type, and the result didn’t disappoint.
“I guess he just caught my attention.” You shrugged.
“It feels like you’re cheating on me.” He said dramatically.
“Biasing Subin doesn’t count as cheating.”
“It does! You’re being disloyal to your boyfriend.”
“I biased him because he’s talented. I’m not in love with him.” You defended.
“Am I not talented enough for you?”
“Baby,” You sounded defeated. You didn’t expect it to bother him that much. To be honest, you couldn’t think of anything to say to appease him. “I love you so much more than Subin, okay?”
“Do you?” Sejun pouted again.
“I do! You’re my handsome, talented, beautiful, funny, lovely boyfriend who I love endlessly and has no reason to get jealous over Subin.” You said sincerely.
“Well… I guess Subin can stay your bias then…” He mumbled, trying to hide his smile from your compliments, but he failed.
You laughed again and then grabbed Sejun’s hoodie strings, pulling him towards you until his lips landed on yours. You pulled away, but Sejun kept his eyes closed, trying to find your lips again for another kiss.
“You’re so cute.” You whispered, kissing him again like he wanted.

You set your books and notes down on a table in the empty library. Sejun would join you shortly for your tutoring session. You had been meeting every day after school ended for 7 weeks now, and it had quickly become your favourite event.
You thought it was funny - you used to hate the idea of having to tutor someone. Being responsible for teaching them a concept they already should have learned from the teacher? Having to sit through and explain it to them a million times before they finally get it, cause they’re slow? It sounded like torture.
But Sejun wasn’t like that. He was smart, quick-witted, funny, and overall pleasant to spend time with. You rarely had to explain something more than once before he got the hang of it. The tutoring sessions were less because he was falling behind, but because he was gone during usual school hours.
He told you that training to debut as a k-pop idol wasn’t that demanding, but you could tell it drained him. He sometimes came to tutoring already tired, and you worried he didn’t get enough sleep.
You checked the time on your phone again. Today was a tight schedule, as you had to catch a blind date right after the tutoring session. You weren’t originally planning for it to be today. And you were nervous to go, but your best friend was determined to get you a boyfriend before the second semester. You’d have to apologise to Sejun for having to end early today.
You spotted his pink hair in the hallway, walking into the library with a dimpled smile. Your mood shot up from just the sight of him. Just normal friend things… You thought, somehow convincing yourself before he came to sit down next to you.
“‘Afternoon!” He greeted cheerily.
“Good afternoon.” You laughed, flipping open your book and grabbing a pen. “Shall we start?” He nodded eagerly, resting his head on his hand, and looking at you.
You felt a little flustered by his stare today, but you shook it off. It’s just Sejun, this is normal.
You began to explain the concepts that you had learned in the class that he had missed last Thursday. You went over the math first, as it was relatively simple to explain and the homework was light for the week.
As you talked, Sejun zoned out a bit. The light from the window behind him shone on your face, lighting it up in the most magical way. He wasn’t sure what the special occasion was, but you wore a light yellow dress instead of your casual wear.
He kept tracing a line from your hair down to your neck with his eyes, always finding himself stopping at your lips for a moment, lingering. He had to shut down the thoughts in his head immediately. Don’t think about kissing her and make this complicated.
You finished explaining how to do this new way of problem-solving, and handed over a worksheet to Sejun. He had barely heard a word you said, and it took a lot of effort to tear his eyes off your pretty face and to the boring worksheet.
He looked over the problems, realising that he really should have been listening. But, he figured out how to solve them without your helpful instructions, and finished all 15 problems in 20 minutes.
He turned back to you, smiling, “I finished.”
You had gotten out your makeup bag to try to touch up your face in time for the blind date. You turned back to him, brush stuck in midair, “Right, let me check over them…” You glanced at the paper, nodding at his neat handwriting and quick, effective solutions to all the problems.
“Perfect. What would you like to do next?” You asked, looking back to your hand mirror for a second, before putting away your makeup brushes and small palette.
“What’s the occasion?” He asked, observing you. He’d never even seen you wear makeup, or a dressy outfit during a tutoring session. But today, you adorned both, not helping his struggle to suppress the urge to kiss you.
“I have a blind date after this.” You said, “I should’ve told you before, but we might need to end early today.”
“What?” He asked, shocked. His eyes had widened slightly, and he bit the inside of his mouth to try to stop himself from saying what he was about to.
You shrugged, “I don’t know, my friend set it up for me. Might as well go? She wants me to get a boyfriend before the second semester, and I don’t know anyone else who’s going to ask me out.”
“Don’t go on the blind date.” He said suddenly.
“What? Why-”
“Don’t go.” He said seriously, surprising you. He always had a light, happy air to him, but right now, he seemed dead serious. You gulped, looking back at his dark eyes and matching his stare.
You watched as his eyes stayed on your eyes, then flickered down to your lips, and then he broke eye contact entirely, looking away with a sigh.
“Sejun… Why do you care whether I go on a blind date or not? I know it’s not because it’s cutting into your tutoring time. You don’t care about stuff like that.” You said slowly.
“I can’t say why.” He responded, and you felt more confused than ever. What reason could he possibly have that he couldn’t even tell you?
“Then I’m going on the date.” You concluded, turning back to your bag.
“I said, don’t go.” He said desperately, grabbing your wrist. You froze up with the physical contact, turning back to him yet again.
He didn’t give you time to say anything before he was moving closer to you, and within an instant, you felt his lips touch yours. Your eyes closed as a response, and your heart pounded in your chest. Lim Sejun? Kissing you?
He pulled back, “If you need to get a boyfriend so badly, at least give me a chance, not some random dude you’ve never even seen.” He whispered, looking away again.
“Do you mean it?” You asked, making him look back at you.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Just needed to make sure before I do this.” You explained, leaning in quickly to press a kiss to his lips. “I won’t go on the date. You’ve convinced me.” You smiled at him, eyebrows raising, before you pretended to turn your attention back to your books.
You observed him from the corner of your eyes, fighting back a smile when you saw him blush and smile widely, looking back to his paper.
“You’ll be my girlfriend… right?”
You nodded, “‘Why wouldn’t I?’’’ You repeated his words from before, making you both giggle softly.
“I’ll take you to get ice cream after this is over.” He said, giving you a pretty dimpled smile.
“Why isn’t it over already, then?” You asked, looking back and forth between him and the textbooks that neither of you were going to study anyway. He smiled cheekily, grabbing the books and putting them back in his bag.
“Let’s go.” He held out his hand for you, and you took it gingerly, your heart racing in your chest again.
