Hilson vs Hameron vs Huddy
Okay, so here’s a quick deconstruction on why Hilson> Hameron/Huddy .
Cameron was in love this House’s flaws. She loved his limp, his addiction, his abrasive personality, and his emotional damage. Cameron has a thing for damaged people, she was attached to the obese man and the agoraphobic man and married a man she knew was dying. She loves House just for his faults. House himself highlights this twice
House: You live under the delusion that you can fix everything that isn’t perfect. That’s why you married a man who was dying of cancer. You don’t love, you need. And now that your husband is dead, you’re looking for your new charity case. That’s why you’re going out with me. I’m twice your age, I’m not great looking, I’m not charming, I’m not even nice. What I am is what you need. I’m damaged. [He picks up his menu, leaving Cameron to think.]
Also, when his leg is temporarily healed Cameron all but completely loses interest in him. House asks her out and smirks when she’s suddenly much less interested in him.
Cameron: You’re...smiling...
House: I just think its funny how full of crap you are. When I was in pain you were all over me. You only wanted me when I was a sick little puppy that you could nurse back to health. Now that I’m healthy, you have no interest in me.
Cuddy was the opposite. She was in love with House’s talent, his genius, his passion, and his job. She loved what he did , not who he was. This is evidenced by , before the actual relationship, Cuddy only ever shows attraction to House when he has a “ House moment”. She says he’s “ the most amazing man she’s even known” because she only loves the amazing things about him. There are too many instances to count when she can’t tolerate his abrasives/his addiction/ how unpredictable he is.
It’s shown that her attraction quickly wears thin once House actually starts behaving like himself, and she breaks up with him after just one slight ( using Vicoden to tolerate seeing her after her surgery when she thought she had kidney cancer) . Cuddy only loved an idealized version of House.
Now Wilson is different. He loves both the good and bad that House has. He loves his brilliance, passion, looks, any other stereotypical good trait about him, and is also in love with most of his dysfunctions ( and tolerates the remaining ones).
